Eli was the most communicative of the 7 locksmith companies we called. He was able to come to our home at 8:15pm on a Saturday night to replace the cylinder in our front door deadbolt (house built in 1900; who knows how old the lock mechanism was? Eli guessed 30-40 years). Copies of copies of keys over the decades were now failing completely. Eli diagnosed the problem over the phone simply by seeing a photo of the lock. He was knowlegeable, friendly, honest, and efficient. Spent extra time applying spray lubricant to all of the old moving parts, adjusted the inner knob to perfection, and even explained some features of the lock we didn't know existed. I needed all of my locks changed on short notice, and Eli was able to acommodate me, including scheduling a late in the day appointment. He gave me a written estimate upfront, including walking me through my options in terms of re-keying, or replacing the locks entirely. Even though my locks were apparently a rare kind, Eli was able to successfully re-key everythin within an hour. He was extremely careful to keep his work clean, and treated my property with respect. Like the other reviews, Eli at 24/7 Mr. Locksmith is the MAN. Eli came over right on time (actually 10 mins early, but called to make sure that was cool) and came on in. (I needed a new lock put in as my deadbolt was getting stuck and was really annoying- had to move it back and forth for like 30 seconds to 'unstick' the friggin thing every time I had to open it. Finally I tried to take it apart and fix it and 3 hours later of swearing at it, I called Eli from a recommendation to come fix it, off a recommendation from a buddy). Eli was cool- nice guy and wanted to make sure I was happy with the price, his service, and final job. I was. He fixed my lock like a frickin' pro. He replaced the lock and re-keyed it (made it so the new key would unlock my bottom doorknob lock) and he was on his way- all under 30 mins. $140 to do the job. I've never replaced a lock so I have no idea if that was fair or not, but he was a cool guy and did a bang up job. Now no one can come in and rob me. Eli is great. He quoted me a price over email to re-key the locks in my new house, based on me telling him I had the current keys to all of the locks. When he arrived, I realized the sellers had only provided us with the key to one lock, I hadn't bothered checking the other doors. Eli said he would try to pick the other two, but couldn't guarantee he would be able to, and if he couldn't, he'd have to replace the locks with new hardware, which would increase the cost. He was almost apologetic about it, even though it was totally my bad for providing incorrect info to him. He told me how selling the hardware is no benefit to him, it just costs me more, so he' try his best to pick the locks. Success! He was able to re-key the three locks and stick to the original quote, despite changed circumstances. He also provided me with some good information about the upkeep of the locks (who knew?) and explained why one door didn't seem to shut well, and why another knob was rusty. Could not be more impressed and grateful to Eli for coming out very late on very short notice to fix a door in a new apartment that had multiple lock issues and was generally incredibly unsafe. Despite the fact that it was late at night and he didn't have the parts (he drove to multiple shops to find one open for the weird parts needed), Eli did an amazing job on a non-standard older door to make it safe and secure (something that it clearly wasn't before) - basically deciding that he wouldn't go home that night until he made sure the door was safe. Eli came to my new home today (same day) to rekey the locks. After reviewing the options we had, he made some excellent suggestions that ended up saving us money. He replaced a doorknob for us, rekeyed the rest, and basically gave every lock he touched a "tune up" and made sure they were all working properly after he was done.
