I know inflation has hit everyone, but wow! $65 for bottom dress hem and shoulder strap adjustment is pretty steep. My usual place charges $20 for each of these but were fully booked, so being in a pinch and after reading several great reviews, I decided to come to Mr. Luis. My biggest issue is this mans very dry bland attitude from beginning to end. He comes off as very rude and like you are bugging him with your business. I also had an issue where my dress was stained in several places straight out of the bag and when I mentioned this to Mr. Luis, I was hit with extremely defensive phone call about how in 30+ years they have never had a complaint like this and I stained it myself. It looked like someone was eating fries while completing the alterations. That's what I get for not trying it on in the shop before leaving. Lesson learned. Will your clothing be tailored correctly, yes, but don't expect any type of warm welcoming treatment from someone you are about to hand your money to. read more

Looked online for a tailor near me and this business came up. Hours of the business said it was open and was 9 minutes away. I needed 2 pairs of jeans hemmed so I drove there only to realize once I got there it is a house address. Ok, no problem, maybe this guy works out of his house. Weird, but ok. Called 2 times from out front and no answer. Waste of time. 20 minutes later, after I drove away, he calls me back and tells me it's appointment only. I came here because my pants are too long and he didn't even trim them short enough so that my pants won't fall to the floor!! He was late for 20min for our agreed pick up time and blamed ME for showing up at 5:30pm instead of 6pm when we AGREED to meet at 6! I mean! Super convenient for me as his a block away. However, he definitely needs to work on his customer service. I had no issue picking up at his time however he came off as rude about it.He should also learn to be a little more flexible with his pick up times , 6pm only is not feasible for everyone and if you can't make it that day and can the next it shouldn't be too big of an issue. He is super dry and bland when, I went to pick up not so much as a smile and I tried to have a convo and he just sent me on my way lol I would say I go to most of my places because of convenience and customer service. Ok soooooooooooo. I asked for a dress to be shortened, taken in on the sides at the bottom to give it the mermaid look, and have straps adjusted. He charged me 110 bucks. Not to mention when I picked up the dress it still had safety pins all on the side of it because the dress was not finished! I drove back to him and he said to give him half an hour. I was pleasant with him because he apologized and I was ok with it. It was a new dress that had tags attached. The tags were up by the arm where there was no work needed. I've never had a tailor take off the tags and throw them away. Ever. I wanted to keep the tags JuST In CaSE. So anyways he didn't offer a discount or anything for my dress being given back to be without the work done on it. The straps he measured at the place were cut too short. Im so disappointed and feel ripped off. I'll never ever go to him again. I'm giving two stars and not one because his sister and him are nice people. Sorry Mr. Luis but don't tell me that people never ask for the tags back. I'm not people. Every tailor doesn't rip them off. 110 bucks! For simple work.
