I have not been to a Mr. Mike's in over 30 years and I was skeptical at first. Stopped for convenience and glad we did. This place was fantastic. Service was very good and the filet was delicious. I asked if I could have extra veggies instead of the onion rings and they were happy to accommodate. I would definitely go back if I find myself in the area. read more

The mike burgers haven't changed. Bun, meat & sauce exactly as you remembered it and it's divine. I feel like they could put more on the burger but it's still delicious. The bacon mushroom one is my favourite. Very filling burgers. Staff is friendly and tries hard. On one of our orders, the waiter misheard an order and henceforth brought the wrong item. They corrected it within 5 mins and was able to keep the wrongly ordered food. Great place to bring a crowd. read more

I visited Mr Mike's this past Sunday. I had planned to go on Saturday but I experienced car troubles. The AC belt on my 1998 Toyota Camry had gone but that's irrelevant. When I sat down at my table I tried to find a place to dispose of the gum I was chewing. I reached to stick it under the table top. However, there were already multiple pieces of gum under there but that's irrelevant. The flat iron steak I had tasted just like how they make it in Flat Iron, Texas. And that's high praise as you know what they say "everything is better in Texas.." Well Mr. Mikes sure one up'd Texus in that regard! When I visit restaurants i like to treat the staff to my Worldly knowledge regarding cuisine and share some insight about it with them. I went to share information about Flat Iron, Texas with my server, Abby. But she was a walking Wikipedia on the matter! She knew all about how the steaks are specially cut in the shape of Flat Iron, Texas. And how only the best cuts precise on the cow (In between the left loin and anal cavity of the cow) are selected. Love Mr. Mike's! Okay, it's not as good as the old version with famous salad bar that was franchised and spread over BC and Alberta, ending in the 2000s. It's "new", somehow trying to be a cross between The Keg and Montana's, and NO salad bar. Bummer. Who wants to order a $24 steak here when there are so many other true steak houses, at least down in Victoria, and even the steak sandwich at Arbutus Ridge Golf Club is worth the drive. This is my third visit since it opened. Best: the Mikeburger remains on the menu! Yay! Still under $10.00. That's what I keep coming back for. Even the Mikeburger sliders on Sunday were yummy. Three mini versions of the big Mike for $8.99. Ron ordered the $12.99 Mikeburger with bacon and cheese and said it was big enough, delicious and filling, just like the "old days" of Mr. Mike's, with grilled seasoned burger patty, French loaf style bread, garlic butter, cheese, crisp bacon, onion and secret sauce. Only complaint was that the fries were not plentiful, small portion. Not good: service has been inconsistent on all three visits. Sunday it was busy, so perhaps understaffed(?). Slow serving lunch, but helpful with the drinks, thanks to the host, or was he a double duty bartender? It was slow, but it seemed to be that they knew it was slow, so they did a good job checking in with updates, etc. Can't get enough of the Mikeburger . . . . read more

I used to love Mr Mikes when I was a child. I was feeling nostalgic while in Duncan and tried the restaurant. The food was horrible! I can't believe what they charge for the junk they think construes as food. I would never return to this restaurant. read more

Tasty food, good service. For early days of being open I was heavily disappointed in the quality control. The food came Warm not hot, veggies totally undercooked, fries came cold, ribs not fall off the bone (not the end of the world) but that being said, food was tasty at least. I will give it another go, first impressions overall were that it was certainly an only ok restaurant. In short, not terrible but expected better. read more

Hmm..today sent an email into head office suggesting the cleanliness of the Duncan location could improve....got an email back from the locations management taking note it was dirty and basically saying quote " Sometimes life happens"....hmm...sorry for bringing this to your attention but I really don't it would much to pick litter off the floor at the entry way ect, empty a couple of washroom garbage cans....really if the staff are to busy getting ready to open the doors for business, that's fine but come on management pitch in and make the place look good for the paying customer. I find the negative reviews here very hard to believe. Each and every time we have had a meal at this location it has been terrific. We like to stop here on our way up the island for car shows in the summer, and also in the winter, when our son has had hockey games in Duncan and Shawnigan. It is my husband's favorite place to eat north of the Malahat! The French Onion Soup is delightful, the Mushrooms Neptune delicious, and the Mike Burgers are amazing!!! The staff is ALWAYS friendly and helpful. It cant be called a "gourmet" spot, but it is a fabulous restaurant and we will continue to travel from Victoria to eat here! read more

