This Bloody Mary was the best thing since sliced bread!

We checked out Bacon Street Diner during our visit to Clearwater. It gives more of a tap house feel rather than a traditional diner. Perfect casual spot for brunch! We were seated by the manager, while our waiter finished up with another table. Awesome guy and an even friendlier waiter. On Saturdays and Sundays they offer $2 mimosas. We also ordered the Bloody Mary that was one of the best Bloody Marys I've had in a while! Spicy and delicious! We ordered the mimi breakfast and the Ruben sandwich. The pickled slaw that came with the Ruben was amazing! 10/10 for food and drink. 10/10 for service and ambience

So... I was really thinking I would love this place based on the fact that it is a 95% "scratch" kitchen and all the other five star reviews, I was certain that things would be at least good, even if not great. We walked in and were sat immediately and our server Paige was super nice and made great recommendations we eventually settled on the chicken biscuit to share, the corned beef skillet and the lumberjack breakfast. The corned beef skillet was the best thing we had today which was well seasoned, tender and full of flavor, the home fries were okay and the over medium eggs were perfectly done. The lumberjack breakfast was Huge but just okay, not good not great. The homemade biscuit was very mealy and dry, not flaky and buttery like a good biscuit should be. The owner came out and apologized for the biscuit being what I described as a "disappointment" which it was because as I explained to my server, the owner and the other kitchen manager, I have been all over the world eating great food and this doesn't measure up. The chicken biscuit was also very okay. We ended up leaving 3/4 of the food we ordered on the plates to be thrown in the trash. The ambiance was exactly wheat you would expect from a diner on a Sunday morning that attached to a mall, busy, kinda loud and people everywhere. I really wanted to like this place but it's a NO for me.

If you have a big appetite, this scratch kitchen restaurant is for you ! Located at the countryside mall, parking was easy and I saved time by joining the waitlist on Yelp! Our server , Karlyn was amazing and had such great energy. We chatted about food , yelp and travel and her and my little one chatted about toys and coffee lol. I ordered a caramel cappuccino for my breakfast along with the country fried steak and eggs, home potatoes and biscuit and holy moly I didn't even make a dent ! Portions are huge . My little one had the kid jr French toast breakfast with a scrambled egg and extra bacon and said it was delicious. Service here is truly amazing and everyone was polite and conversed. Because of my Yelp check in , I received a free cookie which was so good we ended up taking a few back to the hotel for later. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and do have an all day menu as well as a smaller portions menu. We are definitely coming back tomorrow for breakfast again but I'll be picking for the smaller menu lol.

Needing to stop for food on the way home I saw this bacon street diner had great reviews so decided to go out of the way a little to try it. It exceeded my expectations, you must try this place it's a scratch kitchen. The food is amazing! Service is awesome, we were hungry and forgot to take pics but we started with the bacon corn chowder very yummy! My granddaughter and I shared the Bacon lover breakfast and it had lots of delicious bacon and came with waffles and I chose gluten free and they were so light and fluffy, the real syrup I recommend. We also shared the Lox bene, did not disappoint ! Highly recommend going here. I just wish I lived closer to visit more often.

We saw that they had a pretty extensive gluten-free menu, so we decided to give this place a try. Overall, it was good. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable about the gluten-free options, and explained the precautions they take to avoid cross-contamination. She answered all of my questions, and if she wasn't sure about something, she went and found out, which I really appreciated. I had the gluten-free fish and chips, and they were good. The batter didn't stick to the fish very well, but the flavor was still good. My daughter had the gluten-free chicken tenders. They were a little dark, I'd even say almost burnt but she still ate them. She also got the gluten-free French toast for dessert, which we absolutely loved. My husband ordered the chicken salad and said it was delicious. Overall, we had a good experience here.

Kaity was amazing as a server. We had some new people with us and she answered all of their questions.

Posting after a second visit. We went the first time about six months or so after the initial opening, it wasn't great, wasn't horrible. After all the hype in CL best of the bay, we looked back over the menu / reviews and decided this was the place to go. I was craving a Reuben, he was just hungry and didn't know what he wanted, as per usual ha ha. I got a bacon bloody (good!) He got an expresso martini (good!) So big ups for the bar. Then the food was served. Sigh. Dam it. Ugh. He got a breakfast tower thing that, while good, the weakest part of the dish was the actual bacon itself??? It's named BACON STREET DINER??" The "monster reuben" wasn't. I really have no issue with that, but... it was an abomination of a sandwich. I'm pretty sure the fries were made last week. This place swiftly slid into "hard no" territory for me today. It's really a shame.

In the last two weeks, we've eaten here twice once for brunch and once for an early dinner. The food is actually very good. I love their little bacon, maple cream puffs. I think the first time I had the lumberjack special the second time I had their breakfast burger, which is a bacon bomb waiting to happen. And we had a small stack of the chicken waffle which the presentation is very cool. For mall restaurant the prices are definitely reasonably affordable for the amount of food you get. The service is pretty good as well. I would recommend it if you're in the area. They do serve breakfast all day.

I had zero choice but to try a restaurant with the name BACON in it :) Located at Countryside Mall, this place has entrance from inside or outside the mall. Amazin because if it's a meal only day then there is a parking lot right there in front which you can head basically straight in. Even has an outdoor patio! Our first visit there we opted to stick to their all day breakfast menu, even though it was lunch hour. So glad we did. First off we were sat rather quickly and checked in regularly by our waitress. Our food came out in decent time, since it was a lunch rush in a Saturday we get that it wouldn't come out so fast. My hubby and I were delighted with our orders. I had the bacon stuffed pancakes and hunny has the bacon and sausage tower pancakes. My stuffed pancake may not have really been "stuffed" but it was sure delicious and had plenty of real basin bits throughout. I will definitely order that again any day! My husband's bacons and sausage tower wasn't too high (see my pics) but was very filling! And tasty too. We had leftovers for sure. This place has a bar area, TVs and is good for breakfast lunch or dinner. Anytime of the day! Love that. So to answer the magic question, yes, we had a great experience with the food and ambiance and are curious now about their burgers. Can't wait to return!

