I rarely write a negative review but I felt compelled to do so after my recent experience with this company. Idan himself was a great guy -- very personable and professional. Unfortunately the work and office staff were subpar. We had our beverage cooler stop working and I initially emailed with the manufacturer directly to find a solution. We confirmed the compressor was working, but the unit was still not cooling so they suggested I work with someone locally. I was referred to Mr. Fix and wanted to give them a try. Idan came out and replaced a small part in the unit, saying it wasn't the manufacturer part but we should still be fine and give it 1 day to cool down (this was a Friday -- had to pay $426 for this visit + the tiny part). On Saturday afternoon we checked the unit and it was actually blowing out hot air and the entire interior was hot. I called Monday to have Idan come back out. He came out that Wednesday and confirmed the part short-circuited and now the compressor isn't working so the entire unit is blown and will have to be replaced. He refunded us $189 for the part but would not budge on any other refunds despite installing a part that ultimately blew the entire unit. I called the office and the woman who handles the calls was EXTREMELY rude. Before I said 10 words she interrupted me and said "no more talking, I know what happened". She said "I'll ask about a refund and follow up". Of course she never followed up so when I called again she just said "he said no, sorry." I asked to speak to the person directly and she refused to let me contact him. We ended up having to spend almost $1k on a new beverage cooler and were still out of pocket $237 from Idan's visit. Overall I had an awful and very frustrating experience. Save your money and use someone else!!! read more

My refrigerator was leaking water on our hardwood floor. I called after hours and left a message. The nicest lady returned my call and asked me all the right questions regarding make model (even directed me to the place where I could find the #). She was very efficient and scheduled me for the next afternoon. Idan was on time and fixed our problem. He did an excellent job and explained everything along the way. Called these guys on Monday morning after getting home from a business trip and finding the fridge in the laundry room fairly warm. They called back several hours later and got some info and set an appointment for Thursday. They called to confirm Wednesday and showed up promptly on Thursday. I chose this company after reviewing other Yelp recommendations and reviews of many companies. I am so glad I found Mr. Fix and especially Idan. He diagnosed the problem with my leaking refrigerator/freezer in under 2 minutes. He is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He explained everything to me in easy terms I could understand. He cleaned up messes that weren't even his that he discovered along the way (i.e. Spilled food/crumbs in my freezer). Idan also answered some quick questions for me about other potential appliance repairs in my home and gave me very solid advice - probably saving me a lot of money and a lot of headache. I have a relatively new refrigerator that is not cooling well. They looked at it and said it wasn't worth fixing. It is still under warranty, but they didn't give me any proof to show manufacturer even after requesting. Their services were a waste of money. read more

I got an amazing service from Mr. Fix. First time I used their service was to fix my refirgator, and since I have used their services to fix my washer and dryer as well. In all times, I got service on the same day I called. The technician was nice and super professional, he quickly identified the problem and had all the required parts to quickly and efficiently fix it, and the price was very reasonable. Roommate suggested I write this review. Nice people - but a complete and total rip-off. The heat on our dryer was not working and it cost $274 for maybe 10 minutes of actual labor. They charged me $160 just for labor itself. It was one simple piece needed replacing (the thermostat). I could have just bought a used or nearly brand new dryer for this much. I asked them to check the washer to make sure it was correctly hooked up. They did not correctly install the drain pipe and therefore my entire laundry room flooded. The previous repair guy who fixed our washer and dryer only charged $75 to fix our dryer the previous time (paid $200 more this time...). I told people at work about how much was charged and they all agreed it was a HUGE rip off and they will never be using this company. I will never use these guys again due to the outrageous pricing and the pain of having to clean up a flooded laundry room. Look elsewhere for your repair needs unless you like throwing money down the drain. read more

I had a great experience with Idan at Mr. Fix. My refrigerator stopped cooling and I was desperate to get someone to fix it fast to save all the food in the fridge and freezer. One guy from another company was able to come by that afternoon and "fix" the problem. Unfortunately the "fix" didn't work. I was starting to realize that I had probably been taken by this guy and decided to bring Mr. Fix in to take a look. Idan came by the next day and not only had the previous guy not diagnosed the problem correctly (loss of freon) but he had taken out a necessary part of the fridge and replaced it with one that would have ultimately ruined it, requiring that I buy a new fridge. Idan with Mr. Fix not only diagnosed the problem properly (he put more freon in the fridge and it began cooling immediately) he also correctly fixed the the screw up done by the other guy. Idan was very professional and took the time to explain to me the problem and how he fixed it. I was very happy with the service I received from Mr. Fix. And, now I have a repair company that I can trust. read more

