I contacted Boss Heating and Cooling for a ductless AC installation at my house. Contractors of…read moreall sorts are very backed up right now; but Boss was very responsive, and was able to send someone within a few days to get me an estimate. During the installation, Paul was very professional with his work, but also very personable. Boss is clearly a company that builds client trust. I asked Paul about the cooling capacity for the system being installed, since my living room has a heat sources and gets extremely hot (e.g. 80 degrees outside, 78 degrees inside with a window unit was not uncommon for me to see). He told me he initially thought it was oversized, but with the vaulted ceilings and additional heat sources (e.g. kitchen stove), it should be the right size. When the installation was complete, it was about mid-70s outside, and high 70s in my living room. 20 minutes of running the AC, and my living room was now 72 degrees. So, their estimate was spot on! For anything regarding heating/cooling in the future, I will be contacting Boss.

I was charged travel time and also the plumbers time at the shop to prepare for the installation. I was also charged a $10 fuel charge. ( I live less than 2 miles away from shop. The plumbers returned and completed the job with no problems. They spent exactly 55 minutes at my home. The labor charge was for 2 hours at $135 per hour. The company came, did the job and left. I'd called Vortech for the restart and boiler service. They made us wait a day. Seeing as it was very warm out in the beginning of October, no problem... Fast forward to the day after Thanksgiving. Woke to go to work at 0500. Turn in the shower, no hit water. Turn up the heat, no heat. House is already down to 57* inside. No big deal. Remained calm. On my way in this morning, I left Vortech HVAC a message. Probably just a quick reset, maybe a part issue, I don't know. I'm not a boiler guy. An hour later, I get a call. Woman on the line, after I explained I had no heat/hot water says, "We don't normally do emergencies responses on weekends. It's an industry standard." Really?
