I work for a home visiting program and while visiting a client in an apartment complex i accidentally parked in the future residence area after a tenant informed me i could park there when i asked where the guest parking was located. My mistake was not paying attention to the signs that were posted because if i would have, i would have not parked there. It truly was an accident on my part as i would never go against parking rules. To my disbelief however, these crooks towed my car within 25 minutes of my car being there. My arrival to the complex was 1:15pm ( i have proof) and their time stamp of when my car was towed is 1:40pm. I am truly in disbelief as to how they manage to get there so fast and tow my car this fast. What if i was a future resident and lost my way looking for the leasing office? to make matters worst they charge me $302 dollars just to have my car there less than an hour. My drawers from inside my car were opened as if someone had search them. When i confronted the worker about it of course he denied . Someone needs to really investigate this bussiness and the legality in which they are conducting bussiness. I plan to seek legal advice for this. The towing yard is approximately 2 miles from the location it was towed from and we were charged $478.00. Like many other unfortunate souls on here I had the displeasure of finding my car gone in the middle of the night. I contacted Long Beach PD who informed me Mr. C's towing had towed my car and gave me their contact information. Imagine your car being towed for being in the carport that was assigned to you, for absolutely no reason. I verified my registration and insurance was up to date with LBPD and they informed me that it was and assisted me with steps to get my car back since this was a private property tow. I call Mr.C's and again had the displeasure of speaking with Amy. I informed her of my situation and she was less than helpful in getting any information so I went in person. I informed her that I would like to see who authorized the tow of my vehicle and if no one did authorize the tow I would like a copy of the general authorization agreement that they should have with the leasing property. Of course Amy played the "my manager husband isn't here come back during regular business hours" card. I mistakenly thought this was a 24/7 operation Amy, either you aren't properly trained or this isn't an ethical business, turns out you can have both. Several hours later, manager husband shows up to work and reviews the paperwork for the tow. To the surprise of everyone without a working brain, my car was illegally towed and finally released to me. God help anyone that has to deal with this company. read more

Nobody likes being at a Tow yard, means you either screwed up, or you were in an accident...either way it sucks. But getting mad at the tow yard isn't necessary or right. They didn't tow you, someone called them; police, neighbor, landlord, etc. I had to get my car out, $300 was the cost and that's fine, not outrageous if you know anything about corrupt tow yards. Came out at 5am just to see my car was missing lol. I have a tracker on it, so i tracked it down and it was here at Mr.C's. I was stranded where I was and when i finally got to the lot they told me it would be $400 flat to take the car. Car wasn't even there but 15 minutes and literally a few blocks away from where they towed it . Fees are outrageous and high as hell . After reading their reviews i was skeptical about the conditions my car would be returned to me in or the fraudulent charges many are saying they received after paying with a credit card . Title of this review: Shit Heads at Mr. C's Towing. When I was hospitalized for 4 days due to a motorcycle accident my bike was towed to Mr. C's towing. After knee surgery I came to this location with crutches. Prior to going here I went to the police station and asked if I can get some sort of discount for having my motorcycle impounded. The police officer said it would be up to the towing place. So when I went to Mr. C's towing the lady who attending me was very rude. The people there just didn't care. Even when I went to pick my R6 the guy there who guided me to my bike said I should just leave it there. In my head I'm like hell no. The engine, the frame is still in tact. Just front end damage. I had just bought a brand new Porsche 911, parked it in my space at my apartment complex and within 4 hours of having my dream car, these snakes towed it away at midnight! Predatory towing at its worst. I've never been towed - as a matter of fact I work as a valet at a luxury high rise complex, and I'm super careful about parking. I left my car in an unmarked space way back in the corner of my apartment complex, where people use as guest parking every day without issue - our landlady is great and gracious and has never asked anyone not to park there. I parked there on a Sunday night at 5 pm. By 5:45 pm, my car was gone. I came home at midnight and called the next morning, where they said it would be $245 to pick up that day, or $290 the next morning. Unable to get it that day, I picked it up first thing Tuesday, where the price had inexplicably jumped to $335 (the car had been there a little over 1.5 days' time). When I questioned them about the discrepancy in the quoted price, the same lady I talked to on the phone said "Oh, maybe I was talking about a different car... sorry." They then forced me to pay and sign a receipt claiming that I "had received the vehicle in satisfactory condition" BEFORE even letting me see my vehicle. I went to talk to my landlady to apologize for parking there - only to find out SHE DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT! She had been gone Sunday, and told me that the towing company will randomly come through on slow days and pick up anything they see parked in unmarked spaces. PREDATORY TOWING. She apologized profusely and told me about a few open spaces I could use if I ever needed an extra spot. I take full responsibility for my car being parked in an unmarked space, even though it's a commonly used space. But the practices of this company are horrendous. The prices they charge, taking cars in apartment communities without a manager's permission or request, discrepancies in pricing and terrible customer service... My car was towed overnight and when I went to pick up my vehicle the technician pulled out my car with a 9in puncher into my bumper, grill hanging off and my bumper hanging off. He acted like nothing was wrong. The manager Rick never showed up after waiting for him almost 2 hr. Their receptionist came out with an address for an auto body shop I could take it to. Asked them to to release the car in compliance with California Civil Code 22658 which states: (B) Upon the request of the owner of the vehicle or that owner's agent, the towing company or its driver shall immediately and unconditionally release a vehicle that is not yet removed from the private property and in transit. (C) A person failing to comply with subparagraph (B) is guilty of a misdemeanor. Been calling for almost 2 months at this point to work this out and they have refused to call me back. Update: After reporting Mr. C's to the Better Business Bureau, I got a call back. The owner (or manager) listened to my side and refunded my money based on the situation.
