This is definitely one of my favorite Boston food trucks! They have the perfect combination of great good and friendly service that keeps me coming back! John and his crew are always friendly and efficient. The Japanese Fried Chicken (or JFC as us regulars call it) is flavorful and stays amazingly crispy on my 10 min walk back to the office. The dumplings are also delicious. The cheeseburger dumpling that they occasionally have on special is my favorite. If you get the JFC combo with the homemade noodles and Asian slaw, you won't be disappointed. The raspberry lime rickey is a great accompaniment in the summer! I saw the Moyzilla food truck and thought I'd give it a try. I was craving dumplings, so I ordered the pork and cabbage dumplings, as well as the kara-age/fried chicken. The dumplings were...disappointing. The flavor was fine but it didn't really hit the spot. They also didn't really specify how they would prepare them (e.g., steaming, boiling, pan-frying), and the end result was 4 poorly pan-fried (or grilled?) dumplings for over $5 that were cold when I got them. For that much money, I should have received at least twice the amount of food. I don't understand this trend of overcharging for these things because people who know how to make dumplings crank them out by the second. Dumplings are inherently cheap AND filling, and you can buy a bag of 30 dumplings at an Asian Market for a little over $5 and cook them yourself for far less. Unless you're topping your dumplings with gold leaf, do not pay $5 for barely average dumplings no matter where you go. The kara-age was better. It was fresh out of the fryer, and drizzled in spicy mayo. The chicken was good, but I've had much better at nearby/local Japanese restaurants. I use the term "better" in the sense that the chicken is juicier, crispier, and far lighter/less greasy than what Moyzilla served. I usually don't feel like I've just eaten meaty stones after a few pieces. All in all, I can't say I hated it, but I'm looking elsewhere the next time I'm craving dumplings. read more

Probably my favorite food truck. Moyzilla is consistent, reasonably priced, and fast. I love every single thing on the menu. My go-to is the classic dumpling meal box with noodles, but the fried chicken is seriously out of this world. It can be a lot for just one, but sharing a side of fried chicken with the dumpling meal is perfect. The veggie dumplings are also delicious, though it's hard to pass up the meat ones. It's rare these days, but when they have the special Moyzilla cheeseburger dumplings...you must try them. They are so good! I am not big on trying new things and if there was a steak tip and mashed potato food truck I probably would have gotten it. But I picked the coolest looking food truck available and that was the purple one- Moyzilla!! I got a sampler box for $9 which had (3) dumplings, (5 pieces of) Japanese friend chicken, and a spring roll on a bed of greens. It came with a ginger-soy sauce for dipping. It was absolutely delicious. I was glad I tried everything but if I see this food truck again I would probably order the Japanese fried chicken as that was my favorite out of the box. While the folks at the truck were extremely kind, I just cannot give moyzilla a good review. It looks delicious, but fails to impress past your insta worthy photo. I wanted to try both the dumplings and the chicken. Unfortunately, they cannot offer a meal box that's half-chicken and half dumplings because their meat is pre-portioned, so I got a Japanese fried chicken mealbox with a side of 4 dumplings. They are usually around BMC on Thursdays and for a while I was coming weekly for lunch. I always get the dumpling meal box. For $8 it's a lot of food and it's def worth it. The pork dumplings are decent. The skin is a little too hard and not delicate enough, but it's meaty and juicy. I usually get it with the noodles and it's better than the "fried rice". The "fried rice" is not really fried rice at all... it's just rice. The person who took my order suggested it and I regret ever trying it. So, get the noodles! I also like their side salad with the light dressing. It's a good balance to the heaviness of the dumplings and noodles. Looking around Dewey Square I spotted this truck. Saw they serve dumplings, I love dumplings so I got in line. 20 minutes later I got to the truck and ordered their "meal box" which comes with 4 dumplings, choice of garlic noodles or scallion rice and some cabbage slaw ($8). I opted for their classic dumplings with the noodles, and i got a side of the "moyzilla dumplings" for another $4. So $12 total, he charged me $13, to be inclusive of tax. Or he just ripped me off and I didnt realize til now when I wrote out the prices. Meh... Onto the food. The dumplings them self are very small. The dough is very chewy, and in some parts over cooked. They must pan fry them. The original dumplings have pork and spices in them. Not very flavorful. Served with a little ginger sauce to dip. That helped, but the filling needed the flavor. The moyzilla dumplings are a take on a burger, stuffed with ground beef and a "special sauce" drizzled over the top. Again not much flavor. The noodles were labeled as garlicky, but I didnt taste any. So many other trucks in that area, you would be safe to skip this one. They really need to look at flavor profiles, especially if they are charging so much. read more

