I'm working on a job site with all my tools on the back of my truck. Walked in to unload some materials and these assholes pulled up and took my truck! I called the office and sure enough the receptionist says that they have my truck and it will cost me $250 to get my truck back. I had the owner of the property call them and give them shit and they towed my truck back to the property. I don't know how these people wake up in the morning and look at themselves! My car was unlawfully towed from the Los Alamitos Towne Center parking lot. They had no signs posted on any of the 3 western entrances. When I found my car missing I looked around the lot looking for more signs which I found only at the complete opposite side of the strip mall- these signs were also out of compliance with the law. I tried explaining this but Mr. C's was rude and would not listen. They refused to let me speak to a manager. I called multiple times to speak with someone higher up who could help and was denied each time. Know the law if you were unlawfully towed as well so you can fight it: Look up cvc22658 I'm really frustrated that this company wouldn't take the time to listen to me or even speak with me about the situation, especially management. There is displayed, in plain view at all entrances to the property, a sign not less than 17 inches by 22 inches in size, with lettering not less than one inch in height, prohibiting public parking and indicating that vehicles will be removed at the owner's expense, and containing the telephone number of the local traffic law enforcement agency and the name and telephone number of each towing company that is a party to a written general towing authorization agreement with the owner or person in lawful possession of the property. The sign may also indicate that a citation may also be issued for the violation. **update: I spoke with property management who said they have no security company and no contracts with anyone to tow on their property and that they didn't authorize a tow. I don't write reviews often. But this is simply past shady business practice. My Gf went to Downey and parked her car at the embassy suite hotel. Next day, the car is gone. She files a police report and 4 days later, she gets a call from Mr Cs towing saying that they towed her car because it was parked in a handicap zone. My gf didnt park in a handicap area. That's a blatant lie, and cameras at the hotel show that. At any rate, Mr Cs rep calls my gf and tells her that someone should've called her and told her that they have her car, but it's going to be $500 to get it back. I'm not insinuating that they straight up stole her car from the parking lot, but it doesnt take a genius to see Mr Cs is the one that profited from this. My gf is too sweet to report these crooks. But I'm going to the BBB and notifying the attorney General about these scumbags. They should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of good hard working people. Btw, my gf is a student and that car was her only way around not only for her but her family. Criminals! I parked where I shouldn't have and got towed. My bad. I didn't complain, i paid my fine and expected to be on my way. However, the people here are crude, they do not have any communication skills what so ever. They demanded their money, scoffed whenever you asked a question. I paid, then waited patiently for 20mins. No car yet. There are signs that say it may take 20 mins. So i walk up to window and politely ask how much longer. The lady at the window is incredulous that i bother her while she just sits behind the security monitored window while she's shoveling something down her gullet. A guy walks out with menacing body posture, walks right up to me and says, "might be a minute." Laughs and walks off. I'm heated at this moment, but keep my cool. And now with every 5 mins that passes I politely ask how much longer. The is still shoveling sh$* down her face and only shrugs each time. 1hr 10mins some guy walks out and says follow me. Im ready for crazy if need be, but i keep my cool. The guy only points at my car and barks at me to back it out of the maze of other cars they're holding for ransom. I'm furious at this point, i've got no recourse but to maneuver my way out. Looks like these guys have city contracts w/the police dept, which i guess they feel is a license to be complete douchebags. Beware when dealing with these people. On December 5th, 2019, Mr. C's towing towed my vehicle, 2003 Silver Honda Civic LIC # 5CQF495, VIN # 2HGES26773H580641, from a spot in the alley way behind my residence at 3778 Green Ave, Los Alamitos, CA 90720 at 2250 hrs. The spot had no clearly posted warning, and did not tell me who to call. I was exhausted after having returned from a training flight to Paso Robles with my national guard helicopter unit. I assumed my vehicle had been stolen. I called the Los Alamitos police department who informed it had been towed by Mr. C's towing. I paid Mr. C's $398 at 2335 hrs (less than 45 minutes after initial hook up per their receipt for charges) to recover my vehicle which still had my aviation life support equipment and flight gear (government property) in the trunk which is worth as much as the car itself. So let me first explain that I'd had a friend over for Halloween night for only a few hours, and she parked in a Guest parking area in my complex. This horrible excuse for a Towing Company deserves 