So much flavor!The gyro omelette was good twist on a traditional meal. Maple bacon is always a favorite. Chicken noodle soup was so thick and chalked full of chicken and fresh veggies that they could slap on a pastry crust and call it chicken pot pie. Yummy either way. They got a new espresso machine and the teens were pleased with the lattes too. But if u just like coffee, it is something you will want refills on. It really is as good as it gets. Joe, the owner, insists that he's doing nothing special here. He says that he just makes regular food that everyone makes, but he makes it from scratch and that's the way it should be made. Well, right there is the specialty. Here in central WI there is just not enough of that in a restaurant. When you come across it though, prepare for a ride that really is in its own league. Even if Mr. and Mrs. P's was located amongst many options in a big city, it would STILL be my go-to. My wife and I had our first experience the other day, and we will be going back this weekend again. I have to have more. Here is the thing here: you have to understand a sandwich is not a sandwich, fries are not fries..... they are the BEST sandwich and the BEST fries you've ever had. Think about it: how many of each have you had? They are run-of-the-mill anymore. Now listen to me: what would it take to top all of the many many different ones you've experienced EVER? You just have to hit this next-level kind of place. The specifics then. My wife had the lobster roll special. The brioche bun was perfectly butter-toasted. The lobster salad inside had the right mix of creamy to meaty. Then the FLAVOR! How they do a lemon/tarragon orgasm I don't know. They do it. The dish comes with homemade cucumber salad and homemade chips. Ever sliced a potato, flash-fry them, and season perfectly? That is THIS. I ordered the all-you-can-eat haddock. The loins were hand breaded in corn meal, they were fried up perfectly, and the delicious tangy tartar set it off. The fries???? Man. Fresh cut potatoes and they are cooked up in DIFFERENT oil than the fish. Thank you God and baby Jesus. Care and skill. My dish was complemented by sweet red cabbage. Tasty like a German made it. Then I chose the chicken noodle soup to start. How do I describe the best soup you'll have? All fresh, big chunks of carrot/onion, seasoned stock, tiny bit of cream, FRESH noodle. Oh man you don't even know..... OK then I need to talk about the pies. Kathy does those and you can tell she is professionally trained. We pre-ordered a french silk and a banana cream to take home. There is freshness, flavor, richness, and NOTHING overdone. All the right crusts were made (chocolate for the silk, graham for the cream), the custards were RIGHT, and the cream tops had the flavor you'd expect from a professional gourmet chef. Guys- remember we're talking about Ripon, WI here.... this isn't the big city but rest assured you are tasting the most high-end foods you'd have anywhere. My suggestions? Drive out of your way if you have to. Get to this restaurant. To me it's worth a 30 min drive each way...literally. Next we are doing breakfast. I count the days. My boyfriend and I have gone there a few times and they always provide friendly mom and pop service. They food is always fresh made, and the cookies are always yum! The other pastries look delicious but we've never had room to try one. Also, every time we're there, there are always a lot of people but we're usually waited on pretty swiftly. The food that my mother, my sister and I got was fantastic. The meal, the coffee and the deserts, also amazing. The quiches my sister and i received just amazing, in every way. However, we ordered eggs benedict to-go for my father; we asked for the classic with hollandaise and canadian bacon. What we recieved was ham and your run of the mill nacho cheese sauce from the ball park. The eggs benedict was a gift for my father on their 35th wedding anniversary. My mother was devastated. Update: I have been told by tbe owner they dont sell cheese sauce and dont have it in their restaurant. My father is almost 67 and confirms it was cheese sauce. read more

The secret is out because they run out on the weekends. The biscuit and gravy is amazing (although lately they've been just a bit stingy on the gravy). The biscuit is the best I've ever had. Everything on the breakfast menu is very good. Service is excellent and they can really crank out the food so wait times are minimal and always worth it. read more