New food truck for the 2014 food truck season in Boston. So new that they don't have any Yelp reviews (that I could find). Moyzilla's location varies, I went to Harrison and Concord Streets on Thursday (right by Boston Medical Center) and the food was worth the 15 minute walk (it was also a nice spring day, the first after an interminable winter). Moyzilla serves house-made (truck-made?) dumplings and grilled skewers of chicken and beef. I got the chicken lunch combo that has two skewers of grilled chicken, fried rice, and Asian slaw, and an order of the Moyzilla-style dumplings. The chicken combo was delicious and reasonably priced. The skewers of moist chicken thigh were served with white sauce over a bed of tasty fried rice and a healthy bunch of chopped cilantro. The fried rice was light (as fried rice goes), meaning it wasn't doused in grease or soy sauce. The slaw was flavorful, light, and crunchy. The dumplings were good, but it took a bit for me to wrap my head around the Moyzilla-style dumplings, which are inspired by cheeseburgers. The dumpling was filled with ground beef and copped onions, served on shredded lettuce, and topped with thousand island dressing. It reminded me of a Big Mac. As I said, it was good, just not what I was expecting. The price for the food was reasonable, the service was friendly and speedy (I think the Moyzilla truck was staffed entirely with his family. There was definitely a mom vibe from the cashier, and I think dad was making the fried rice.). Anyway, I'd walk 15 minutes for the food again. Next time I'm trying the regular dumplings. I can say this is my favorite food truck in the Boston area. The kaarage (Japanese fried chicken) topped with scallions and sriracha aioli is amazing - the combo meal comes with their refreshing asian slaw and choice of scallion rice/garlic noodles. Everything they serve is great - haven't got the chance to try their dumplings because I'm just so hooked on the kaarage, but they're definitely on my list. Lastly, mango soda. A must-have! I first came to this foot truck and I was intrigued. Very snazzy looking truck and they had a promise of selling asian street food. So for 8 dollars I got the Dumpling Meal box. It came with 4 pork and cabbage dumplings and fried rice I opened box and the dumplings were tiny. I ate each of them in a single bite. Maybe 2 bites if I was being generous. Flavor was okay but once again the were so small. I ate the dumplings so fast and I had all this left over fried rice. The fried rice was... OK at best. They throw in asian coleslaw which is basically just chopped up cabbage with light dressing. 8 dollars though? Definitely not worth it. I didn't want to pass judgement quickly so the following week I tried something completely different. I got the chicken skewers with stir fry noodles. Immediately better than the dumplings and the fried rice. Chicken was cooked nicely, had a good flavor to it and the noodles complimented the dish well. Very much filling and if I had to go back to this food truck, I'd stick with the meat skewers over the dumplings. For 5 dollars you get 4 dumplings. That's $1.25 a dumping! They're so miniscule that it's hard to justify that. Then the rice added to that is 8 dollars total. Questionable value. Especially when you have other Asian food trucks that hit around 6 to 7 dollars like Momogoose or Bon Me. I'll give the dumpling meal box a 2/5 but the skewer meal boxes 4/5. read more

Waited for over 10 minutes for my dumpling box this morning. That in itself in not an acceptable amount of time to wait for food at a food truck. As I was walking back to work I was hoping that the wait was worth it. I was mistaken. The noodles taste like soap. Yes, google it - apparently its easy to mess them up and have them taste like this. But that is no excuse. I couldnt eat the noodles and the dumplings were OK, but not enough to get this soap taste from my mouth. Im still hungry. I'm not going to downgrade the stars from my previous review, however, what I received today is worthy of 2 stars if even. I hope they read the reviews and take the suggestions into consideration so I want to give them a chance to fix the problem before I downgrade. I ordered the lemongrass chicken today, and I wasn't sold on it at all. The chicken is barely grilled, it lacks color, I'm left searching for the lemongrass flavor and it's has no umami that you expect from Vietnamese cooking . I make this at home myself, and I feel like I impart more flavor and its not even my native cuisine. Definitely needs more soy, fish sauce, a little brown sugar and lemongrass. I can't pinpoint exactly what's missing other than flavor. Im so disappointed especially when I could've ordered the fried chicken which I know I like, or just simply go to another truck. Went to try this food truck outside of Cheesecake. The line was pretty long, but moved. I think it took me around 5-10 minutes to order. I got the combo with original dumpling and noodles. The dumplings are hand made filled with pork. They give you four and it's quite meaty. I love the dipping sauce. The noodles are typical Chinese noodles. The whole thing cost me 8$. read more

I love the food they provide, but they don't hold to their hours and they constantly close their trucks early. Multiple times I have gone after 2pm to their Government Square location and they have closed their truck or left. They are supposed to be there from 11-3pm, but they don't seem to hold to this. I have gone twice in the past four weeks to discover they are either not there or they have closed early. Also, another issue I have, and one that keeps them from being an ideal lunch spot, is that their menu is super limited and it is basically one or two offerings. The story behind the creation of this food truck is even more amazing. But anyways, today I ordered the buffalo chicken dumplings $5 comes with 4 and Fried Japanese-Chicken meal box $8 with egg rolls ($1). With your choice of stir fry noodles or rice. So, so, soooo flavorful and delicious. They are fast (average wait 8 minutes or if you're there during lunch rush expect to wait approximately 10 minutes. If you complain waiting 10 minutes for food during lunch rush its your own damn fault.) and the food comes out hot and NOT greasy. I was afraid the Japanese-Fried Chicken would be soggy and leave a greasy or filling after taste. But it didn't! It was NOT dripping with grease. Fried to perfection and crunchy. The only downside is I don't have a photo for you. The food is too good to NOT not eat. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this new food truck. They take cash a CC. Hope one day, they'll take LevelUp! It's always encouraging to see a food truck with a long line of people (and from what I could tell, a good number of regular customers). I tried Moyzilla for the first time today and was really impressed by the food and fast and friendly service. I tried the classic dumplings and the mango soda. The dumplings weren't as good as Mom's but were still very flavorful. And the mango soda was so, so yummy. I was sad when it was gone. : / All in all, a solid food truck!! read more

The box for $10($1 extra for spring roll) came with garlic noodles which were a bit dry for my liking and an asian slaw topped with a vingarette. The raspberry lime rickey was small and full of ice for $3 but possibly my fave thing from their menu. The staff are nice and they take credit card if needed. I really wanted to like this place, but it is pretty sub par. The dumplings are pretty good as well as the sauce they give you with them , but the Korean fried chicken is not very good at all.
