They were excellent diagnosticians and took the time to clearly explain what was going on and what the next steps would be. I really appreciated how patient and thorough they were, especially when walking my husband and me through the process. Their communication made us feel comfortable and confident in the work being done. Both Kyle and Marcel were professional, respectful, and easy to work with from start to finish. Called Moxley plumbing because my hot water heater wasn't working, based on recommendations from a Facebook group. They were able to come the next day and took time to talk with me thoroughly about the problem and options for resolution. They replaced it and provided me with some special parts to address the issues I was having and the pricing was very fair - 30% less than what I had been quoted by a larger company. The technician was really nice and he worked quickly to restore service. I had an excellent experience from my communication with the owner to my visit from the technician. We had a sudden clogged/backed-up kitchen sink on a Sunday evening. I contacted Moxley Plumbing, who returned my call promptly. John was professional and understanding. He was kind to schedule our home for the first appointment on Monday morning. They arrived on time and fully equipped with a high-end 50 ft. snake and fixed the issue nicely. Additionally, on no notice and while here, I asked the technician if he could look at a loose bathroom sink faucet. He supported my request happily and was able to fix the faucet, too. Excellent service, great value! In fall of 2023, I was looking for a plumber because the waterline to an outside spigot had burst or the spigot had cracked (I wasn't sure at the time) and water was leaking into our basement. I found Moxley plumbing after doing a quick Google search I had previously had another plumbing company come out and give me a quote, but that quote was a lot more then what I had expected. A gentleman from Moxley plumbing came out and gave me a quote that was more in line with what I had researched. The plumber was prepared to do the work same day so we went ahead and approved the quote and the plumber got started on the work. Turns out our spigot had cracked from old age and because one of us had turned on the water after a freeze (this is a no no). It was fixed quickly! The plumber was professional and courteous. Fast forward to the following spring, we had begun planting for the season and were unable to turn on the water. I reached out to Moxley plumbing once again and they had a rep come out and let us know exactly what they did when they turned off the water. Had Kyle come out to replace an outside hose hookup along with replacing a piece of damaged PVC pipe with copper pipe. He had a very pleasant demeanor and explained everything he was doing along with showing me his work at the conclusion of the job. Called them this morning on Dec 23rd. Other plumbers had told us they could not come until Dec 26th. We had a small leak in a pipe from the hot water heater and had turned off the hot water. They were here within 11/2 hours and replaced a section of pipe including a cut off valve so if something happened in future we could cut off part of hot water not to the entire house. Very polite, efficient, and reasonably priced. Highly recommend. read more

A top to a canister was accidently dropped and flushed down a toilet. This resulted in not being able to flush or use the toilet. We called Moxley, having used them before, and they were expediate to get to our home. They were fast and efficient. Extremely pleased by their professionalism and rapid response. High Recommend Moxley Plumbing. They have been wonderful. I had a mysterious leak under the sink in our bathroom. The first time they came out, they thought it was fixed by tightening some things but it didn't they came out again tried again, that didn't do the trick either, for the third time they came and changed few things and fixed it I believe. They only charged one payment, John Moxley has been amazing very responsive. Never got annoyed of my calls and always pleasant and on time to their work. Do NOT call anyone else use them. We started getting sewage backing into our house last night and I couldn't get a call back from anyone. Moxley picked up the phone and basically troubleshot the issue over the phone as a county problem. Even helped me locate their number. He didn't take a dime for his knowledge or time. I called these guys for the first time to have some very small jobs completed in my house. The lady told me she charged $175 per hour and it would take SEVERAL hours to complete the easy jobs I wanted done. I already k ew the estimated time for each job so I smelled pure BS. I decided not to be swindled or over charged so I told her to cancel everything. Other plumbers quoted me as low as $60 per hour. Moxley plumbing trying to charge $175 per hour is ridiculous and in my opinion greedy. read more

We had John come to investigate a mysterious smell in our bathroom. He reset our toilet and in the process of bolting it down cracked the tile. He denied he did it. I have a toddler and clean around that toilet multiple times a week so I KNOW it wasn't cracked before he set the toilet. He also told us "marble is soft and cracks easily" it's not marble, but ceramic tile. Also, after he said there was no way he did it he said "maybe it cracked because it was laid wrong." I would never recommend such a dishonest person. This is Bad business and I will share it far and wide. Business owners need to take responsibility and make things right. No apology. We purchased our home about 2 years ago and being as it was built in the late 70's have had to fix/replace 3 different plumbing related issues. Since we were new to the area we had no idea who to call when the first issue arose. Luckily we found an old Moxley Plumbing receipt in a drawer that the previous owners had left behind. Not only has John (Moxley) flawlessly replaced and/or repaired our water pressure tank, well pump, and now water heater - he and his team have all been extremely pleasant, punctual and easy to conduct business with. Wrote a 5 star review in 2016. Have used this plumber for 4 jobs and received good service until the last visit. Was sent a very young plumber who was obviously very new at his job. Was supposedd to reinstall all plumbing under our kitchen sink including a garbage disposal and hot water heater dispenser as well as the normal hot and cold water lines. Most off the time was spent staring at the area trying to figure out how to hook up the hot water unit. Finally a more experienced coworker came along and they both stared at it. Three hours later I was presented with a larger than $500 bill and was told they couldn't figure out how to hook it up. I told them that the job they should have completed was in no way worth the $500 but that Mr Moxley had always been fair and reasonable in the past, so I wrote a check. I then gave Mr. Moxley a call which he did not return. Several days later my husband called since he was the one who went to the store and found a standard fitting to hook up the hot water dispenser to explain and was told that he'd make it right. Shortly after we discovered the garbage disposal leaks whenever the water level in the sink rises. We had a two very large leaks that required a lot of house repair work and after months of dealing with a leaking sink and many other issues were finally ready to get the final issues fixed. I called Mr. Moxley again and reminded him that he said he'd make right on the overcharge and never received a response. Guess I'm out .$500 and have a leaky sink too. I thought I had found a good plumber, but guess he just got too busy and can't keep up with response time or quality based on my update and the most recent posted reviews. read more

Had Moxley plumbing come out in 2015and replace a well pump. In 2017 that well pump failed so they came out again and only charge me the labor to change it out but at the same time they shortened my well depth by 15' when they replaced my well pipe and pump. In the 23 yrs I've lived here I've never been without water in my well. Today(9-29-19) I woke up to no water pressure in my house. I did some troubleshooting and everything inside the house is in order and working. The problem seems to be with either my well depth or well pump so I called John Moxley on a Sunday and he wants $240 an hour to come and look at it which I objected to because I feel that both of those items his guy helped to create! Someone is definitely getting greedy ! When they were out here in 2017 the labor rate was $120 an hour. I will never use Moxley again. read more

Unreliable talk to him on the phone said he could do the project never showed up called him twice he called me back leaving a message that he did not understand my message I called him back send him pictures specifically said what I needed in the time constraints I was in and never returned my phone call again completely unprofessional and the last time they did work for me his coworker was a little sloppy left brass fittings on the floor and some rappers on the floor of my bathroom when they replaced my sink and repaired it their appearance was not that professional either and your communication skills were a little lacking read more
