Mr. Pancake is always a highlight of our trips to the Dells. The prices are reasonable and the portions are hilariously huge. Most importantly though, the food is really good. The peanut butter pancakes are my favorite. I've never been able to replicate them at home. This time I decided to try the hot fudge banana split waffle. It was over the top, but also really tasty! Give it a try if you want to try something really unique for breakfast. Know that it can get pretty loud in there, but the Dells are a family friendly area, so no big deal there. read more

A solid, a-ok breakfast spot in the Wisconsin Dells. Came here on our last morning in the Dells for breakfast. There was a lengthy wait and their waitlist system is a bit chaotic. They have a strict, no waiting outside policy (I mean, I guess you could wait outside, but they won't call your name out there, so you'd never know when your table was ready). So, everyone waiting for tables are required to wait in their front room/retail space. It was ridiculously crowded when we were there, which made cramming into the front room a little uncomfortable. The dining room is loud and didn't really have a good configuration (basic tables, no booths, very little to absorb the sound). I ordered buttermilk pancakes with a side of their hash browns with cheese and onions added. The hash browns were a buttery delight. The pancakes were solid. Oh! And, the coffee was your basic diner coffee (though bonus points for flavored creamer!). All in all: Solid eats at extremely reasonable prices in a noisy, chaotic atmosphere. read more

I will keep my review straightforward and simple. The reason why I gave the restaurant three stars is because I enjoyed my Cinnamon Apple Waffle. It was perfect - the apples were fresh and did not have that fake syrup-y taste. However, my husband ordered a Veggie Omelette and was extremely dissatisfied. I could smell the old (maybe rotten?) tomatoes over the aroma of my waffle. He said his veggies were hard and raw - he suggests they should have been softer. The omelette was also not seasoned very well, if at all. He never leaves food on a plate yet at this restaurant, he left half his omelette go to waste. I would have said all this to the lady at the register but surprisingly, nobody asked whether we enjoyed our food. All in all, we probably will not be returning here again. read more

Drove by this place on the way to our hotel so we came the next morning for breakfast. It doesn't look very big on the outside, so we thought we'd be waiting for awhile, but on the inside it's big and we got seated right away. Our server was Trevor, he was very nice and very attentive. The food was REALLY good too and came out quickly!!! One thing I wish they would do though is label the syrups... there are 3 different syrups on the table, one is obviously strawberry since it's red, but the other 2 are brown and look exactly the same. Turns out, one was cinnamon flavored. I was a little disappointed but it's ok, it still tasted ok. It was very loud inside due to there being a lot of people, but the food was great so I didn't mind too much. I thought everything was nice, except the bathroom. The bathroom was gross. It was dirty, there was a clogged toilet in one stall, there were paper towels and toilet paper everywhere, and the stalls are extremely small. I'm a little overweight and I could barely get in and out of the stall, when I normally can easily get in and out of standard sized bathroom stalls. Other than the bathroom being gross, I'd highly recommend this place!!! read more