I went at lunch but opted to go for the chicken and waffles and was I ever happy that I did! 5 freshly battered chicken strips served on top of a monster waffle. Always been intrigued by this place when we've been in town as it's never been open. Well, lo and behold, it was open this past weekend so we had to give it a try. Ordered the western omelette and wife had the biscuits and gravy. Omelette was three-egger, so it was huge, but they don't skimp on the ingredients and it was perfectly done. The breakfast potatoes were also nice and crispy and their own jams were stinkin' fantastic, the cherry-berry in particular was yummy. Wife really liked her biscuits and gravy. This place was winner. Thanks Yelpers! This place was a great find! I had a western omelette with added mushrooms with a side of corned beef hash, sourdough toast with homemade strawberry rhubarb jam. So good. The omelette was perfectly fluffy and the corned beef hash was unlike any I've had. I don't know why everyone doesn't make it with larger bits of potato and corned beef like this! Loved it! Ambiance, staff and price were a 5star. Btw, if you've never had strawberry rhubarb on sourdough (or on anything for that matter) do yourself a favor. read more

Great, little, locally owned and run breakfast/lunch shop in Ripon. The menu is many breakfast favorites and also typical lunch wraps, burgers, and sandwiches. The interior is really open and minimal with lots of wood and light. I was on the fence between breakfast and lunch, but opted for lunch. The cheese curds were perfectly fried and the whole table enjoyed them with the dill-ranch sauce they came with. I opted for chicken soup and the BLT. The chicken soup was flavorful and is as good as other reviews call it out to be. The soup was perfect and the egg noodles in it added some great texture and just hit the spot. The BLT was assembled with 2 pieces of bread, but they were thick Texas Toast- they were perfectly toasted and then filled with the bacon, lettuce, and tomato. One of the best BLT's I've had in the last few years. The chips were also spot on. Normally, when a place has house-made chips they are hit or miss- these were perfect, every chip was seasoned and light and crispy. The service was top notch- our waitress was very responsive and checked table frequently. Additionally, the bussers and all the rest of the staff were flying around the restaurant with purpose. At a lot of restaurants, the staff moves at their own pace- at Mr. & Mrs. P's, the staff was hustling and doing an excellent job at clearing tables, taking orders, and delivering food. It was very refreshing to see their enthusiasm and they should be recognized for it, especially on a busy Sunday morning. The menu looks great and I was excited about the breakfast burrito. However not only was everyone at my table served except me, they offered me no apology for the mix up and the additional 10 minute wait. In fact, before going to check on my order, the waitress went to another table instead of straight to the kitchen. Everyone in my party of 4 was practically done with their meal before I even got mine. The burrito itself wasn't great, wasn't bad. It did leave something to be desired... Maybe more spice, or salsa or the addition of cilantro? Not sure. The tortilla was too thin and I ended up with the burrito all over. As I was trying to eat it and keep it together, the waitress walks up and says "yeah! Get it girl!" I'm sorry but not only is this unprofessional but it's also rude. Do not let a full parking lot fool you. We stopped the other day for lunch about 12:50pm. The parking lot was full, and there were cars parked on both sides of the road for about a block. When we first walked in it looked pretty full, but there were a few tables open, and it looked like a lot of the guest were just finishing up. There was only one person up front handling seating and the register, so it was a bit of wait to get to out table. One we were seated were were promptly great by a friendly waitress to take out drink orders. We had looked at the large list of specials as we walked in, but there were too many to remember, but that is OK, I already knew what I wanted. The coffee was really good, even the second cup after I spilled my first cup. I love meatloaf, so I ordered the meatloaf dinner, my wife ordered the turkey sandwich. Even though the place was pretty busy the food arrived quickly. The portions were pretty good sized, but I had a few issues. The meatloaf had a nice flavor, but it was sliced so thin and then reheated on a flattop that it was crispy, and kind of dry. The tomato demi was fabulous but there was not much of it. The fresh mashed potatoes were good, but they were served dry. I asked for a serving of beef gravy to put on them and I was not disappointing, (looking forward to trying the roast beef) it was really good too. The broccoli was very fresh and cooked perfectly. My wife's turkey sandwich was fabulous and huge. I tasted the meat and was very pleased with the taste and texture. On the way out we shared a salted caramel bar and it was great. Overall I really enjoyed our meal. I wish the meatloaf was a bit thicker and not so dry, but other than that I am looking forward to our next visit. read more
