I have been going here happily for years, and have tried so many of thier items from salted yolk lemonade, to their banh mi, to spicy beef soup. It's always a great place for a more affordable option, so sometimes I meet with friends here as well. The one thing I have been so sad to see go is they used to have the absolute best Pandan Bubble Tea. I couldn't find this flavor anywhere else--and now not even here. :( For now for my bubble tea fix I go for a taro. The consistency is always creamy, light, sweet and the tapioca has a good flavor. Vietnamese Noodle House did it again! I picked up dinner tonight for myself. I went with my usual ... The lemongrass sizzling plate with chicken and lots of chili oil. I also got an order of their crab Rangoon. So good. Lots of creamy crab mixture, super crispy exterior. I love that their soy sauce and Rangoon sauce are made by them in house. First time at this location, menu is the same as their other location which is great since they have many vegetarian choices. Basically you can get a version of all their main dishes with either veggie chicken or tofu. I decided to try their tofu curry for the first time. The portion if very generous and its either served with noodles or rice. It comes with traditional viet curry veggies like carrots, eggplants and sweet potatoes and some not so traditional like brocolli and cabagge. Broth was usual viet curry consistency, on a thinner side, but with lots of flavor and warmth. I also got a cold Vietnamese coffee, nice and strong, sweet but not overwhelmingly so. Because it's so good. On my most recent visit I had the pork steam dumplings and beef pho. The dumplings were great- not gummy and the ginger soy sauce was an excellent complement. The pho was like a huh in a bowl. This stuff could bring world peace if we'd all just sit down and have a bowl. Everything was delicious. I ordered the regular banh mi but with tofu and was given the vegan banh mi, but didn't say anything because it was still delicious. The fried daikon cake was my very favorite thing we got. The creamy udon noodle soup was also great (but not so good that I'd get it again next time and pass up trying something else). I got a iced thai tea to drink, crab rangoons for an app, and the wonton noodle soup. Their crab rangoons are the best I have found. So crispy and the filling has scallions in it and the sweet chili sauce on the side is delicious. I could have just got 3 orders of those and been happy. The soup came out steaming hot. One of the best spots in Syracuse. A solid experience on all fronts. You'd never suspect how amazing this restaurant is just from glancing at the outside -- just a typical strip mall. The food is really very good... everything I've had there is hot, delicious and served promptly - with efficient and courteous wait staff and rarely a wait for a table even though this restaurant is consistently busy. Anything on the menu that's marked as spicy is flavorful and a delight to eat. My daughter is always asking me to take her there when she's home from college. I'd give this restaurant a 5-star review, but the only constructive comment I have is that while the size of the bowls are generous, there's lots of broth and not as much food as you'd hope for leaving you still feeling a bit hungry. That and the meat portions are actually deli cold cuts or processed meat heated up in the broth than actual fresh cuts of cooked meat. Tried pickup at north Syracuse and got very little broth compared to what I get at the camillus location plus the "medium rare" beef was super well done. Brought it back in after checking in my car and they said that's how it is and theses nothing they can do. I must say so far this is the best pho broth ever @ restaurant (My co-worker home made broth is better). Very very light and not over powering, not greasy, ... Very pleasant broth. Flavorful and perfumed with ginger and garlic they started us off right. I had a special combo noodle bowl with vermicelli rice noodles with grilled pork, pork patties, shrimp, and a crispy egg roll topped with lettuce, cucumber, bean sprouts, white onions, scallions, mint, vietnamese pickles, and peanuts. A delight for the tastebuds with so much umami flavor. It reminded me of a Vietnamese poke bowl. My husband had beef stew which is a bit of a misnomer for the amazing bowl that was set before him. A fragrant bowl filled with broth, noodles, meat and vegetables. He drank the broth down to the last drop. My banana bubble teas was delicious too. All of this was an amazing value too. For our entrees, we had pad thai with shrimp. Really tasty, moist, and a good number of shrimp. We also had the fun Noodle dish (wide rice noodles) with chicken. The sauce had a nice smokey taste.
