I've had food from here a couple of times but yesterday was the first time I went inside the store. I have been buying fried chicken from Giant Eagle, Miles Market these past few years but in the past, I've solidly depended on KFC because...you guys, let's admit when chains are actually good. I kept comparing Mr. Chicken to KFC and I gotta say it falls short. Mr. Chicken batter is crunchy and good but it is too salty and not flaky enough. The thigh pieces were a little bit undercooked. I did love the corn muffin much better than their biscuit b/c I never really like the biscuits. Why don't places just do corn muffins instead of biscuits? Anyways, Mr. Chicken's muffins were BOMB--moist, sweet, fluffy, mmmm! But their cole slaw was too watery and liquidy; not enough of the actual slaw. Taste was pretty good but a little too sweet for me. The mashed potatoes and gravy were waaaay too watery. KFC's buttery version is so much better. The gravy was too mixed in with the instant potato whereas the KFC version always has the gravy neatly on top like an ice cream sundae. Prices were kind of higher for the value of the meal and for 2 adults + 1 child, the family chicken meal AND a chicken sandwich was not enough. Also Mr. Chicken is so stingy with the sauce! They don't even HAVE hot sauce packets and anything else like honey mustard or BBQ is an extra charge! KFC had so many varieties and did not charge (or at least they didn't in 2024 and before!). read more

Disappointed. 3 dollar fries had 14 fries. 3 dollar coleslaw was all dressing with very little cabbage and was a 2 oz container. meat was dry on sandwich. had no lettuce or tomato because.... they don't use them according to the server. 30 dollars total for 2 chicken sandwich deals, fries and coleslaw. Wednesday at lunch time the drive-thru line was long, and it wasn't moving. The nice lady over the speaker said, Chicken was in high demand. The Wednesday special was a three piece dinner for $7.49. French fries are .99 cents more to change out the mashed potatoes. Once I got the meal home, surprise! There was an extra wing, maybe due to the long wait. That was very nice. The dinner was delicious like Mr. Chicken always is. But beware, if the drive-thru line is out to the street there will be a wait. The dining room isn't open. read more

Staff was too laid back & have to repeat your order several times before they get it. After ordering I was then told i would need to wait another 17 minutes because they didn't have the chicken breast i ordered ready. I've been here a few times. The staff is typically very friendly. The food is typically hot. You have to wait a while for it but it's not a big deal. The service and food can be hit or miss though. Today I ordered the homestyle chicken sandwich and instead of the way it usually comes, a nice big chicken breast with crunchy breading, it ended up being two small chicken tenders on the bun. Very expensive- $17 for 8 pieces of chicken is outrageous. Small sides are $2.09. The ranch dressing is disgusting and 99 cents per small foam cup. The chicken was hot and juicy which is great but doesn't make it worth the expensive price. The barbecue bacon chicken sandwich had a large tender piece of fried boneless chicken which was the only pleasant part of the sandwich which was also pricey at nearly $6! It was smothered with a sauce that can only be described as a cheap Jack Daniels barbecue sauce- woeful sweetness and uncomplementary whiskey notes. This Mr Chicken restaurant used to be really great I just left there today at about 1:15 p.m. I waited an extended amount of time which was okay thinking my chicken was going to be probably extra fresh much to my surprise it was not . The mashed potatoes were watery the chicken tasted old some parts were right at the point of having a quite a bit of pink the skin was pulled off of it the biscuit was old not fresh it just wasn't if we're going to pay these elevated prices for two pieces of chicken mashed potatoes that are instant and biscuits that are old at least give us fresh food gee whiz I never write bad reviews and I try not to but I'm just about tired of going to these places and spending just about $10 for a two pieces of chicken and getting terrible food lately I just been cooking my own which tastes great today I was just giving another chance to our fast food industry and no I was not going to call and speak with the manager or talk about the person who gave me the food or argue or try and get another meal none of that's worth it putting a review up telling the truth I have no reason to tell any lies about this I don't even know these people read more

