Mr. Mongolian was the food truck at Spring Haven Farms the day I was there so I had to try it. They have a paper menu/order form and you highlight what you'd like. I went with the combo bowl and that included a regular bowl; meat option; rice choice; an appetizer and a beverage. There are several vegetables that can be chosen for the bowl so you can pick a combination that you like. My choices were shrimp and fried rice and dumplings for the appetizer. I didn't care for the fried rice so much so next time would opt for white rice but was happy with the vegetables and the shrimp. read more

This food was delicious and plentiful. The shrimp stir fry was delicious, lots of veggies and great flavored shrimp. The chicken stir fry was also delicious, so fresh and flavorful. The wings were amazing, probably the best wings I've had in a long time. The wontons were fine but the other three foods were the stars. I only wish when I came to pick up my order one or both of the workers would have cracked a smile. I will certainly order again as the food quality, portion and prices were excellent. read more

I met this couple at my restaurant and they told me about their food truck. I love food trucks so I went the next day and all I can say is WOW. this was better than any restaurant hibachi i've ever had and it was so affordable. I never write Yelp reviews.... ...but, without exaggeration, this was one of the worst food truck experiences I've ever had. My wife ordered a regular bowl with beef. I ordered the dumpling special. They immediately handed me the dumplings (no sauce) and said my wife's meal would be "15-20 minutes." My wife insisted that I start eating so the dumplings wouldn't get cold. Didn't matter. They were already cold. Also, the half serving of fried rice that came with it tasted like wet cardboard. About 20 minutes later, they handed us the beef bowl. They screwed up the order and gave us white rice instead of fried. Not a huge deal. But the beef. Ohhh, the beef. Guys... It. Was. Gross. I tasted it to make sure my wife wasn't exaggerating. She threw it away. Let me say that again. She paid $10 for food and almost immediately threw it away. I've had some pretty abysmal food trucks before, but they've never been "throw your food away" bad. It was pretty impressive. The best part of the meal was the Sprite. Nope. Yuck. Mr. Mongolian is a food truck with their ish together! They have a well-done website with online ordering! (Unheard of for a truck) and a simple straight-forward menu. I love that they offer a combo too, and a virgin pina colada! It should be stated that Mongolian make-your-own is not one of my favorite foods. By the time I "make-my-own" it's just a bowl of all the things, without any particular flavor profile. Given that baseline, this truck was excellent! I picked spicy, and they delivered! It was a nice, warm, dry spice that had me sniffling, and had a ton of flavors from all the veggies I packed in it! The portion in the bowl was excellent, the veggies were fresh and plentiful, and the seasoning was, well, there was a ton of it, which I love. The chicken dumplings were a bit disappointing as they were somewhat small and rather cold by the time I ate them, and the sauce was a bit odd. They were probably very standard frozen dumplings though, and nothing to complain about. Really enjoyed this place because it's different, and will try a few different varieties next time they come. I recommend online ordering from your desk first though, because these guys took quite a while to get everyone's bowls ready. read more

The options were a bit more limited and you could pick a dumpling option or bowl. You have to select what you want on a piece of paper and then turn it in. I sampled the pork dish and also a dumpling. To me the food tasted salty and I was not overly excited about the flavor. I see they go to various events at breweries and seem to be at many venues. The food is terrible! I ordered my bowl mild, and my husband ordered his hot. My food was so terribly hot, neither one of us could tell which meal was hot and which meal was mild. I tried Mr. Mongolian when they were at House of Hops one Sunday. Overall it's a very cool concept for a food truck. You create your own bowl on a piece of paper that you mark with what you want or don't want... like at the sub shop Which Which. The food was just okay for me. I thought that there was a some flavor, but lack of depth in flavor. I've had better Mongolian for the same price, but more quantity and quality. Also, I ordered with my family (3 different bowls), but we had a lot of ingredients missing or mixed. I didn't get the pineapples that I wanted, which are SO good and important in the dish. We had Mr Mongolian food truck at my work place today 8/28/20. The menu and the phots looked appetizing so I decided to try it. I wasted $15.05. Food was horrible. It wasn't fried rice. It was white rice with some sort of sauce that made it look almost black. I ordered hot, it was mild. The meat was dry and the 1 shrimp I did try to eat had a funk to it. The dumplings were burnt and who knows what was in them, no taste. I paid extra for white sauce which I did not receive. The only good thing was the tea. I would not recommend them again nor will I eat from this vendor again. the 1 star was for the tea! Two of my other co-workers also got food from the food truck their opinion is the same as mine. This food truck was in our neighborhood tonight. My husband ordered the dumplings, which they gave to him 15 minutes before my meal was ready: no sauce, flavorless fried rice, eh dumplings. I got the regular bowl stir fry with beef and some vegetables. Simple right? After five bites, I had to throw it out. No seasoning/sauce, flavorless, sloppy, and honestly, pretty gross. Almost $20 down the drain and now I have to go cook dinner. To top it off, no real effort was made to make it contact-free during this pandemic. Every person had to fill out a separate sheet (yes, pencil and paper) to submit your order. No sanitizer outside or anything. Will never be returning to this truck again. read more

