I replaced the coil and plugs and the check engine remained on. Took it to a shop and i get told that oh by the way it needs an engine. Cam and lifter failure with metal in the oil. So i got hosed, 12k engine job i can't afford to do and a truck I can't really drive and making payments on. Not even 3000 miles driven since I bought it.

They have deceptive trade practices there is zero help and when things go wrong. They stall stall stall, hoping that you'll go away. LoJack is a joke. Their service department is a joke. The whole sales department is a joke. Financing is a joke stay away or you will be burned like I was. 10 repairs since April and still nothing but issues and problems! All under 5000 miles! If things are this screwed up this early I can only imagine how bad it's going to be to use their warranty when it's a tire or more electrical issues as I've had nothing but problems since driving it off the lot with 119 miles on it. They DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER AND IT SHOWS! Caveat emptor!!!!

However, they neglected to find these obvious issues. Keep in mind I was told before service and after that they top off what needs to be topped off. 1. Radiator coolant was at the minimum before service. The radiator coolant remained at the minimum after service. They topped it off after I pointed it out, but I shouldn't have to. 2. Antifreeze was at the minimum going in and is still at the minimum. I will be topping it off before going to another dealership to have it flushed out and replaced. 3. They mentioned they checked the engine air filter and it was fine. Upon inspection at home, the dust on the air filter cover was undisturbed showing they had not touched it. Upon inspecting the air filter, it was painfully clear that it was not checked and was desperately needing replaced. A picture is provided. 4. They mentioned the cabin air filter was also checked and was fine. After removing the filter, it was clearly evident that it wasn't checked as it was disgusting. A picture is provided. I don't know if it's because they lost their master mechanic (what they told me) so it's inexperience, or if it was laziness, or a scam, but they have lost all my trust and I will never go there again. I will be going elsewhere for another inspection to see what else was missed.

On test driving it, the code for the catalytic converter was read at an AutoZone when the check engine light came on. Al assured me he'd take care of it ("Just a sensor issue, as it's had the cat replaced."). No code on my next test drive. Completed the sale quickly. A month later, the code was back. It has other issues, too, but I can accept that I bought an old truck and took on that responsibility. However, after several emails trying to get Excel to at least cover the expense of replacing the catalytic converter, they've stopped responding all together. My only real recourse is online reviews, letting other folks know they might not be working with folks who have their interests in mind. I have since found all tire pressure sensors are bad, there's a fuel system issue that I haven't diagnosed yet, there was an underpowered battery installed (a marine battery!?), truck doesn't start now--probably the starter--and the bed cross sills are rotting through, so I need the whole bed replaced. Or possibly a new truck, from a reputable dealer. Not Excel.