The menu choices are quite vast and varied offering salads, steaks, burgers, sandwiches and great combos like shrimp with steak and great side dishes like fried pickles, onion rings and baked potatoes which are delicious! the service is fast and super friendly, the decor warm and cozy and prices super reasonable especially given the type of food being eaten, mainly steaks and shrimp! read more

While the service was quite good (our waitress was lovely and the food came quickly), the food itself was disappointing. Our $13 plate of calamari consisted of very little calamari and instead was piled with deep fried onion, green beans and carrots. I'd rather have had the calamari. The spinach dip was a bit burned around the edges, and not very creamy. The wings were very small and disappointing. The little bruschettas were delicious though. Overall not the best for appetizer taste or size. read more

I was so sad this Mr Mikes fell so short because I really like the franchise. I ordered a caprese salad, which was my bad for ordering a salad at a steakhouse, but was disappointed that the chef forgot the mozzarella and the salad was not at all what was described on the menu. The worst part, however was the COVID safety protocols, which were very questionable. I get that there's only one entrance/exit but was unclear why there were dividers between the booths that made patrons and staff get close to the surrounding booths to get around. It seemed like people had to lean in to our booth to get to theirs. Also staff being trained had to stand right at our booth in order to hear their trainer at the booth beside us. Yes, it's COVID and it's my choice to go out and I have been to a couple of restaurants and pubs in the past year Most restaurants seem to be doing their best but I didn't feel this from Mr Mike's in Duncan. read more

Went there for dinner, first order was wrong so the took it back, which I never do because I don't want any of the chefs special sauce because I complained. Anyway the right order eventually comes out after everyone else at the table was nearly finished, and of course it was wrong again, this time it was well done instead of rare, l wasn't going to complain but the waitress ask if everything was okay and I just had to tell her. Anyway the gave me a free entrée coupon for my next visit which I don't think I will be using anytime soon. read more

The decor was fun and well done and the staff seemed wonderful trained. Prices are a bit high considering the food seems frozen but still tasty. Most disappointing thing is I was charged $7.20 for 2 glasses of sofa water.. compared to my boyfriends mike sized beer that was $7.80 seems ridiculous. We were in Duncan and had lunch there. I ordered the fish tacos and my wife had a Langostino salad. The taco were so saucy that they weren't enjoyable at all. My wife's salad was slimy and the Langostino were tasteless. The price were way too high for the quality of the food. We will not return. read more

Hadn't been to a Mr. Mike's for a long long time and was really looking forward to it. I remembered the awesome salad bar. They don't do the salad bar anymore , oh well. I ordered the rib-eye beef dip, was really great sandwich, the dip though was way too salty and not edible and the fries were cold but tasty. We were sat right away and proceed to wait 15mins before someone came over and asked if we'd been helped yet, this poor waitress was frazzled and informed us that we weren't her table but she would be our server anyway. I have to say that this restaurant was way under staffed for the Friday dinner rush that was happening. Try as they might the wait-staff couldn't keep up with the demand. The hostess was pitching in and even the kitchen staff delivered some of our food. It was amazing to see all the staff pull together to try and salvage the ship. The shortness of staff meant that food was left waiting to be delivered way too long, hence the cold fries. With more staff help during the rush this would have been a good dining experience. Come on Mr. Mike's get hiring some part timers to help in the rush times! Never have I seen a wait staff bust their butts so much it was admirable that's why I have given 3 stars. read more

We took my brother to Mr. Mike's for his birthday. We were seated promptly, waited on immediately and served very quickly. There were seven of us in our party and everything went extremely well. Liz, our server was fast, polite and even managed to laugh with us. The food was good, properly cooked and served hot. I have absolutely no complaints. Our thanks to Liz, the chefs and the other lady who bussed our table. read more

Love mr mikes! Been here 3 times now and everytime food has been amazing! The chicken caesar was the best ive ever had in my life and the cheesy garlic bread was delish! I would recommend the chicken coastal burger or the newyork steak sandwhich both were soo good ! Also their brownie heaven dessert was killer! Vanilla bean icecream whip cream brownies and chocolate sauce how can you go wrong! Service was also great every time we have gone very nice girls and very accommodating for our 1.5 yr old daughter. Will eat here many many more times :)! read more