Tip 2: For those loving spicy food, recommend skipping HOT and go straight for HOT-X. Either they left the spicy out of it, or HOT is weak! First time trying this truck. Not sure if this is the norm but it wasn't good. Not even slightly. The guy taking orders was extremely friendly. And I tipped accordingly. However he was also the one handing out the orders and not checking that they were correct. The Special was 6 chicken dumpling meal, with fried rice, and lemonade for $8. The 6 dumpling meal with rice is normally $8. Drinks are normally $1.50. So you get a free drink with this special. I also ordered macaroons, which come 2 for I think $2.50. The macaroons were not included in my order. There is a free basket of macaroons at the fork & napkin station. I tried one while waiting for my order and it was typical. Not amazing. Perhaps I was supposed to help myself to the basket of Free macaroons after paying 2.50? The dumplings were barely sauteed & when opened were just full of shredded cabbage. No actual chicken filling. None. Zero. Not like I'm being critical and there was some but I'm being picky. No. There was ZERO. Like did they forget? Or use the vegetarian dumplings by mistake? They were ultimately soggy and forgettable. The fried rice was not well mixed, with patches of dry white rice and lacking any soy flavor. I didn't finish it. The lemonade was in a Coleman beverage container outside. Another cooler with ice was nearby. Lemonade tasted like water with a hint of lemon. Someone didnt follow a standard recipe or taste it before service. Also unsanitary to have an ice scoop with handle that everyone has touched inside a cooler of ice. I heard people that ordered the "make your own" hibachi style fried rice bowl say it was good. But the guy next to me paid $1+ to have scrambled egg added to his fried rice, and he got an over easy egg on top of his rice. $14 including tip for bad lemonade, missing macaroons, tasteless fried rice, and cabbage dumplings. We had this truck in our development tonight and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a big fan of bbq but this was really flavorful and not like regular bbq. I ordered chicken and tofu and lots of veggies and asked for "hot" and it was a great combo of spicy and sweet. The regular bowl will be 2 meals for me so portion size is good! first time trying...not happy about the food, but we patronized because its the right thing to do. I'll start with the not so bads...my son loved their lemonade. And to be fair the chicken "dumplings" were okay and the guy taking orders was super nice. Now...the bad....the lack of clarity on their 'menu' is frustrating. Their dumplings should be called pot stickers, seriously. And they need to stop pre making their "special". Which in my case was the 6 dumplings, fried rice and a drink option for $8. I took my order home...literally a 1 minute walk....and my food was cold, the rice was hard as heck & the pot stickers were dang near burnt and ripped up! Just looked a mess (see pics). I found this Mongolian cuisine to be marginal at best: - The meat, both the beef and pork ordered, contained significant gristle. - The vegetables ordered were: Mushrooms, onions, green peppers, zucchini, pineapple, and cabbage. Many of those ingredients were barely included. - I paid extra to substitute cabbage for the included side of rice; the cabbage was almost completely absent. - Medium spice requested on the order basically meant no spice. - The cardboard container was overly absorbent: with only a two minute drive home, as I spooned out the purported Mongolian entree, I had soaked cardboard paper fibers mixed in with the meal because the box had disintegrated from the food and sauce. - I waited an extra hour, after they cancelled all of the advance, pre-paid online orders (because their truck was having internet issues), for this? - I would NOT order from them again, based on my experience, coupled with reading some of their online reviews, which were written long before the Covid 19 pandemic virus arrived. read more

Deeeelicious! They were at my work Food Truck (mini) Rodeo today and luckily I was first in line. I haven't looked outside to see how they will handle the lines but everyone so far has beelined it to them and for a good reason. The food is great! It's kind of like WhichWich where you mark what you want on a piece of paper provided by them and they make it how you want it. I had the tofu with Xspicy sauce and the Spice Rub..with fried rice. I normally get steamed rice but glad I went with this option b/c it wasn't greasy fried rice. All in all this is a great truck worth checking out. My team members love this truck and their sister truck, Mr. Cheesesteak. I ordered the "ready now" dumplings and rice. The food was, in fact, ready immediately and the price was reasonable for the portion size. My wife ordered from the menu. Her container was overflowing with yummy food. The service is always great! We love having this food truck stop by our office and we are especially grateful that they came to the rescue on short notice when another truck had to cancel. Took advantage of seeing a new truck outside full steam today. Custom Mongolian bowls made to order. Combo comes with a normal sized portion, two stupid tasty dumplings and a drink. Fresh lemonade and canned drinks were available, but lemonade went quick. Spicy scale is similar to momas hot chicken where mild will make you sweat. I think one of the most important aspects of Mongolian Grill is the the sauce, and they got it right. It's very flavorful but not overwhelming. It enhances the taste of all the vegetables in it. I had the pleasure of indulging yesterday evening. I was exhausted after wrapping up volunteering 8plus hrs of dance set up for a local school. This truck & I were meant to be cause I just knew a sandwich would end up being my dinner as I could barely stand up. I was promptly greeted and placed my order for their combo. They have these neat timers that they give you that buzz when your order is ready which is certainly better than listening for your name outside a bar on a Friday night. My beef bowl was delicious and the veggies (I got all of them) tasted so fresh. Mr. Mongolian has my favorite food truck cuisine- but the customer service is the biggest turnoff. This weekend, they were at a local cidery. After waiting 5 minutes to hand in my order form- by the way, there was no line- the person taking my order, when he finally came over, couldn't get my card to swipe. He said it was my card malfunctioning and that he couldn't manually enter the number. I have used square on multiple occasions as a merchant- you can manually enter the number, but it takes a little longer. I would understand if there was a line-- but there wasn't. I went inside and closed my tab to free up another card, and when I came back out, he told me that the card reader wasn't working, and in order for me to get my food, I would have to pay cash. This is 2018, even my grandma doesn't carry cash. I would feel bad- I know that's a frustrating situation, but there was no desire to resolve the issue on his part. Treat me like a valuable customer and I'm happy to help troubleshoot. Be rude to me and act like my business isn't important, and I'm happy to write you off. Mr. Mongolian, we are done. read more
