My boyfriend and I are both vegetarian and we had a great experience. When I came to post my review I was shocked by the other comments. One of the workers gave us free samples of falafel and fries with garlic sauce. It was delicious and tasted very fresh. We also ordered the spinach and feta pie which was also pretty great. Just about 2 weeks in and looks like pretty good food that offers a variety this area needed. The shawarma bowl is pretty large but we got a shawarma pita sandwich to go with it. Service was good and quick. If anything, the big guy building your bowl can learn to smile a bit, hah! read more

Went to pick up some takeout from Mr. Falafel on their opening day yesterday and was pleasantly surprised! Finally some a great option for authentic, fresh, bright, Middle Eastern food in our area! Also a really reasonable price point- half of what we have paid at Myrna's. I'm picky as I grew up and went to school in an area with renowned Middle Eastern food so have found it hard to stomach some of the over-priced places around here which often serve Greek food masquerading as Middle Eastern. The hummus was great and a very generous portion. We enjoyed the chicken shawarma pita and falafel pita and fattoush salad and grape leaves. Sadly they were sold out of a few favorites including tabbouleh but that hopefully means they had a successful first day and I'll make a note to go early next time! read more

First time at this place and I dropped in. Service is very friendly. Place is bright and clean. I only tried one thing and it was okay, but it was served with pita chips. The pita chips had been deep fried and they were so very oily as to almost render them inedible. Why they would have such oily chips only they would know. I just could not eat them knowing they would lead to a huge stomach ache and feeling sick. I've eaten at other falafel places and have never seen such oily chips. read more

The staff at Mr. Falafel in Riverside is so nice and their food is sooooo good! Their hummus and baba ganoush are both fantastic and they have been my go-to appetizers all summer! I stopped by Mr. Falafel in Riverside Commons today and was pleasantly surprised. The friendly staff greeted me and offered a menu with a wide selection of Mediterrenean food - sandwiches are $12 and make your own bowls $15. Platters are $13-$15 but their portion sizes are generous, easily serving two people. The food is freshly made and service was fast this late afternoon. I ordered a mixed platter with beef and chicken shawarma on a bed of rice with a cucumber tomato salad and hummus. It was very good, comparable to the more expensive Layla's but missing lentils. Sides available include falafel balls, grape leaves, kibbeh, baked eggplant, french fries, okra, Baba Ghanoush, hummus and Kashk. There are various salads, $13, including tabouleh, Italian pasta salad, greek salad and caprese salad. Catering is available at $20-$25 per person Highly recommend it. Mr. Falafel brings a great alternative to the many Italian restaurants in the area, at a good price point. Great food and great people, Mr. Falafel is the best place to go for middle eastern food in Fairfield County. It's a takeout spot so make sure you keep that in mind while ordering. Foods we've had: chicken fatta, hummus, falafel wrap, beef pie, beef kibbeh and the Dubai chocolate. All were excellent, we'll definitely be back. read more

I'm so happy this place has opened near my home. It was absolutely delicious! The falafels were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The flavor was outstanding. I love how you can customize your own bowl. I ordered the chopped cucumber salad and built from there with their many delicious options. I highly recommend the grape leaves and pickled turnips. Friendly service and quick. I will define returning to try the rest of the menu! read more

not quite sure why this place has high ratngs. I have been there a couple times and was really disappointed with the portions given the price. Even when I very politely mention that I was given a very tiny Schmeer of hummus the guy did nothing about it. Thankfully this area has many Mediterranean restaurants to choose from read more

I was in the shopping lot and decided to walk in and checkout Mr. Falafel as there aren't many such restaurants in the area. I picked up a falafel for my mother in law who is vegetarian and lives with us. While waiting, exchanged pleasantries with the nice man who took my order. I told him about my high bar of falafel growing up in queens and going to Naomi's in flushing on Main Street. He gave me a Falafel ball to try out. Wow, it was pretty damm good. We got excellent feedback on the falafel from my wife and mother-in-law who both gave this a strong rating. I also felt this restaurant is pretty fairly priced compared to many restaurants in greenwich which charge a premium. I'm excited about returning to try out their Kebobs and other items. So glad to have some flavorful ethnic foods in our neighborhood. read more
