Just got my car fixed today by these guys and they were so awesome I just had to make a yelp account and leave them a rating. I've been using Yelp a lot, but never leave a rating. EVER.This is my first review because these guys deserve it. I've been driving my '98 Accord for 6 years now. Honda Service & Maintenance would grimace over the phone every time I call in for a service because it is an old model. So, it's either I get a new car, get it fixed by the dealership for an overcharged price, fix the problems myself. Most of the time, it's the last option because 1)no money for a new car 2)no money for dealership service 3)I'm very very very skeptical of mechanics. Problem: cracked radiator spewing out antifreeze + having to travel long distance in two days = no time to order part and fix it myself. So I went on yelp to look for a mechanic shop with the best review in Arlington and took a chance. I dropped it off at MP Auto Repair. Hieu, the owner's son, used the radiator pressure tester and provided me with VISUAL confirmation that the old radiator was cracked and that was what needed to be repaired. Hieu then went online to show me the new part needed for the car, showing me the cost and manufacturer of the item. He totaled the cost, radiator and labor, and I noticed the price of the radiator written down was 1/3 the price that was on the screen. I was happy and worry. Happy because I'm saving money and worry because I thought it might be a used part. Later in the day, I picked my car up and inspected the work. Clean and professional: no dangling hoses and everything was tied up. I straight-out asked the owner, Hung, why he was charging me a cheaper price than it was on the screen, is it a used part? Hung brought me into his shop and showed me the box the radiator came from and reassured me that it is a brand-new and Honda warranty-guaranteed part. He walked me around the shop and showed me new BMW and Mercedes parts saying that he works with other car brands too. Hung told me that he only charges his customers the price he paid the AUTHORIZED SUPPLIER and profit only through labor. I was IMPRESSED at how genuine he sounded and, of course, how I was saving money. Matter of fact, I called in the dealership S&M and everything would have taken 2 days (to order the part and fix it) and $750 (500 for radiator + 250 for labor). NOPE! Why I would recommend MP Auto Repair to other skeptical beings out there is because Hung and his sons: 1) Are very genuine and kind 2) Are knowledgeable (not just with Honda made cars only) 3) Are straightforward and not trying to steal your money 4) Are trustworthy 5) Don't work with Chinese made parts 6) Are Professional 7) Are great with customer (will show you what's wrong, what's needed to be purchased, and clarify any question you may have) "Not only do we want to save our customers money, but also to make them happy with our work because their loyalty run our business" - Hung Thanks Hieu and Hung! TLDR; cracked radiator, no time to fix it myself, found MP Auto Repair, took a chance, happy with the result. What!? I haven't reviewed these guys yet? Dang, how did I miss Hieu and his family? Yes, they I give them five stars, although they have a couple of weak spots. I don't hold those against them, as no one is perfect, and they are so much better than almost any car shop I've ever been to in about 35 years of driving. It's Hieu who answers the phone and runs the front, *and* works on vehicles along with his siblings and father. So he's kinda' the face of MP Auto for me. These guys are honest, truly honest. Not only will they NEVER rip you off, but Hieu always looks to see what the best price is he can give you. They do solid work, at very fair prices, and their turn around is usually quite fast. They only downside is that they aren't as excellent with European cars as they are domestic and Asian cars. In all fairness, there's a reason why there are European car specialists. My wife and I drive (old) German and Swedish cars, and sometimes the guys at MP are stumped. It happened with the A/C on my Volvo. I had to take it to Gorecki for that. But for all the general maintenance and run of the mill repairs we go to MP Auto. I'm looking at replacing my Volvo in the next year, and am seriously considering a Honda, as I know these guys can work on a Honda in their sleep. And that way I wouldn't have to take my car anywhere else, ever. I *highly* recommend MP Auto. You can count on them, and rest easy knowing they aren't going to ever deal with you dishonestly. As an aside, Hieu is really friendly, straight forward and helpful. He's just a great all around guy who seems to really care. His family was smart to make him the 'front man' for MP Auto. read more