Horrible Service! I reached out to Mr. Fix initially to check out a slight but persistent noise with our dryer and they dispatched a technician for the following day. After initial diagnosis, the tech said we could probably go without replacing the rollers if we didn't mind the noise (at its current level)... the cost quoted was almost as much as the dryer was to purchase. The next day, our dryer sounded like a freight train rumbling through our house. The slight noise became extremely loud and unbearable. As this was EXTREMELY SKETCHY, I contacted the company for an explanation as to why the noise which was previously minor had now become so loud. The person who answered at the company was extremely rude and insensitive to our situation - she acted like they could care less about the quality of their work or the inconvenience they caused. The tech called me back and said due to him opening up the unit, this was the expected outcome after reassembly. That would've been great information to provide before starting the previous job given he could barely get the dryer to make a sound on initial diagnosis. It was also in direct conflict to what he had said the first time he was out. Given the worsened problem, we opted to have them come back out the following day to complete the repair. The tech came out and after completing the repair, the dryer was still making a noticeable noise. We were told this was the heater and this would be an additional cost to replace. Noticing a trend we decided to draw the line here. When later attempting to use our dryer we were surprised to find the exhaust vent had not been hooked up by our tech. Our laundry room was covered in lint and we are now again unable to use our dryer. We called back in to the office and had the pleasure of speaking to the same rude woman who answered previously. We were told the soonest someone could be out to complete the hookup was three days later. Funny how next day was available when we were paying for new service but not the case when they needed to fix their sloppy work. Find someone else for your needs - this company is trash and only cares about taking your money. Their attitude is even worse. Highly advise staying away. read more

Horrible horrible horrible service. I had them come out for a garbage disposal issue. Was told I would get 10% off and after the guy spent 10 minutes just playing around with the disposal ( it even running any tests or diagnostics) he told me I needed a new one and I only get the discount if I buy and install trough them. He wanted to charge me twice what Loews or anyone else would for the disposal and then mark up the service fee to $220 THEN give me 10% off. When I called to see if they would let me buy the disposal on my own and just do the installation the woman yelled at me and told me and said absolutely not I wouldn't get my discount! This was the most ridiculous experience and now I am saving $150 by using Loews instead. BUYER BEWARE. Do NOT use this company to do service and repairs. read more

Recently Mr. Fix came to my home to fix a dishwasher. Prior to coming, the lady who set the appointment said it would be a $30 charge plus parts. I asked if there were any other charges and she said only the parts. In addition, their web site indicated as a senior I would get a 15% discount. The man showed up and could not fix the dishwasher and indicated he thought it was a plumbing problem, which did not make any sense. He then told me the bill was $79.00 and I would not receive any discount because he did not fix and the additional charge of $49 was for diagnostics. When I called to speak to someone the following work day, I was treated rudely. I asked for the owners name and was not given that information. read more

This company is a total RIP OFF! I have a maytag dryer and pulled the seal out by mistake. Before I call Mr. Fix it,I called the maytag company and verified what part part was needed. Maytag gave me a part number,I logged on to Maytag's website enter the part number that was given to me and it showed a picture IDENTICAL to the piece that I pulled out of my dryer. The part was "TEN" dollars and some change. I called Mr. Fix it to set up an appointment to fix the dryer and told him what part was needed,he said that he would called me back with a price,once he verified how much the part would cost. (REMIND YOU HE HAD NO CLUE THAT I HAD ALREADY SPOKE WITH A MAYTAG REPRESENTATIVE) He called me back and said he would charge 175 to fix it and that the part cost "FOURTY" dollars. Mr. Fix then tried to lie and say that it needed two seals! He was trying to charge me more than double for what the part actually cost and the installation was easy. Maytag's website gives instructions on how to replace it! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...LIARS AND A RIP OFF! read more
