The technician disconnected thermostat wires, stated three issues with the furnace, and presented two repair options: $1,650 or $12,540 for a new furnace and AC. However, the actual issue was merely a faulty thermostat. The company owner displayed unprofessional behavior towards me and my wife. After a refund and reassignment, another technician restored power to the furnace by reconnecting the wires. We were screwed over multiple times. They claim that if we had bought their $480 orig part vs the $195 exact same part we bought from the same distributor, our 3rd and 4th calls would've been warranty. I call BS. They recommended a new condensate pump but didn't put it on the paperwork. So, call number 3 was $150 to tell us the pump is causing the furnace to not work. Why was this not mentioned at service calls 1 or 2? Why was the cost not quoted? Why? I'm so sorry they were the only company to respond to our plea on the day after Christmas. Here we are on Jan 5th, after another night with no heat!!! I will never recommend these cheats! They prey on those that have limited mechanical knowledge. We bought a house in Harper Woods that had HVAC installed by Mr. Furnace. We called last week to schedule an appointment for cleaning and any maintenance. We were told the temperature had to be at least 70 for them to test. We made the appointment for 5/18/17. The woman who took our call asked for name, phone number and address; told us if the weather wasn't warm enough they would call to reschedule. Time of appointment 10 am - 1pm. She also said they would call before showing up. 10:45 on the day of the appointment husband calls, the woman who sounds like the person he spoke to last week, can't find out appointment. Doesn't take our number, but says she'll call to reschedule. Unless their phone had caller ID, I'm curious how they'll call back. We thought we'd use the same company who installed the heater and AC. Guess they don't want to back up their work or have a new customer. I'd rate them zero stars if that were possible. UPDATE: Guess who called then showed up. Mr. Furnace! person who called to tell us the mechanic was on his way was right, Husband looked out in our driveway and there he was. Husband told phone person "I called at 10:30 and you said you couldn't find our appointment and would call later to reschedule" Mr. Furnace is now in our basement checking the furnace. I don't know what's going on, but I don't think the front office does either. Despite the requirement told to us on the phone, the service tech checked the AC and the furnace and deemed them in good working order. The charge for each was $139.90 in line with a promotion on their website for 69.95 for either furnace or AC check up. Yes the work was done. yes I'm satisfied in that, but honestly the way they set appointments isn't acceptable. I just paid 60$ for the tech to tell me that my nest wasn't charged while my unit was still under warranty for parts and labor. Everything was installed by them 1.5 years ago. Had a TRANE air conditioning unit I stalled aug 10. My old unit was a LENNOX. My electric bill for July was $300. Since I got the new unit my bill for August was $155. I must say that they were the ONLY company that responded to my needs in a prompt and expedient fashion, however, it must also be said that speedy service apparently has its price. My furnace went out the morning of the big 17 inch snow storm, and while I am truly grateful they were able to come out at all, they ended up charging exorbitant fees for their service. I needed a part replaced that, some time after the fact I researched to cost approx. $100-200, and just to come out they charged a sixty dollar fee. after the non-refundable fee, they charged me $425 including the part. the gentleman worked on my furnace for approx. 30 minutes. do the math, they charged me at a rate of $400 dollars per hour, and I thought the mechanic's $89 per hour was a little stiff! Needless to say, handy in a pinch, but rough on your wallet. read more

I was disappointed in Mr. Furnace. After working with their salesman and providing a deposit committing to a service date, I was abruptly denied service by the owner. I was purchasing a replacement furnace and requested to have a larger 4" air filter cleaner added and a curved return duct to lower the airflow resistance. I was to provide the air cleaner box and pay for the installation, they would provide the return duct at an additional cost. The salesperson didn't have an issue with the proposal but after conferring with the owner his response by email was "in view of the desire for installing your own media filter and other related deviations from the norm of our typical installations. The owner has decided to decline from moving forward with your project." This was 2 days from the scheduled installation, I had no AC and the outside temperatures were in the 90's that week. Mr. Furnace never negotiated the cost to install the air filter box and just suggested that I find someone that has more ability to meet your needs and timing. So, I did and was able to get the job done by a Trane competitor with no issues at all. I was skeptical from the onset of the company in that they questioned why I insisted on using a credit card for the down payment even though there was a 3% surcharge. I explained the credit card was my insurance if for some reason they decided to skip town or delay the completion of the job. I believe the reason I was denied was that I was very knowledgeable about the products and what I would like done and wasn't allowing them to take advantage of me from a price standpoint. read more

My dealing with Mr. Furnace was through a local Lowes store they have a contract with them for installing furnaces. I am kind of torn when leaving this yelp review because the service was not horrible. I purchased a new furnace and Central Air Unit from them at the same time and spent over 6000 dollars. During the time of the sale i was told that my current Humidifier for my old furnace was in great shape and could be attached to my new unit. However after installing the the equipment i was informed that due to lack of space they could not hook up my old humidifier. The sales rep Eric i was dealing with convinced me that i may not need one but if the air in the house gets to dry to contact him and he will be able to "help me out with something". Within two weeks i contacted and informed him that it was rather dry and uncomfortable when the furnace was running. He did reply and inform me that he was out of town for the weekend and would get back with me. I never herd back. I waited another 2 weeks called him again. This time he answered apologized for not getting back with me and said he had a bad connection and would call me later that day. It has now been over a week and i have yet to hear from him..... Long story short the initial selling process and installation was an amazing experience they installed within a couple days of purchase and worked around my schedule. The guys who installed where very polite and knowledgeable in and out in one day. I just wish i did not have to jump through so many hoops to finish the project and get a 200- 300 dollar part after spending over six thousand dollars with this company .I guess my next step is to contact lowes then talk to someone else at Mr. Furnace who is willing to return a phone call. read more

my husband has become terminally ill and bedridden so a lot of the small yet important chores he did i am not aware of. when my air unit froze up today i went to yelp and requested online quotes from 10 companies. within 15 minutes a confident, knowledgeable woman named michelle called to discuss the problem. she explained the charges and told me to make sure the filter was clean as this could cause it to freeze. i told her i was calling around for quotes and i would get back to her.she was still very friendly and helpful, explained they could come tomorrow if i wanted to call back and schedule. as kit turns out my filter was totally clogged, it was one of those things i didnt realize my husband always did. i never called another company, i had my daughter put the filter in and see if that takes care of it. if i am ever in need of heating/cooling mr furnace is in my phonebook. thanks michelle read more