These guys are great! Their work ethic is impeccable and they definitely excel in costumer service. It's an honest family business and I could not feel more comfortable going there. The first time I went, I took my car because I thought coolant was leaking, the guys spent like an hour checking everything out and since everything turned out to be fine they didn't charge me anything. I've gone for oil changes, and state inspections. Every time I go, Hieu remembers me and whats going on with my car!! It's amazing. These guys are super nice and great at everything. I recently had another issue with my car which they could not fix because it had to do with a computer and needed to be done in a dealership but Hieu advised me on where to go and what to say so they wouldn't take advantage since I don't know too much about cars. Once they got the car to start at the dealership, the dude told me that even though they fixed the computer problem my car seemed to be struggling for gas, he was probably just trying to get money out of me, so i decided to go back to MP Auto and have them check it out, they assured everything was fine and again did not charge me to look at it. It's been a few weeks and my car is running fine. These guys are so HONEST! read more

I went in for a oil change at my Toyota dealership and they recommend I get my power steering hose replace otherwise I won't be able to pass the state inspection. Well the dealership wanted to charge me a lot of money for the part and labor.I decided to get a second opinion which lead me to these guys. I can't believe what I heard from these guys. Especially there was nothing wrong with the power steering hose and it was just replacing the clamps on the hose to stop the leaks. They had it done in less then 10 minutes. As I drove in I was immediately greeted, my car look at and service without having to wait for a long line. I could of been waiting at the dealership for roughly an hour and having to pay a lot of money out of pocket if it wasn't for the knowledge and expertise from the guys at MP Auto Repair. I honestly have never met a auto service repair shop who is genuinely striving to deliver outstanding service and these guys incredibly wants to provide an exceptional service.You will not be disappointed going to here to get your vehicle repair. This is the BEST place to go for getting your vehicle worked on. They have the best customer service I've ever experienced. No lie, it felt like we were their number one customer, and this was our first time there. I have never been inside an actual shop before, and they took us inside, lifted the vehicle, and showed us exactly what was wrong. Then, Hieu showed us the prices for the parts, and lowered them. By a lot. He also gave us deals on labor. We turned in the car around 12:30 and it was ready by 4:30 ON A SATURDAY. These guys do not play around, they want to give you the best service, and get you back on your way. When we picked up the vehicle, they showed us our old parts- the shocks, the broken control arms, and the old spark plugs. The owner even fixed my bumper that had been knocked out of position from a prior fender-bender, at no extra cost. Bottom line, these guys take great pride in what they do. read more

I found MP Auto Repair from reviews on Yelp. Hieu, Hung, and Minh are honest, friendly, and just awesome all around! I took my son's car to have the front struts replaced because of a clunking noise coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle. Hung took the car for a test drive and determined that the struts were not bad but the engine mounts were shot. Hieu and the mechanics took a second look and determined that was the problem. I left the vehicle with them on a Thursday and was told the vehicle would be ready late Friday or Saturday. To my amazement, I received a call early Friday that the car was ready! The guys at MP Auto worked on the car late into the night Thursday and early Friday morning. The price was great and the car is like new. You will definitely want to take your vehicle here for any needed repairs. read more

It is too bad that there is not a 6th star to rate MP Auto Repair!!! They are Excellent!!! Came in when my car was hesitating and the check engine soon light was on and felt like it needed a major tune up. Hieu and his team did the diagnosis and found that one of the spark plug lines needed a minor cleaning and my car was back in top shape. And all it cost was $7...and that was because i begged Hieu to take the money....lol I am just imagining if I would have taken it to a dealer since it is a Lincoln Town Car - probably $100 just roll it into the bay to have them take a look at it, and then the meter would really start running. For everyone reading this review, do yourself, your car, and your bank account a big favor and take your vehicle to MP Auto Repair. First let me start off by saying these guys ROCK.We have 2 Honda Accords my wife's car had started surging and being a senior citizen with a bad back my working on cars is limited now days ,so I replaced a few things but it was still doing it a little .So So we dropped her car off for them to give it a look and they found what I had missed and quickly fixed it,Then they went above and beyond they had noticed another issue they we hadn't even told them about and they fixed it too at no extra cost . Now my car needed the CV Joints replaced so I dropped it off and within 4 hrs I was driving around in a much safer car.I would and have highly recommend MP Auto Repair to anyone who needs work done they are reasonably priced and do GREAT work,in fact I am taking my car back today to have my air conditioner worked on. read more

