The main issue was that I was charged $89 for the diagnostic call by FiXiFy Repair, when the original booking site claimed a diagnostic visit cost $60. I am not sure how my call got outsourced from Mint to housecallpro to FiXiFy Repair, and I don't much care, except that if the price was going to rise by 50%, that should have been disclosed. Mint has no business advertising $60 house calls if it's not going to deliver said price. EDIT: the morning after I posted this review, FiXiFy Repair called to apologize, and refunded the $30 difference from the advertised price. So I am still not sure exactly what happened, but at least they take pains to do right by their customers.
