Chocolate chip pancakes, egg whites, bacon, hashbrowns

Met my daughter for a late breakfast. Cute homestyle place with ample parking. Pricing is very reasonable. I got perfectly cooked over medium eggs, potato pancakes (comes with sour cream and applesauce on the side) and rye toast. My daughter got chocolate chip pancakes (huge), egg whites, bacon, and hashbrowns. So many choices!! They serve breakfast & lunch and there was a steady stream of folks cycling thru. It is far from us normally, but my daughter was dog sitting near there. Would go again if in that area. Enjoy!!

Breakfast sandwich and chicken club. Look at the hugh amount of potatoes!

They greed you right away. And seated us right away as well. Family friendly atmosphere. Our server Janet was on the spot. Enormous amount of food. Coffee was endless. We chose a brunch type meal. Me the breakfast sandwich with sourdough bread, YUM. My friend the chicken salad club. We took half of each home because the portions were so big. If your looking for Breakfast or Lunch this is the place.

Second time dining at Golden Bear restaurant for breakfast and it was excellent as usual!! I ordered the western omelette with home-fried potatoes, side of white toast and a side of grits. Everything was cooked perfectly!!! Grits are awesome!! Food came out hot and in good time!! Service was great as well!! Cool decorations around the interior and was not too loud with the amount of people eating there.

Ham, mushroom, & cheese omelet with hash browns and a biscuit

The ambiance is super cute here and is definitely your traditional diner! It gets very busy but the service is great and very quick. The hash browns were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, and the biscuit was super flaky. The omelet was pretty good, though I wasn't a huge fan of the American cheese in it and the eggs could have been a bit fluffier. The portions were really good though and I'd definitely come back!

Biscuits and gravy- half eaten! Full order

Omg the food is so good!! Im a die hard biscuits and gravy fan and theirs are superb! The country fried steak is also divine. This place is quaint and not an upscale restaurant but its comfortable. The service is always on point and the coffee is always fresh and flowing. It's also really affordable! I love this place.

Great little place hidden in the back of a strip mall. Everyone here was so nice from the waitstaff to the cashier. Went in on a Sunday morning and the place was packed to the brim but still sat us quickly and it was very evident there were a decent amount of regulars that would keep coming back. My coffee cup didn't run dry or 1/2 down for the entire meal. The food came out quick and you can tell those line cooks were turning and burning from the constant in and out. Portion sizes were large and not a place you leave with any doubt of being full. The bagel was nice and crispy, eggs were right consistency, prob 6-8 slices of ham on there and hash browns cooked to a golden brown to go with it. Wife got the big bear French pancakes which are pancakes coated with French toast batter. I got a couple bites of these and they will be on my plate next time I'm in 5/5 would recommend to a friend!

Looking for a different place to meet Deb for lunch and this place popped up in the search so here we are. Really cozy, mom and pop feel. Large menu with the diner favorites both breakfast and lunch. I ordered some fried pickles to start. Really good. They were spears and I usually prefer chips but the brininess of the pickles and the breading made for a great tasting bite. I then ordered the Cheeseburger club. Delicious. A little messy to eat but good sandwiches should be right? All of the flavors of a burger but into triangles like a club. Deb had the chicken salad sandwich. Nice flavors and a large portion. Over all a sold diner with great food at great prices.

Great old vibe diner/lunch spot located in a tiny strip mall on 66th. A little worn establishment with friendly folks, nice Monday-Friday breakfast specials and good menu choices. Not a breakfast type of person so I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and chose a salad as the side. The salad was the freshest romaine, tomato, cucumber and red onion salad I've seen for like... forever. Grilled cheese was tasty too. (A bit surprised to be charged $1.00 for a slice of tomato on the sandwich but not really) Service was spot on with just enough attention. Free parking.

Decent breakfast food. Great service. It's usually crowded but the dining is spread out nicely so it doesn't feel packed in.

We walked in and were told to sit wherever we wanted, we chose the window seats. Hahahaha! I ordered the Locals Favorite and my guest ordered the Salmons Benedict we shared the Chicken and waffles. The service was great, our server was great too! We asked about real maple syrup and she actually tracked down a bottle, I couldn't believe it! ( Pictured) The Local Favorite was excellent! The crab cake was perfectly seasoned, the English muffin was toasted perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was also perfect. The cheesy grits were good as well! I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. My guest also loved her meal, ( Salmon Benedict) the salmon was perfectly done without being dry, the eggs were a little beyond poached but that's okay. The home fried potatoes were golden brown and an excellent addition to the meal. The ambiance is super chill which is surprising considering how good the food is. The chicken and waffles were exceptional as well. The four chicken strips with tender, juicy and well seasoned placed on top of the golden brown waffle which was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The butter and maple syrup was butter made this waffle an 8/10.

To be fair, we were told by the manager to call, give them another chance to make it right etc. However, we didn't call and only gave them a second chance this morning with friends. The reason I didn't call to "make it right" was I want the experience I have at a restaurant to be organic, and not get special or specialized treatment because we made a complaint. Now, on to our adventure today. We (a party of 4) arrived around 1020ish and were seated pretty quickly. The restaurant was pretty full, which was expected as it was a Sunday morning. The lady who seated us (not our waitress...tall with long dark hair) was very friendly, chatty, and funny. We appreciated her service. Our waitress was quite inattentive. We each got a cup of coffee, along with waters, iced tea, etc. Once we got our drinks and the orders were placed, we didn't see the waitress again until after the food was delivered (i.e., a very, very long time). The tall dark-haired lady finally came around and refilled our coffee/tea/water after they had all sat empty for 10+ minutes. The wait for the food was so, so, so long. We waited close to 45+ minutes for our food (nothing special, nothing fancy, straight up off the menu, no changes or alterations). This has not improved since the last time we were there and it is just baffling to me that it takes so long to get food out. The biscuits and gravy were enjoyed enjoyed, however 2 of the 4 biscuits were so hard she could not cut them with the fork, and with very very great difficulty with the knife. The tops of the biscuits were soft and pillowy but the bottom were pucks. This time the eggs seemed to have been cooked properly My husband was not happy with the omelette he got, and they took that off the bill without us asking. She did mention that she could have another order put in for him but (and these are her words), "It would take about 15 hours for you to get your new plate of food." We declined a new order and thanked her for taking it off the check. I got a sandwich and it was fine, nothing special but also not awful. Our other friend got a full breakfast platter which he enjoyed. He said the pancakes were very fluffy. So, in this updated review, I have increased the stars for the food because it wasn't *as* awful as last time, but still problematic. The worst thing, which was an issue with our first visit, is the wait time for food. It is just too. dang. long. I look at a place like Lennys, where we would have been in, seated and eating by the time we got our first coffee refill (also much too long in a breakfast place.....just....have coffee ready??). We did note when we walked in there were only 3 servers for the dining room --- perhaps they were short staffed which is why we only saw our server 4 times --- once for drinks, once to take food orders, and once to check on food, and once to drop the check. It was the lady who seated us who had a great rapport with the table, who was cheerful and friendly who can take credit for the two stars in ambience. In the end, we gave them another shot. No one at the table was impressed. The kitchen is woefully slow. The service was inattentive. we will not be coming back.

The coffee hits you like it means business (but in a friendly, "let's solve your Monday" kind of way), and the muffins? Gloriously crumbly, buttery, and perfect with too‑many‑syrup‑lattes.