Our experience with MP Auto Repair was among the most positive that we've had with any auto repair business anywhere. While visiting my husband's parents in Texas, he took a Toyota minivan with a broken side door to them to ask if it was the sort of thing they would be willing to deal with. Not only was Hieu willing to take on the problem, he laughed and said that his family used to own an identical van that had the exact same problem. He instantly knew the solution and they ordered the correct replacement parts from Toyota. Once the parts arrived and my husband returned with the van, they only required about an hour to make the door work like new - and at a price that was lower than Hieu's original estimate! I was having trouble with my clutch, my Mazda RX8. I first took it to City Garage, and they said I needed a whole new clutch kit and gave me an estimate of $1,600.00. I felt that was pretty high and didn't feel comfortable with them. So I took my car to MP Auto Repair. Hieu meet me in the parking lot and said he would take a look at it. After a lot of trouble shooting by Hieu, (he's awesome), he found the problem to be a $149.51, dollar part. They fixed it and everything runs perfect. This is the most honest well run auto shop I have ever been to. I belive that 5 stars are not enough for them. MP Auto will always be the place I take any vehicle to get repaired! I am extremely happy with MP Auto Repair! They know what they are doing and are very honest. They use original manufacture parts and let me verify for myself the part that was going in (some mechanics will put in a cheap part even if you are paying for the good parts). I feel that they are genuinely enthusiastic about providing great service. They were very informative and helpful explaining exactly what the problem was and the process to fix it. In addition they warned me about the dangers of using Stopleak showing me clogged radiators and hoses. They are great mechanics and very friendly people; I feel like family here! We took our Dodge Magnum in to get checked out, at other locations the price to fix just a few things was ridiculous. We had heard good things about this place through our family member and decided to give them a try. They were extremely friendly and super helpful. They gave us a quote super fast and when we went to pick up they showed us everything they purchased and what were the costs. The prices here were lower than anywhere else we went so they don't try to overcharge you like other locations. Love the way they do business and will continue to take any cars to their shop. Hieu and his crew are very polite, efficient, honest, and knowledgeable. I was so nervous about taking my car anywhere after I had taken it to some incredibly rude and dishonest technicians at Eagle Transmission in Arlington,TX. MP Auto Repair fixed the issues my car (98 Mazda Protege) had; replacement of belts and a cracked muffler within 1.5 hours, if that, and it was running better than when I had bought it as my first car. My husband and I have known Hieu since High School and he was very professional when it came down to fixing our vehicle. His quote was VERY reasonable compared to other places and he got our car in and out in no time. We were so pleased with his service that I recommended my mom to take her SUV in to repair the AC and she was very happy with the whole process. She doesn't speak very good English so when she had a question she would call me and the guys had no issues talking to me on the phone so I could let her know what was going on. This is a family owned and operated business and all the employees are very helpful and honest. I have taken my 2003 Santa Fe to them 4 different times and each time they do the work fast and efficiently. These guys are super honest and helpful. My father recommended them right after I moved back to Fort Worth and I drove out to get my car checked out. I thought my car had been driving oddly, so one of the mechanics at MP took it out for a spin, and told me there was nothing wrong with the car it just needed new tires. He even recommended a place to get good tires for cheap. They didn't make any money off of me but were giving of their time and helped keep me safe. The best auto shop EVER!!! I have spent more than $1000.00 on my Jeep with the dealership trying to take all my money & giving me the run around and other shops in Florida where I recently moved from. I had trouble with my sputtering and pretty much changed all I could and watched Youtube videos, still had a problem. I saw there review and gave it a chance and it was well worth it. i never write reviews but i had to in this instance. i went there on this past monday, my heat was not working and needed it repaired asap. service was great and professional and upfront. it took them all day to repair because had to take my dash panel out and had other vehicles before me. showed me parts they replaced and saved me at least $500 in cost, took time to test the heat and switch to air to confirm was just not a bypass like other shops do. great place, no bullshit i will return and refer others! thanks mp auto! read more
