Always fresh and seasoned just right. I always get the jalapeño philly cheese steak or the chicken philly with fries. Had their burger before. It was just okay. Owners friendly and the food is very reasonably priced. You'll need at least 20 minutes if you're ordering on your lunch break FYI. read more

We came to Pismo for the first time for our anniversary weekend and decided to try out hoagies since everyone hypes it up so much. We stood in line like everyone else was and by the time we got to the door we were yelled at for not following the "rules" to how the line works (no signs telling us where to go) so we form a line away from the door with a decent amount of people behind us. We were next in line to order and this family happily ignores the line in front of them and walks in and starts to order after the man had just got done yelling at us for not being where we needed to be in line we end up getting cut and after both my boyfriend and I said something to the couple and to the bearded man working they did absolutely nothing. The couple kept ignoring us like they didn't hear and the man working just through his hands up at us like it wasn't his problem so after 30 min of complete nonsense we gave up. This place has EXTREMELY rude staff and very unorganized when directing traffic/social distancing. Not worth the hassle save your time and money. read more

Mr. Hogies is by far one of my favorite places!!! I have been going here for years with my dad. Every time he comes back into town, we have to stop by and get a Philly Cheesesteak. Weird place. The interior is an old restaurant and it's located in a run town strip mall. Based on all the reviews I ordered the Cheese Steak hoagie, it was pretty good but not great. There was way to much cheese, there was actually more cheese than steak. Also the bun wasn't good, it was just a large hot dog bun. I just recently found this spot, thanks to yelpers. There are a couple good hoagie spots in Houston like papa Gino's where you can go and spend 10-12 bucks on a good cheesesteak. You can get it with wiz or gravy if that's your thing. Me I like a simple cheesesteak with mushrooms. At mr hoagie I found it. Lean but juicy ribeye steak, small caramelized onions,fresh mushrooms melted in a silky smooth cheese and wrapped in the white butcher paper. My first time there I did not know it was buy one get one half off but the owner did and he's making sure everyone gets a great deal. for this quality of cheesesteak $4.95 is a great price. I've been eating at Mr Hoagie's since 2005, back when they were at their old location. The best Philly you'll ever eat. They've stayed consistent all these years. And if Phillys aren't your thing, they have great pizza, other sandwiches and burgers. I've had them all at one point or another, and they're all great. The owner is incredibly friendly and loyal to his customers. Couldn't recommend this place more. I don't live in Houston anymore, but I get back there frequently. Recommend to everyone to stop in to atleast pickup a couple 12" cheesesteaks and you might have to turn around to pickup more. As for my self. Been going to this place for awhile 'til I thought they closed down. What happened was they moved to a better location. Food is second to none for Hoagies. Buy one get one half off is a permanent promotion at this place. I only have one gripe that happened since the move. Soda & Tea refills are no longer free. Now ya gotta pay for refills. I don't get this. Guess I'll have to just do water now, or tell him in advance to charge me fore 'em. Ordered pizza last night before closing. Humble cool owner. Generous amount of toppings added and everything tastes so delicious. Great prices and awesome service. The place moved across the street from a Taco Cabana into what used to be a Mexican restaurant, so the decor is automatically much better. The cheese-steak is as genuine as you can get outside of Pennsylvania and just way better than the hot pocket version most restaurants seem to come out with. Just be sure to order all the condiments that you want like mayo, mustard, ketchup, grilled onion, tomatoes and lettuce. Treat it like a subway. read more

Does not deliver to apartments or townhomes so don't waste your time. I normally wouldn't care and would head to pick it up, but it's game time tonight. The guy couldn't tell me why when they've delivered here numerous times before. I asked him if he could state this on his website so that people wouldn't waste their time creating an order only to be told that it wasn't gonna get delivered. He simply hung up on me.
