When I contacted the company, they asked for $300 to reseal it, which feels unreasonable given that this appears to be an installation issue. I even offered to wait until they were working in the area, since it's a quick fix, but they were not willing to accommodate. I would recommend looking for a company that stands behind its work and provides better long-term support. Also, if possible, avoid placing seams near the sink--what seems like a minor detail can lead to significant damage over time.

Terrible Work, Impossible to Schedule, and did work two weeks after they said they would…read more I worked with St. Joseph Granite to fabricate and install granite for both units in a duplex. I went with them because Vagner was great at selling me on the business and they had a great price ($5 cheaper than competitors per sq ft) and had great Yelp reviews. After I gave them a down payment is when the problems started. I called St. Joseph on a Monday, they had a guy out there Tuesday to measure and had me a quote by that afternoon. We worked out some details and I gave them a deposit on Thursday. Vagner said they'd do the install the following Tuesday, then changed to Wednesday, then changed three more times over the next two weeks. They texted me at 10:15am the day they did the install asking if they could do it at 11:30am. This was after I'd already been waiting two weeks. Their actual install work was awful. Granted, the house is a hundred years old so one can expect some issues, but having hired a few granite companies I'd say this was a pretty amateur job: - One of the countertops didn't touch the cabinet on the front edge at all which means the granite could break if there's too much weight on it or pull out from the wall - The other three counters touched on the front edge but only in one or two places - Backsplash had a 3/8 inch gap and didn't touch the wall - They snapped the kitchen drain pipe when the removed the old sink - They cut original 100 year old cabinets and "fixed" the structural parts using my finish brad gun which is way to small for structural work - Electrical outlet was out of the wall and couldn't be pushed back in because the backsplash was installed under it - Only used two brackets to hold the undermount sinks in place - one of the brackets that was there fell out when I touched it (manufacturer recommends 8 per sink) - Sink they supplied didn't fit properly into the sink cutout I texted Vagner with pictures of the problems and let them know it wasn't done right. He immediately tried to charge my card for the balance without responding, however I got a fraud notification and it didn't go through. Vagner then told me that my cabinets weren't level and it wasn't their fault. I asked if they were installed correctly and he combatively asked me what I wanted him to do because the cabinets were the problem, not their work. I hired someone else to fix their work. They were half the price of Home Depot, but you get what you pay for.

The State of Massachusetts, via the Massachusetts Building Code Appeals Board, recently reviewed my project with Millbrook Modular homes. The state determined: "During the construction of [the home], the builder deviated from the approved plans. The deviations were so extreme that the final HERS score came in 25 points worse at a 70. The modelled annual utility costs for [the home] and the final HERS report more than tripled compared to the projected report, that was submitted with the approved plans." That about sums it up. __________________________________________________________ But don't take my word for how Cary Orlandi feels about his customers. Take his. The following is an unedited excerpt from an actual email he sent my town's building commissioner, which I obtained through a public records request. "This guy is a stay at home Mom and is crazy but very intelligent. This is all about wearing everybody down to get a pay off. I think your plan the house needs to be approved as a major renovation He was part of all of these decisions He needs to let me in to weather strip one door (which is the new rule) And the 63 HRS rater score sticks. Or he gets out and will be fined If you allow him to stay he needs to sign off a formal agreement stating he is fully and accepts it as a Major Renovation Or he needs to vacate the house and will be fine $1,000 per day. This scares him. I believe this is the only way he will back off. This is within your rights. During the hearing, the chair of the Building Code Appeals Board, Jeffrey Clemons, noted: "All of the documents show preliminarily a 45 HERS, with R38 in the floor, and R60 in the ceiling, and so on and so forth. And it was altered from that without approval." __________________________________________________________ The state then made this unanimous conclusion: "Therefore, a Motion was made by Ross Seavey, that was seconded by Jake Nunnemacher, to make an INTERPRETATION that based on the facts presented, this project does not meet the requirements of a major alteration. We ordered some tiles for our kitchen through FC. To avoid freight charges of more than what the tiles cost, we picked them up at a third party warehouse, about 45 mins away. Upon entering, some pleasant employees were outside and directed us where to go. When inside, the man behind the desk, was very unhelpful. He asked what the order number was and I responded with that. His tone of voice replied with "that isn't one of ours" and I showed him the email and pointed of that was the order number as he requested. He then saw the reference number and said "I need that reference number." OK then and I thought to myself, I gave you what you asked before which was the order number, maybe he should've known what their company calls them! I was under the impression that we were an inconvenience to him because we were not a big ticket customer. He had no personality skills, as I am sure most of his job is done behind the desk. He concluded the pick up with "back your car up, they'll be out in a minute" . No thank you, nothing. My advice. Smile buddy, it goes a long way.