Chicken tenders were good. The fried chicken wasnt that good. They gave us 2 extra chicken tenders because of the 20 minute wait,but forgot the coleslaw. I really have been weary of trying this place out because of the low reviews, but since it was mainly based on service for the negative reviews I figured they still deserved a try. I ordered a 3 piece white meal,which came with a biscuit, slaw and mashed potatoes. I went inside to place my order and the young lady at the cash register was a breath of fresh air and very helpful as she explained things on the menu and made suggestions, I even chatted it up with another customer who said she always comes here when her kids come on town, because they love the here. My chicken tasted soooo frickin good! It was hot, the biscuit was soft and fluffy and the cole slaw and mashed potatoes had great flavor! I wanted to wait to write this review and try them out a few more times, to see I experienced any of the negativity in the reviews. I drove through here one night and got some whitefish and mashed potatoes to go. In fact, I think everything is to-go here as it appears to not have a dining room. The place isn't all that expensive, in fact it seems pretty low-end but the food I got was quite good for the price and I consider it a great value. I thought their macaroni salad was a bit expensive at $1.69 for a small container but it was quite good. Overall not a bad value and my order, unlike the last reviewer on here, was 100% correct. The servers were friendly enough as well. If I'm in the area again I'll come back and check out some of their chicken for sure. read more

Such a crappy location. They forgot our biscuits and there was a hair in our food. We didn't get a receipt, so there was no way to "prove" anything once we got back to our place. I wish I could give zero stars. I thankfully have two other locations within 15 mins of me, so maybe I'll try those ones instead. read more

I've been to this place too many times over the past 2 decades or so. I don't think I have ever once been satisfied with this place. Really if you want any type of chicken, do yourself a favor and get it anywhere else. I'd say in the past few months I've gotten 10-15 lunches from them (given to me I wouldn't spend a dime here) and I'm cheap so I pick at it. Consistently raw inside, junk sides that I bet all come in a bag before dumped into serving trays. So overall the food is near inedible, and I doubt they've had an employee who cares or even tries to do a decent job in 20 years. How has this chain stuck around? On the plus side, Wednesdays I think there's a cheap deal, and if you have COVID you won't be able to taste it. read more

Yesterday I pulled up at mr chicken around 834. There was a car ahead of me. They took about ten minutes to finally take the car ahead of me order. Once the car ahead pulled off I pulled forward and another car pulled behind me. Once I got to the voice box a recording stated they were closed. It was 845. So I was stuck behind the car waiting for their food (another 10 minutes.) and a car behind me. Once the car pulled off in front of me I waited at the window to speak to someone. A manager (refused to tell me her name) swiftly stated we're closed and there's nothing we can do about it. She would even really listen to my frustration as I was forced to wait in the line. I asked for corporate number then pulled off. I'm highly disappointed and I'm a huge neighborhood influence and I will make sure my voice is heard that they loose tremendous business from the way I was treated. Shame on you! WORST CHICKEN PLACE I'VE EVER BEEN TO! My roommate, her brother and myself went through this establishments drive-thru window. We ordered a large combo bucket with a few sides. As soon as we were on our way home we noticed something wrong. THERE WAS NO SILVERWARE OR NAPKINS! So, on the way home I called Mr. Chicken from the number on the receipt and I asked if they forgot something with our order? There were no utensils or napkins. The employee replied back to me "We only give out utensils and napkins upon request." WHAT?? So everyone who comes through the drive-thru does not receive anything else with their order unless they ask? Apparently so. I replied back, "Thank you, we will not be returning to your store". I then hung up and we couldn't eat until we arrived at home. Luckily, we were close. The food was not worth the wait though. Furthermore it wasn't even properly placed in the bag. They actually put the lid on the mac-n-cheese then placed it in the bag upside down! Overall, the food was TERRIBLE. The chicken was room temp, the mashed potatoes were dry and tasted like a box while the mac-n-cheese was soggy and barely had a cheesy taste. Stupidly tried this place for lunch during the work day. Just to go somewhere different for a change. Grilled chicken wrap looked good with healthy amount of deep green colored lettuce. Undortunately the chicken was hard as a rock. Like way overcooked baked; not grilled. Stopped after one bite because the chicken made me worry about food quality overall.
