We saw that they had a pretty extensive gluten-free menu, so we decided to give this place a try. Overall, it was good. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable about the gluten-free options, and explained the precautions they take to avoid cross-contamination. She answered all of my questions, and if she wasn't sure about something, she went and found out, which I really appreciated. I had the gluten-free fish and chips, and they were good. The batter didn't stick to the fish very well, but the flavor was still good. My daughter had the gluten-free chicken tenders. They were a little dark, I'd even say almost burnt but she still ate them. She also got the gluten-free French toast for dessert, which we absolutely loved. Initially I thought this was a chain restaurant because it was attached to the mall. This is the only location in Clearwater. We had to try it with the name bacon in the title. It was a decent sized restaurant. The setting was comfortable. They have bathrooms in the back corner instead of having to go through the mall to find one. The servers wore shirts with catchy phrases on them. The waitresses were very friendly. The one lady that helped us was new, and the other waitress who was helping her was great. Her shirt said "Don't go bacon my heart " others had different slogans. They have a great selection for gluten free options. We enjoyed the food here. Looking forward to the next time we come here. I got the mini breakfast with French toast - for less than $12 you can get 2 eggs, a sausage, a bacon, and a French toast - really a steal in my book! Also got an apple juice. Pros: - they text you when your table is ready so you can walk around the mall area while waiting - easy parking lot in the mall - pretty quick service, our waiter Michael was friendly and competent - you can buy pie too! We got 2 pies for about $19 - they look small but are actually filling Cons: - the round booth was a little uncomfortable, but not a dealbreaker. We visited Bacon Street Diner at Countryside Mall with a party of six on a busy Saturday afternoon and were seated in about 15 minutes, which was impressive considering how busy it was. The service was friendly and the timing between plates was consistent, even with a full dining room. What we ordered: The special of the day was an open-faced turkey sandwich served with mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, carrots and green beans. It was a true comfort food plate. The turkey was tender, the gravy rich and everything tasted homemade. It felt like Thanksgiving dinner in the best way. The 3-egg omelette with spinach, sausage and feta was fresh and flavorful and cooked well. The only thing to note is that add-ons are $1.50 each, so the price can add up quickly depending on what you choose. The fish and chips with dill sauce were crispy and well seasoned. The portion was generous and the dill sauce paired perfectly. The corned beef and hash skillet was hearty, savory and full of flavor. A great choice if you love diner style breakfast dishes. We also ordered a classic cheeseburger and fries, which was simple, satisfying and cooked the way we asked. The kids chicken strips and fries were crispy and fresh, and a definite hit. Before leaving, we walked by the dessert case and it absolutely stopped us in our tracks. Pies, cream puffs and house-made desserts that looked incredible. We were way too full to try one this time, but they will definitely be the reason we return. Overall, great food, generous portions, friendly service and a dessert case that demands a second visit. Fun spot that was able to accommodate 15 people on a whim. They put us by the bathroom even though the restaurant was empty but that's ok. We had loud kids so that worked out. Everything was huge portions. Meatloaf was good and flavored. My Salisbury steak was huge but had no love seasoned on it.... Tasted more like hospital food where you have to add the salt and pepper. I took my daughter and son-in-law here on a Sunday about 11:15 AM. We had to wait for a table but then ended up at the bar which is first come first serve. There was three or four people behind the bar counter, but service was spotty. It was busy so there is that. They have an extensive menu for both breakfast and lunch items. I like that they have a smaller menu that's a bit more affordable with smaller portions. All of our orders were correct however, my daughter wished that her egg whites had been a little more done since she had asked for that. The crispy chicken bowl was very tasty. My son-in-law really enjoyed his sausage links. The French toast and pancakes were some of the fluffiest I have seen in a while. I was surprised that there was a $3.49 up charge to add chocolate chips to my daughter's pancakes. Pancakes were already included as part of her breakfast. She simply wanted chocolate chips added. The maple bacon cream puff that comes with the pancake and French toast dish was amazing! My daughter didn't want hers and I happily gave it a taste test and at $.89 a piece, I thought about getting several more however I had to step away because I have Girl Scout cookies at home. This is a little far from our normal area. We were up this way looking at a car dealership. It is part of the mall which allows a great amount of parking. It's right at the entry door near the Red Robin. So you do not have to walk through the countryside mall to get to it. If I was in this area again, I'd certainly give another consideration. So glad I visited! First of all our server, Tracey, was phenomenal! She was busy with other tables when we first sat down, but took the time to briefly stop by to let us know she'd be right with us. Throughout our meal she checked on us regularly, getting us more drinks, extra syrup, etc. Makes a huge difference in the dining experience. Also, she was super personable, laughing and chatting with us a bit. My party of three really liked her. Too bad we're from out of town or we'd be regulars. Two of us got the breakfast tower with pancakes. The pancakes were surprisingly light. The sausage links could have been cooked/crisped a little more, but that's a preference thing. This place is located on the backside of the mall which google maps wanted me to park and walk thru the mall to get to it even while it has exterior access doors. When my brother and me got here (Oct 25th 1130am) most staff was dressed up in halloween costumes which was pretty cool and had to be super hard for them to do. Some really got into it and their extensive costumes. The lady dressed up as Maleficent even had wings on which was really cool and i voted for her in their contest! We sat at the bar proper although the business was not too busy but still pretty bustling with activity. The food was alright. Nothing to rant and rave about but nothing to complain about either. Although my brother did think there would be more bacon themed entrees. I didnt get a chance but the desserts in the display DID look awesome so i will probably be back to try out a few of those. read more

I had been wanting to try this spot based on previous Yelp reviews and finally found the time - They are located in the Countyside Mall and while the restaurant itself is easily accessible from the outside, the parking is horrendous! We finally found something a good walking distance away and were seated right away. I ordered the 1/2 BOLT (bacon, onion, lettuce, tomato) & 1/2 house salad. I didn't understand the need for the onion and removed it. Lots of bacon, though...the salad was not good, the lettuce was a bit wilted and there were some brown bits. DH ordered the fish sandwich with a cup of the tomato bisque. The sandwich was good, albeit he ordered grilled and it came fried, the "soup" on the other hand, was just gross! It was t soup at all, it had the consistency of spaghetti sauce and while I refused to taste it, DH said it tasted like marinara. We mentioned the soup to our server and she took it off the bill, then the manager came over and apologized. Super dangerously tempting before you even sit down. Our first interaction was a little bumpy. We were told to wait, and there was some confusion about who was first for a table. But then our waitress, Shannon, completely turned the experience around. She was sweet, patient, and shared how almost everything on the menu is made from scratch. The food was incredible. The Chicken Parmesan was freshly made--hands down the best I've ever had. We had a short wait for our server, Terrica, to arrive, but once she took our order, everything went smoothly. The menu prices on Yelp were substantially higher than the actual menu prices, which were competitive and reasonable. My entree, salad was good, but nothing special. The homemade roll that was served with the salad was wonderful! My husband got the corned beef hash and eggs skillet. That was the most tender and delicious corned beef we've ever eaten. Unfortunately, the grilled onions and bell peppers were missing from his dish, but we didn't realize that until we checked the menu on our way home.