We were staying at a resort down the street and decided to try this place since it was so close. We got there at about 11am. There was about a 5 minute wait before we were seated. The waitress was courteous and prompt. I ordered fresh orange juice with a bacon waffle and a side of fruit. I didn't know how much bacon was going to be in the waffle so I also ordered a side of bacon just to make sure I had enough. It was unnecessary as there was a complete layer of bacon in the middle of the waffle. The honey syrup was divine. Everyone that ordered pancakes said they were the fluffiest they'd ever had. Giving 2 stars as my kids enjoyed the whipped cream and chocolate on the pancakes. They were very busy when we arrived but most everyone was getting ready to leave. It didn't take very long to get seated. But then we never saw our waitress for 20 mins. Turns 3-4 of the the tables around us but she didn't even acknowledge us. Once she did, she was polite but we didn't see here more than 2 times. Food: it's pretty hard to screw up breakfast. But they did. So disappointing. the biscuits and gravy tasted like something you would feed your grandma at a nursing home... if you hated her. the atmosphere reminded me of my own childhood, hearing fathers yell at their kids at the table and parents arguing in the parking lot. hearing all of the screaming kids was like a free birth control. the wait for a table really wasn't that long, plus you can waste time next door shopping for trump merch, liquor, and cigarettes while you wait. service was pretty decent and even better if you're using the waitresses as a free babysitter while you contemplate your life choices. After seeing how sugary this menu is, I would not plan on making the weight limit for the waterslides at your motel. I've been a HUGE fan of this adorable little pancake house ever since my family started going there about 32 years ago. I have gone back as an adult, and I can tell you that I am even more appreciative of this place. The only issue I have is that sometimes there is a very long wait to be seated. But there's a little gift shop, so you can do some shopping while you wait. First, I have to mention that the pancakes are the most amazing pancakes I've ever had. They are about a half inch thick and delicious! I've never tasted such good pancakes from a pancake restaurant. Go figure. They are fluffy and buttermilky. The different flavored syrups are a great addition. I think there was a honey cinnamon type of syrup there (went a couple years ago, so I can't exactly remember), and it is delicious. I always joke with my husband that I'll drive the 3.5 hours it takes to get to Wisconsin Dells, just so I can have their pancakes. Seriously. This girl don't joke about food! If you're in Wis. That does not seem to be norm right now. The hash browns could be shared between 2 people. They even had sugar free syrup. We were fortunate with our timing since we did not have to wait. Go there on a Friday morning around 930am. The rush seemed to start right before 10am. The pancakes were good, as we anticipated since it is called Mr. Pancake. Otherwise, it's your usual breakfast place. Nothing really stood out to make me feel like this was a place I would go out of my way to come too. We were visiting Wisconsin Dells and this came up as one of the best places for breakfast. Be there before 9AM if you don't like waiting. Post 9, this place is crowded with huge wait time. Food is great, with plenty of options and they have got syrups to go with pancakes. Our server Paula was amazing with helping us with customization and gave us syrup combo that go well with different pancakes we ordered. Their hasbrown comes with toppings to choose from. Their seating is a bit crazy. Their big group (7-8) table is near bathroom and people in corner seats can see into the bathroom. The staff said it is usually this crazy, but they were not attentive. Bad experience. We came to wiscomsin for vacation. First the biggest problem was the food.7 out of 10 people got diarreah within 10 minutes. 3 remained sick. Sick to the point we had to skip going to noahs ark because of stomach issues. There's an automatic gratuity of 18% after 5 guest which fine I guess but problem is we had shit service. The food was brought out a couple plates at a time where we weren't eating breakfast together. The waitress gave the food and left. No refills no hey how's the food. We were ready to leave and had to keep asking for our waitress so we could get the check $100 for 9 adults and a child For simple orders Including a $15 tip. And then when checking out ask . will the tip be cash or card. Like um no the tip is already there and shes well over tipped. Also had to argue with the people that sitted us. Didnt want to let us take the baby's bottle in because it had liquids in it. And everything has to be purchased. Like please tell me where on the menu do you sell mothers breast milk! However don't listen to her review because she was literally screaming at the top of her lungs at the staff. How embarrassing. What a wonderful experience. I am not sure if this is family owned or not but it certainly felt that way. Our server was nothing short of great. The pancakes and sausage were so good. The French toast was also cooked perfect! Everyone in our family said the flavor was "SO GOOD!" If you are ever in the Dells area this is a MUST for breakfast!!! What a pleasant surprise! After the previous morning's horrific nightmare of a breakfast at Paul Bunyan's, it was good to find a breakfast place in the Dells that actually served real food. Everyone in my group of 7 was pleased with our food. I ordered the peanut butter pancakes (see pic). To my surprise they actually had peanut butter inside the pancakes in addition to the reese's pieces on top. They were very tasty, but really filling (I couldn't finish them all). My other friends ordered things like the chocolate chip pancakes, banana walnut pancakes, and bacon and eggs. All received good reviews from them. Service was pretty quick, and we didn't have to wait as much time as they originally said despite having a big group. I don't have any real complaints. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because brunch is my favorite meal of the day and I have really high standards. 4.5 stars. Highly recommended. read more

I was told this restaurant was good. But every time I went to the dells there was no parking and it always seemed too full. So this time although the parking area was packed someone was leaving and we scored a parking right in front of the door.!!! The place was super packed with people waiting to be seated. Just a huge crowd standing around. I've never seen so many people waiting to be seated. My husband immidiately wanted to run out and mentioned it was probably a 2 hour wait. We asked and we were told 25 minutes. We agreed to wait 25 min. We didn't think it was possible but yes we were seated 25 min exactly. They were calling numbers and we're very organized doing so. The waitress was friendly and attentive. No wonder they moved fast the place was pretty spacious. I could tell the waitresses were used to it being busy. Everyone loved their meals. I had the Mexican omelet, that was very good. Everyone else had different pancake meals and they were happy and loved it. Only thing they put my husband's fried eggs on the same plate with his pancakes, but got us an extra plate soon as we asked. They had different types of syrup on the table like honey syrup, strawberry syrup, regular and others. The food also came out super fast considering how busy they were. Definitely check it out.
