I also felt intimidated that I would be talked down to because I have only researched treatments and have had no prior experience. I'm really thankful to say that my experience at Skin Refine Medspa has been extremely positive. I felt seen, heard and understood. Most of all I felt safe! I've been going to Skin Refine since January of last year and I absolutely loved my experience so much, I've been returning since and recommending them to my friends! Maryam has been incredible as my provider for fraxel laser, microneedling, and RHA redensity treatments. I've also received diamondglows here. It's a great refresher for your face. Maryam also provided tips on maximizing results and always takes your opinion in her recommendations. Altogether, my face has vastly improved. You can argue the treatments are pricy, but buying packages will get you a discount. I just think that's how the industry works so always get packages if you can. This place has a variety of treatment options, though they don't offer something like subcision, which is a more-involved procedure. But I'll just get that somewhere else and continue to come here for other treatments. Of course, they've recommended fillers and such for me. Rha redensity is like one. But they've been respectful that I prefer treatments like fraxel laser and such. There is a reason why they recommend filler though, because it does show faster results than others. The rha redensity provided the most improvement in a shorter time. They also have the skincare you need to purchase with ease. You're going to say those are expensive but they're not selling you products like La mer cream for $400. There is a parking lot, and there's always been space when I went, but the traffic getting there can be a bit much. All in all, I recommend doing at least one treatment here to see how you like it. You can also visit their instagram to see other's results. You might even see mine!

Rosalie had walked me through what to expect when I had originally reached out via email and text. Today I got to see everyone in person and it's great. Yasmin was the one who had room and numb me. Went over pre and post instructions. Showed her my inspo, she took some pics of my lips before and after. Nurse Michelle was my lip injector and she is as thorough as can be. Says if I want more and not satisfied with the results, come back to see her. I was so so scared. I work in Peds and give vaccines every day. She broke it down in a few syringes and was very gentle. I felt relaxed and had so many questions. I was a bleeder of course. lol. She checked in with me through the whole procedure. End results are what I cant wait to see. No matter how close I want to get my lips to be, it won't be perfect. I really love love love them so shout out to Nurse Michelle. I love her lips too. So naturally shaped. I was scheduled for double eyelid surgery on October 18th and traveled from Sacramento to San Jose for the procedure. Right before my appointment, Dr. Lay called to say he was "sick" and needed to reschedule. I was frustrated, but I tried to be understanding. He then booked me for November 15th at noon. I arrived early at 11:00 AM, only for him to cancel on me at 11:30 AM--thirty minutes before my surgery. He admitted he was still in bed, claiming he was "sick" again. There was no genuine apology, no urgency, no professionalism whatsoever. At that point, it was clear this doctor cannot be trusted with anyone's time, money, or medical care. I demanded a full refund and will never deal with him again. If you value your time and sanity, go elsewhere. The text message from Dr. Lay was sloppy. At this point it looked less like he was "sick" and more like he was hungover and couldn't even send a proper text.

While I was only about 20 minutes away from the office, I received a text message saying my appointment was being canceled. I immediately called the office because I was already on my way. The receptionist assured me everything was fine and told me to come in anyway, saying they would "work something out." After I arrived, I was told by the receptionist very rudely too there wasn't enough time to numb the area before my filler and that I would have to go through it without any numbing medication. I found that completely unacceptable. Their scheduling issue should never become the patient's problem, especially when it involves unnecessary pain. Only after I firmly objected then she suddenly decide they could numb the area after all. That tells me it was possible all along, but I had to argue just to receive the standard level of care. This entire experience was disorganized, stressful, and unprofessional. Canceling an appointment while a patient is already on the way, then asking them to accept a painful procedure because the office was behind schedule, is not how patients should be treated. I hope they improve their communication, scheduling, and respect for their patients' comfort and time. Very unprofessional and disrespectful receptionist... I felt discriminated im always very respectful to everyone but it seemed like she just didn't like me that's why she was giving me hard time

BACKSTORY: Two years ago I had a different friend who just finished a class for microblading. I was the second person she had ever done the microblading process on, but honestly I was just glad that I finally had eyebrows. Fast forward to the day I found My... my brows were faded and uneven, and needed HELP. I was constantly checking her page to see when her books would open, and I ended up setting an alarm at work to take a break just so I could book my appointment! LOCATION: The location is a very neat and tidy office in San Jose which she shares with her sister who does scalp tattoos! There is even a private parking lot just for MicroHair Studios clients, which was really convenient. I didn't realize that at first and parked on the street, but that was just as easy because it is near a residential street. PRICE: Her info is on her website, the price includes the complimentary touch up, and it is more than worth it!!! Cash and Venmo are accepted. RESULTS: My brows have never looked better. She fixed the shape, lifted the tail ends, made them even, and got the color PERFECT. Need I say more? My previous tattoo just barely shows at the tail ends since they were brought down too far initially, but the shape that My perfected for me exceeds all my expectations so much so that I don't even care that the old tattoo shows a bit! The old tattoo will fade soon anyway, plus I can cover it up with concealer for the time being lol. OVERALL: My is one of the most wonderful, friendly, and talented girls I have met to this day. She was so warm and welcoming, and talking to her made me feel like I was talking to an old friend. Her customer service is absolutely incredible and you can tell she really enjoys and cares about what she does! P.S. Did you know she even microbladed her own beautiful brows? Now THAT is a microblading artist you can trust. Thank you so so SO much, My, for my beautiful new eyebrows.
