We had a large group order for lunch and they were so sweet and accommodating! It didn't take too long either. When we got back to the office, the food was on point! We all enjoyed what we ordered...I had the Greek salad with gyro meat (so so good - perfect balance of greens, veggies, and meat) , French fries w/cheese dip (so so good...like fried perfectly and crispy on the outside...I barely ate my cheese dip). Whenever I'm in the area, I'll return! And I loved all the Chicago sports memorabilia! read more

I was a customer here. I also drive for doordash. I was assigned two orders to pick up from this place today. The kid at the counter handed me cups and told me to fill the cups for the customers. Doordash frowns upon this. We do not have food safety certification and we've been driving possibly not washing our hands. I personally would not want a doordash driver to fill my drink at a restaurant. Doordash doesn't want us to do it either. But this kid was so full of himself that he decided he was not going to go around the counter and fill these drinks for me and instead contacted doordash and tried to get me in trouble. Without looking into the matter, doordash took the orders away from me. On my way back to my car the same two orders popped up offering me to deliver. I walked back into the place and told the kid that I was sent back to pick them up again and he refused to give me the orders. He thought he was pretty funny and he was being a real jerk. I called doordash and within a couple minutes I was reimbursed for my time very satisfactorily. Unfortunately, the two customers that I was supposed to deliver to had to wait a very long time for their delivery because this little kid was a jerk. I hope the owner reads this because I've been going there for years as a customer. I'm also a doordash customer, and if I knew that my order was delayed by nearly a half an hour and probably cold because this little jerk had to be a tough guy, I would be pissed. The owner of this place should be pissed because that kid just jeopardized multiple customers from ever coming back, including me. What a little s*** head.. read more

Got stuck at the Chevy dealer longer than expected. Walked over for a hot dog and fry. First thing,sign at entry door says$11.50 for 2dog special,but when you get to register small sign says $12.50. WTF ? Idiot taken orders is more interested in his phone than taken the order right. Had to repeat my order 3 times,which made me question if it will be right. Fries were correct,but the dogs were GROSS, seemed as if they had been in the water way too long, mushy ! The pickle spear was so small,I just had to laugh. This place is a joke !!! When you walk in the front door,you can enjoy the smell of sewer, as it is disgusting,since you're there to eat. Save your money,go somewhere else,as you can see from my prior posts,nothing has changed in a year. While the service was great, the food really wasn't. First bite of my burger and I could tell it was a frozen patty. Mozzarella sticks and fries were average at best. It also wasn't overly clean. Had to settle for the 'most clean' table we could find. All that, along with almost $45 for the food. Unfortunately, I would not return. read more

The barbecue ribs were incredibly delicious and cooked perfectly, so tender that the bones slipped out effortlessly. I'll leave the taste test up to you, but be prepared to dig in with your fingers! Plus, the staff were very respectful and welcoming. read more

I've lived in Elgin since 2015 and Mr. C's is near our house. When we first moved in they were so good, but have since went way downhill. The menu is no longer accurate, the 1/2 Greek chicken meal used to be great, but now they skim almost all of the meat off of the chicken breast and thigh! We continue ordering from them because we keep giving them "yet another chance" thinking that maybe it was just a mistake. However, this is their normal practice. Menu items say one thing, but when placing an order, we are told that "we no longer do that". An example of this was when we ordered Mostaccioli. The menu says that you can pay one price without meat, or another price for sausage or 2-meatballs. They now just charge separately, which would be fine if they had an accurate menu. They consistently forget to include order items that come with your meal too, such as the side salad, or the bread and butter. We are going to see if we can find another place that doesn't "cheap out" on their customers. read more

Drinks were Pepsi which is a plus in my book. Service was good. But quite slow. Nobody waiting in front of me. One To Go order ahead of me. Took over 10 minutes to get my two hot dogs. I used to work in an office next door to Mr C's and was a frequent and happy customer for years. I used to go in on Saturday mornings and they made an amazing bacon and egg sandwich. Their hot dogs, sausages, milkshakes, and surprisingly diverse menu are always freshly made to order. And it is super affordable. This is Mom and Pop, local cooking at its finest. My wife and I were back tonight. I had the Italian sausage and my lovely spouse had the charboiled Rowdy dog Chicago style. Both were flavorful, juicy and made to perfection. The fries were hot, crispy, and delicious. They always have cool specials too. Mr C's is most definitely worth your business!! read more

Employees who were prepping the food were NOT wearing masks. When asked about wearing masks, they began to argue that they didn't need to wear them and that it is hot in the kitchen. The good was pretty good. I got the Turkey burger which was a standard burger and then I got the inferno wings and those were SUPER SPICY. I love spicy but for those who cannot tolerate spicy well DO NOT GET THESE. I have to agree with some of the comments about the staff not wearing masks. These folks need to do their part to stop the pandemic and they aren't. No plexi glass barriers around the ordering station either so the staff needs to start wearing masks. read more

The staff is always friend, and you get your food pretty fast. The only critique is that we find the fries to be a bit oily. However, when we get home we throw them into the air fryer, on a rack, to crisp them up and drain the oil. Then all is well! It doesn't stop us from getting food there, because we enjoy everything else "as is". read more

I had a pretty good experience here! We decided to try this place out because of the yelp deal and were not disappointed. The interior wasn't all that fancy but it was comfortable and clean. I did not have a problem dining in. The service was very good! The girl who took our order was very friendly and offered suggestions. It looked like there were a few items I wouldn't mind trying from the menu. The food was decent. We ordered chili cheese dogs and fries. They were alright. The cheese wasn't my favorite. It was nacho cheese. I would prefer a different kind of hot dog next time. The fries were decent too.
