I was hoping to avoid writing a 1 star review but...unfortunately, the whole project is so poorly done I'm hoping someone else can avoid the same pitfalls... TLDR: AVOID - find another contractor for your turf + landscaping projects as you'll eventually need to find someone else to fix all the mistakes in a few weeks/months + he doesn't follow up with fixing them (I gave him chance after chance and waited 7+ months before updating my review from 5 stars to a 1 star. I had Alberto install almost 3,000 sq ft of turf in my front yard + the borders and the below are what happened to the turf/borders after a few weeks (pictures of all points below attached). He continuously claims he's backed up and thus the delays for fixing...however, I gave him more than 7 months....which I believe is to be more than fair. Borders are coming apart and screws are all exposed. There are sections that are not holding any turf/sand back in multiple junctions. Pictures attached...with screws exposed like that, creates a dangerous hazard for kids/animals playing. Upon completion, I noticed that the turf lines between sections are extremely visible (similar to other reviewers). He said they should go away after some time, but after a few months, still very visible. I looked further and seems like either they're installed in opposing directions or there's simply not enough overlap between the sections. To compound that, most of the intersections are also coming apart....making the lines even more visible. Pile of sand still left on my driveway (been sitting there for months....). No one's picked them up yet. Turf comes off when you gently pull - not enough nails were used to attach the turf. I had to buy almost 100+ nails on Amazon to nail the turf down. Something you don't expect to do after spending $30+k but the lack of response from Alberto left me no choice. Uneven edges of the turf. Not sure why, but seems like some parts weren't evened out before turf installation and there's now pretty big (2-3 feet across) bumps in different sections of the turf. Contractor's license on the contract I signed was expired years before the project/contract (perhaps my fault, I should've checked before signing). But please do your due diligence and check/ask before signing anything. I'm extremely disappointed in the overall experience and now I have to spend more $ and time looking for contractors to finish/fix the project. I hope whoever reads this gets to avoid what we went through as they contemplate their next/future landscaping/turf/yard project. read more

He seems nice and genuine at first because he wants to sell you, but BEWARE and only go with this company at your own risk! He will say all the things you want to hear when you call him out for a quote, but do not believe a word Alberto says. My wife and I own multiple homes and have worked with many contractors and companies over the last 20 years, this company has to be the worst we've ever dealt with. His organization, attention to detail and professionalism are horrible and unacceptable. Having worked in the tech and medical fields, this level of disrespect and mistrust would not be tolerated. If you want the following, by all means proceed with signing a contract: * Does not pay attention to detail * Does not care about owners property * Picks up products for project that are damaged and does not check, he admitted he did not check certain product because he is in a rush, seriously! * Does not check work and if there are mistakes he blames the client * He admitted that his team does not pay attention to detail and will probably damage certain things because of it. Everyday his guys left trash everywhere and we had to remind them to pick up and clean up stuff, we shouldn't have to do that * Does not manage his team, allows guys to just sit and not work, gave excuse that he pays them per job and if the job is done for the day they can sit on their phones, WOW! * You tell Alberto stuff to work on, but he does not take notes and is not organized * Does not know how to prioritize daily and weekly work * Makes empty promises and does not deliver, you have to continually remind him of things you said and take extensive notes to give to him. Although we are paying the company to do this project work, you have to manage it on your own * Forgets things he said to owners about job and says he will get to it but never does * Does not work as a true project manager or contractor e.g. does not know how to communicate, does not stick to timeline, timeframe of project, does not order products in time to complete project, says he will be there to talk with you about project and makes excuses as to why he does not show up like he is managing his other companies or projects or he is working out. * Tries to hide shotty work from home owner by covering stuff up I would not go with this company regardless of what the other yelp reviews say, be very careful home owners! read more

We appreciate Alberto's speedy project delivery - they installed artificial turf in our front lawn, and we've received many compliments. MP's price was most reasonable amongst 3 other quotes. His men worked really quickly. My only tip is to be attentive to the quality of turf you choose; we selected a turf that we liked based on the samples he gave and was apparently within our original quote budget. However, a lower quality turf was installed instead. It's not a big deal considering we just wanted the project to be done quickly and it looked nice in the end. They also didn't nail the edges well enough that some parts were loose/curling, so I pointed it out and they rectified it. We have waves, wrinkles, and grain going in multiple directions in both our front and back yard. The work that was done is great, all my neighbors are impressed with it. However I have been trying to reach out for a few weeks for an issue regarding my landscape and got no answer. The work performed is supposedly under warranty, I really hope I won't have to use it in the future, as its been impossible to get in touch with Alberto recently. read more

I really respect all the team members that worked in our small backyard project. They really put a lot of effort to get things done especially Angel. Alberto had been very responsive at the beginning.He is very nice , very helpful and recommends good hints and tips.His price is competitive as well. But They are not good at finer details. If you are detail oriented person i won't recommend working with them. What happened in our project : they did not paint on top my fences in the pavers there are gaps in the intersection areas which are not filled with the locking sand properly. The last day he came and checked the project and wanted the money that we put hold . I really trusted him and gave him the money. I literally told him that what if you won't come to finish the details he said no worries I will come. I told I have heard it before he said no no I will come , if I don't come you can leave a Yelp review. I tried to text him, call him but no outcome so far. I waited before posting this review. Because I don't wanna simply overwrite all the Effort they put in our project. I would say I felt very disappointed. According to our contract our grass , pavers and irrigation systems are under warranty but I don't have any hopes Please consider pros and cons before working with him. I am really impressed with the work done by MPLANDSCAPE. We had pavers (-1500ft) and artificial grass (-1800ft) installed in the back and side yards. Scheduling was super easy once they broke ground, Alberto and his crew worked tirelessly to get the job done. I always like to get three estimates for my driveway when I received a phone call from Alberto from MP landscaping's he came out right away gave me a fair estimate and what I really like most of all was he could start right away. Everyone on his crew was very nice I'd like how my cement turned out and if I ever need them to come back on another project I will definitely call MP landscaping again! read more

It was easy to get an estimate. They were willing to do an on-site estimate but were able to quote a price based pictures. The price was the second lowest but I chose MP because during the estimate process they were easy to work with. We made an appointment to do the job for 9:30 am but at 9 they called to ask if they could come at noon. They did arrive promptly at noon and finished within the estimated time. The workers were very polite and considerate. I expected the owner to come by that afternoon to pick up a check and haul away the trailer with debris but he didn't come until the next morning. I would have appreciated a call to let me know what to expect and when he would show up. I am also considering an additional project and asked for an estimate for that. The owner just told me the totals for front and back but I would have preferred something in writing or at least a text message. So all in all, communication a little too casual for me, but easy and pleasant to work with and a job well done. read more