0 stars. Unfortunately, I have to give them at least one. This place is full of unethical, unsafe thieves. I had a guest over at my home for something of 3-4 hours and she parked in a Guest parking area. Mr. C's Towing Company claims that security over by my complex informed them to come pick up the car because it did not have a permit. In a GUEST parking area. So we call them and ask what the rate is, and they tell us 233 dollars. Insane, right? For doing absolutely nothing wrong. So we drive down there, and not fifteen minutes later, they change the rate to 296 dollars. I just wanted to go crazy. So I say outloud, "You guys are thieves," and from the other side of the door, a guy pounds really angrily and startles us. We're shocked. They treat their customers this way, and they wonder why people give them bad reviews and call them thieves. Then as we're driving out of their parking lot, one of their drivers floors it out of there, going at least 60 in a 35 mph zone. Two tow trucks were hanging in the parking lot where I parked while I was talking to my daughter and eating the pastrami I just bought from togos therefore making me a patron. I pay $100 a month to be able to park my car in a certain spot and people have the audacity to park in my spot. All I can say is that instead of looking for cars to tow they should have went to school and get a damn degree instead of working these dead end jobs and making people's lives miserable like theirs. These people are thieves, I am filing a police report for stolen property. I was parked in a handicap parking spot with a handicap placard. They towed my car within 30 minutes and stole the handicap placard and said there wasn't one on the car. They let us search the car and the placard was not in the car. My in law that went with me works for LBPD and told them that we were going to file a report. When they brought the car to us the handicap placard was sticking out of the visor hitting me in the head as I got in the car. I am filing a police report, and filing a complaint with the BBB. Was parked for at least 30-40 minutes in a lot with a sign that said "no parking after business hours" when the liquor store and laundromat in the plaza were CLEARLY still open. Went to the place where I could pick up my car and they really charged me 330 bucks. 330 bucks for parking for 30 minutes?! Me and my buddy tried to talk to several employees and even showed pictures of the businesses still open at the plaza to get them to understand and hopefully, AT LEAST, lower the price. Beware of the fees they charge here for towing your car!!! My car was towed from my apartment for parking in fire lane (my fault) when I got here, they gave me a breakdown of the fees, BEWARE there was an extra $60 fee for LABOR work!!!! What? I asked them to explain this fee and they said any extra equipment used to tow the car. I was like there was no extra equipment been used only the chains. She said she had to ask the guy who towed it. When I asked, he couldn't explain what this fee was. Wish I can give them no stars. The lady that answers the phone is rude. When I finally arrived no one was at the window to assist me then the lady who answered the phone came up to the window and immediately asked cash or credit, without a hello or a nice greeting. I had to use my father's card and she did not inform me he had to be present when I specially asked on the phone what I need to bring giving her the information I was using my father's card. Very responsive and punctual. After coming home from a night out, I realized someone was parked on my parking space. I avoided calling a towing service for at least 30 minutes and instead tried honking to find the owner of the car. Unfortunately, they never came out and I had no choice but to call Mr.C's Towing service. About two minutes after speaking with a representative, the towing truck appeared. Our van was towed last Monday, when I called the towing yard, the gal said it was going to cost me $315 to have my van released that night, and if I waited until the next morning it was going to cost $252. I called the Anaheim Police department to see why our van was towed, which they failed to filed a report. Anaheim police asked if we were parked illegally? She asked if any signs are posted saying "no parking " Fire lane" ? I responded no. This dude tried towing my car with my S/O in it and when he got out to tell this towing guy he will move it, the towing dude started cussing him out talking about his mother and while my s/o came in to tell me to give him the keys to move the towing guy started putting my car up and when I came out he started calling me all types of b******. My s/o defended me and the tow dude started trying to fight my s/o. I didn't want any problems so I told my s/o to let it go. I tracked my car and we took an Uber to it which only took 15 minutes and he charged me $492 total with a $170 after hour fee ! He only had it for 15 minutes and he scratched it on top of that and my tire is making a weird noise. Ive only had this car for 23 days! I believe he messed it up while rushing to put my car up or just recklessly took it down. Now I have to take it to the dealership to see what's going on because the towing guy said "that's how I got this piece of shit, so you fix your own tire" and hung up. I understand I shouldn't have been parking there, but I wish he realized how hard it is to find parking.
