He works from a home office, so he's able to support longer hours and give competitive pricing. The home office also includes a private dressing area, so you're able to try on the items before and after. The item that was tailored was a rayon dress, purchased from a consignment shop. the elastic had been pulled out from the shoulders, and the bodice was too large. He cut down the bodice to fit much better, and even ensured the elastic on the shoulders was cut so I could bring down the shoulders and wear it like a strapless dress. Great forethought on his part! I suggested this place to my husband and I regret it. The first red flag was when he said I looked like my husband's mother, and he was not joking. I looked past it and kept encouraging my husband to use him, until I had to deal with the man in person. I don't know what his problem with me was, but do not bring your stuff here. I dropped off my husband's shirts and the owner was rude to me from the start. When I came back the next morning with a sample shirt, he pushed me for money before he had sewn a single stitch. No courtesy, no customer service, just demands. I decided to take the shirts elsewhere because four days for a basic stitch is slow and he was extremely overpriced. When I came to pick them up he yelled at me on the street, in front of my child, and told me not to come back, all because I chose to go somewhere else after how he treated me. I was polite every single time. Yelling at a woman with her child standing there tells you what you need to know about this business. I know inflation has hit everyone, but wow! $65 for bottom dress hem and shoulder strap adjustment is pretty steep. My usual place charges $20 for each of these but were fully booked, so being in a pinch and after reading several great reviews, I decided to come to Mr. Luis. My biggest issue is this mans very dry bland attitude from beginning to end. He comes off as very rude and like you are bugging him with your business. I also had an issue where my dress was stained in several places straight out of the bag and when I mentioned this to Mr. Luis, I was hit with extremely defensive phone call about how in 30+ years they have never had a complaint like this and I stained it myself. It looked like someone was eating fries while completing the alterations. That's what I get for not trying it on in the shop before leaving. Lesson learned. Will your clothing be tailored correctly, yes, but don't expect any type of warm welcoming treatment from someone you are about to hand your money to. read more

I needed 2 pairs of jeans hemmed so I drove there only to realize once I got there it is a house address. Ok, no problem, maybe this guy works out of his house. Weird, but ok. Super convenient for me as his a block away. However, he definitely needs to work on his customer service. I had no issue picking up at his time however he came off as rude about it.He should also learn to be a little more flexible with his pick up times , 6pm only is not feasible for everyone and if you can't make it that day and can the next it shouldn't be too big of an issue. Ok soooooooooooo. I asked for a dress to be shortened, taken in on the sides at the bottom to give it the mermaid look, and have straps adjusted. He charged me 110 bucks. Not to mention when I picked up the dress it still had safety pins all on the side of it because the dress was not finished! I drove back to him and he said to give him half an hour. I was pleasant with him because he apologized and I was ok with it. It was a new dress that had tags attached. The tags were up by the arm where there was no work needed. I've never had a tailor take off the tags and throw them away. Ever. I wanted to keep the tags JuST In CaSE. So anyways he didn't offer a discount or anything for my dress being given back to be without the work done on it. The straps he measured at the place were cut too short. Im so disappointed and feel ripped off. I'll never ever go to him again. I'm giving two stars and not one because his sister and him are nice people.
