I've been here multiple times, because my office used to be right nearby. But even after moving to a different office, I still go back from time to time. The portions are very generous, and the flavor is really good. The only downside is that it takes a while to get your order. But this food is delicious. The only negative was that it was not at all spicy- even with the added sauce that was supposed to be spicy. But I did appreciate all the sauce flavors; I tried Joe's Special, Spicy Aioli, and the Sweet & Sour & they were all tasty. Ambiance is great with some inside & lots of outdoor seating. The portion sizes compelled me to write this review. Bulgogi is GENEROUS with their entrees!! Everyone in my party had leftovers to take home for at least one more meal. And in both settings, the food is real tasty. There are also self serve sauces next to where you pick up your food. The ordering system is through an iPad kiosk and they call your name out when the order is ready. One thing to note is that we could not find any trash cans in the restaurant but since they are in RTP, there are plenty of trash cans around. One of my favorite lunch spots at Boxyard RTP! I ordered my go-to Bibimbap with beef and a fried hard egg. So good! I topped it with the spicy aioli and bibimbap sauces. Both are very tasty. Boxyard has already lost gems like Lawrence Barbecue and the Buzzybakes shop across from Bulkogi. Honestly, I wouldn't be sad if Bulkogi followed suit--because nothing about my experience felt worth saving. I wasn't greeted when I walked in--a silence that hit harder when I watched every White customer entering after me get warm "Welcome to Bulkogi!" As a BIPOC diner, that set the tone. IYKYK. Strike one. Then the menu: items covered in masking tape like a garage sale flyer. Not rustic, not minimal, just penny pinching. Ordering happens at one of three iPad kiosks. You bus your own table. And yet--they still prompt you for a tip. The audacity. The food? Mediocre at best. Chicken and rice, but nothing sexy. The $15 Quesadilla, meh... You know the vibes...Certainly not the 4K, 43+ megapixel filtered fantasy from their website.definitely giving Catfish Should've known some foolery was afoot, since the iPad menu lets you customize literally everything the one non-can beverage. The "lemonade" rationing was the tipping point. No one working there is juicing fresh lemons btw, but I digress.... $4.34 for a 16oz cup filled with ice?! Meanwhile, at Harris Teeter, a half-gallon of Simply Lemonade goes for $2.50. The math is mathing--but not in their favor. No thanks. So, I said hey can you make it with no ice please? Out comes a sad splash (half-empty or half-full, take your pick) of neon-yellow powder-mix Kool-Aid in a cheap dollar-store pitcher. When I asked "What is this? This ain't enough..." --with literally no other customers around--the server shrugged, and said flatly: "My boss told me to do that when there's no ice." Translation: make it enough. In the end, Bulkogi feels less like a community-driven food truck comeback and more like absentee ownership co-opting APAC culture for passive income. So we were headed to get Indian food on 9th street, but there was an accident or something on 147 and I was at the exit for RTP, so I decided to go to Boxyard and have my favorite Bulkogi!!! Just like I told them, they have the best Bulgogi in the triangle. They have kiosks for you to place your order. Be careful when ordering the tacos, somehow one time I order 9 tacos instead of 3, lol but wasn't sad at all when I was able to have leftovers for days. My daughter always gets the Bulkogi fries and I always get the tacos. The order was ready in perfect time. We had just enough time to order drinks from the nearby bar and get some good seating outside and our food was ready. Every bite was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned and amazing. There are several options on the menu, but I love what I love! Bulkogi has seating inside, but it was finally a beautiful sunny day, so we sat outside where there's tons of seating. I absolutely enjoyed my experience at Bulkogi! Walking in, you are immediately told by several signs to order on the kiosk. I like that you are able to customize your entrees. I decided to get two of their spicy chicken tacos without tomato. While I waited, I checked out their sauces and decided to get their spicy aioli and bb sauce. The bb sauce was spicy and smoky and mixed well with the spicy aioli. The aioli alone was amazing. Just enough heat and spice, but super savory and took me to another place! Wow! I went back and got more of the aoili, that is how much I liked it! My two tacos came out quick and pipping hot! They give you a generous amount of chicken along with the toppings. I tried the tacos solo and then with the sauce. Wow! It was so amazing! Every spicy