So the price went up quite significantly, but still about a third the last cleaners had charged me and left the excess water. Nevertheless, given his track record as expressed in prior Yelp reviews, I thought I'd give him a chance. The carpet looked great when he finished, and it dried a lot faster than the last cleaner's efforts. So, fingers crossed--one week after his visit and no stains reappearing, and the carpet still looks good. So far I'd say I spent a whole lot less than prior cleaners and the results are better. One day I received a text that my cleaner was in an accident and wouldn't arrive. I found out later that was a lie. She and her family were picked up by ICE and deported though they are not gang members nor criminals. They sent someone else who seemed completely untrained and ill prepared to clean my home. She used an abrasive pad on the stainless steel trim on my custom Elmira stove that permanently scratched the surface. This appliance matches my custom refrigerator, major features of my home. On top of that she did not have a vacuum cleaner. Instead of asking to use my vacuum cleaner she left with the floors still dirty. I hoped that my previous cleaner would return but instead they sent another subpar cleaner who arrived without a vacuum cleaner. I started thinking they are just hiring anyone off of the equivalent of Craigs list. Since then they have done nothing regarding the damage to my appliance.