We visited Bacon Street Diner at Countryside Mall with a party of six on a busy Saturday afternoon and were seated in about 15 minutes, which was impressive considering how busy it was. The service was friendly and the timing between plates was consistent, even with a full dining room. What we ordered: The special of the day was an open-faced turkey sandwich served with mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, carrots and green beans. It was a true comfort food plate. The turkey was tender, the gravy rich and everything tasted homemade. It felt like Thanksgiving dinner in the best way. The 3-egg omelette with spinach, sausage and feta was fresh and flavorful and cooked well. The only thing to note is that add-ons are $1.50 each, so the price can add up quickly depending on what you choose. The fish and chips with dill sauce were crispy and well seasoned. The portion was generous and the dill sauce paired perfectly. The corned beef and hash skillet was hearty, savory and full of flavor. A great choice if you love diner style breakfast dishes. We also ordered a classic cheeseburger and fries, which was simple, satisfying and cooked the way we asked. The kids chicken strips and fries were crispy and fresh, and a definite hit. Before leaving, we walked by the dessert case and it absolutely stopped us in our tracks. Pies, cream puffs and house-made desserts that looked incredible. We were way too full to try one this time, but they will definitely be the reason we return. Overall, great food, generous portions, friendly service and a dessert case that demands a second visit. We'll definitely be back, especially to finally try a slice of pie or a cream puff.

Came here for a late brunch today around 1:30pm, party of 4. Was about a 15 min wait. I got the mini breakfast with French toast - for less than $12 you can get 2 eggs, a sausage, a bacon, and a French toast - really a steal in my book! Also got an apple juice. Pros: - they text you when your table is ready so you can walk around the mall area while waiting - easy parking lot in the mall - pretty quick service, our waiter Michael was friendly and competent - you can buy pie too! We got 2 pies for about $19 - they look small but are actually filling Cons: - the round booth was a little uncomfortable, but not a dealbreaker. Pretty solid breakfast - the mini breakfast was the perfect size for me when I wasn't starving. Their potatoes were also very well seasoned but not too salty!

Initially I thought this was a chain restaurant because it was attached to the mall. This is the only location in Clearwater. We had to try it with the name bacon in the title. It was a decent sized restaurant. The setting was comfortable. They have bathrooms in the back corner instead of having to go through the mall to find one. The servers wore shirts with catchy phrases on them. The waitresses were very friendly. The one lady that helped us was new, and the other waitress who was helping her was great. Her shirt said "Don't go bacon my heart " others had different slogans. They have a great selection for gluten free options. We enjoyed the food here. Looking forward to the next time we come here. I will try something different.

To be fair, we were told by the manager to call, give them another chance to make it right etc. However, we didn't call and only gave them a second chance this morning with friends. The reason I didn't call to "make it right" was I want the experience I have at a restaurant to be organic, and not get special or specialized treatment because we made a complaint. Now, on to our adventure today. We (a party of 4) arrived around 1020ish and were seated pretty quickly. The restaurant was pretty full, which was expected as it was a Sunday morning. The lady who seated us (not our waitress...tall with long dark hair) was very friendly, chatty, and funny. We appreciated her service. Our waitress was quite inattentive. We each got a cup of coffee, along with waters, iced tea, etc. Once we got our drinks and the orders were placed, we didn't see the waitress again until after the food was delivered (i.e., a very, very long time). The tall dark-haired lady finally came around and refilled our coffee/tea/water after they had all sat empty for 10+ minutes. The wait for the food was so, so, so long. We waited close to 45+ minutes for our food (nothing special, nothing fancy, straight up off the menu, no changes or alterations). This has not improved since the last time we were there and it is just baffling to me that it takes so long to get food out. The biscuits and gravy were enjoyed enjoyed, however 2 of the 4 biscuits were so hard she could not cut them with the fork, and with very very great difficulty with the knife. The tops of the biscuits were soft and pillowy but the bottom were pucks. This time the eggs seemed to have been cooked properly My husband was not happy with the omelette he got, and they took that off the bill without us asking. She did mention that she could have another order put in for him but (and these are her words), "It would take about 15 hours for you to get your new plate of food." We declined a new order and thanked her for taking it off the check. I got a sandwich and it was fine, nothing special but also not awful. Our other friend got a full breakfast platter which he enjoyed. He said the pancakes were very fluffy. So, in this updated review, I have increased the stars for the food because it wasn't *as* awful as last time, but still problematic. The worst thing, which was an issue with our first visit, is the wait time for food. It is just too. dang. long. I look at a place like Lennys, where we would have been in, seated and eating by the time we got our first coffee refill (also much too long in a breakfast place.....just....have coffee ready??). We did note when we walked in there were only 3 servers for the dining room --- perhaps they were short staffed which is why we only saw our server 4 times --- once for drinks, once to take food orders, and once to check on food, and once to drop the check. It was the lady who seated us who had a great rapport with the table, who was cheerful and friendly who can take credit for the two stars in ambience. In the end, we gave them another shot. No one at the table was impressed. The kitchen is woefully slow. The service was inattentive. we will not be coming back.