and savory bite again took me to a better place. I could've probably eaten three or four more, but the two tacos were just amazing and so filling! All I needed was something cool to cool me down after all that spiciness! I guess I am just old school and expect to be greeted/waited on/have my order taken. I went up to the counter where the employees are at. They seemed oblivious to my presence. They are all very busy preparing the food and ensuring people got their food. I stood there like an idiot for about five minutes noticing the only employee not busy at all behind the counter was an older Korean? man standing in one place, expressionless, watching the employees work at a frantic pace. He never glanced at me. I was about to walk out in frustration then noticed the 3 kiosks in the corner. I choose the entree I wanted via the touch screen. My choice said $11 then add options $14. I wanted plain not spicy, I saw no where to add options only to continue and pay. The receipt: 3 Tacos (11 dollar base price before protein) $15.50 3 spicy beef ($4.50) Purchase Subtotal $15.50 Durham (7.5%) $1.16 Total $16.66 That's a lot different than $11 My order was ready in less than 5 minutes, my name was called before I got the text notification. What arrived spicy and over laden with mostly white onion. Yuck and yuck. Will not return but if someone asks I will tell them to go directly to the kiosk first. It's crowded inside and the interior lighting is a little dark, so even though there's seating it's more comfortable to eat outside. The thing that sold me though, was the amount of meat. When in Boxyard, I always go for Bulkogi. And you should, too. I've tried other food spots to give it shot, but I always end up regret not getting Bulkogi :( I don't ever get Kimchi Fried Rice at Korean restaurants in general bc I can easily make that at home. BUT Bulkogi's KFR is one of my favvvs. I don't know how they make it, but they make it better than my mom's and that's the best compliment I can ever give you. Their quesadillas are to die for. You need to eat them as soon as you can while the cheese is still super meltyy. My go-to meat is spicy pork, but any other meat I've tried so far never disappointed me. I am so so happy that Bulkogi is so close to my work that I can pop by after work and hang out at Boxyard and enjoy their deliciousness in my belly. I feel blessed :) read more

I appreciate the variety at Boxyard RTP, it's a great little spot in the RTP area. I've had Bulkogi on the food truck and loved it so I had come visit their location at Boxyard. The space was smaller than I thought so it felt full even though there were only a few customers, it was a little too warm to eat outside but I'm sure it would be nice when it cools down or in the evening. I order the spicy beef burrito bowl and the flavor was consistent with what I got on their food truck last time. I didn't think Korean and Tex Mex could work but it works and it's delicious. The portion is amazing, I was able to save the other half for lunch the next day. The spicy aioli is where it's at, I could put that on everything! Personally did not think the sweet bulgogi flavor inside a cheese quesadilla went along the best but it was one of the "lighter" seeming pick up/put down casual options there. If they had a kids menu that was half the size of normal bowls of quesadilla, that would've been great but definitely would reconsider coming back when Hungry. My friend got the meat lover's bowl which he devoured despite the large quantity of meat and food. The portion feels good for the price point. I am glad I got there for lunch on a weekday ~11:40 pm because by noon, so many people were waiting at the kiosks to order. Want to build your own Korean bowl? You have a variety of options. Make it how you like it. Want to spice it up? Double up on the Korean BBQ sauce or add from a selection of four sauces at the pickup counter. The tables are set up community style. Sit down and get to know the people around you. They take orders at three kiosks. They were quick on the day I went, but I imagine there will be a line out the door during the warmer months. Indoor seating is limited, but there is plenty of outdoor seating when the weather cooperates. Come by for your lunch break if you work in the nearby office buildings. I always made an effort to visit whenever the food truck was near my work. I am so happy for them to have a permanent spot at Boxyard. My go-to is the bibimbap with beef. The portions are HUGE so come hungry. I like the bibimbap option because it includes a good variety of veggies (arugula, zucchini, sautéed carrots, bean sprouts and pickled daikon radish). I like to top my food with their spicy Mayo sauce. You order off a self service station and then they call your name on the opposite end once your food is ready. read more
