BLUF: OK food, reasonably priced. Mr. Pang or 胖東來 (Pang Dong Lai; literally, "fat Dong Lai"), presumably after named after the grocery chain based in Henan, China, is a stall in New World Mall Food Court that serves meal sets -- rice, clay pot rice, and noodle soups -- at reasonable prices. We've tried three meal sets: - Grilled Chicken Combo 新奧爾良烤雞排套餐 ("New Orleans Chicken Steak Set"): $12 - Black Pepper Beef Combo 黑椒牛肉套餐: $12. The beef had more of a shacha (沙茶) flavor than black pepper flavor. - Beef and Shrimp Clay Pot 牛肉鮮蝦煲: $15. Comes with three large shrimp in shell with head. The meal sets come with a protein (in our case, we've tried chicken and beef), pickled radish, a hard-boiled egg and some Chinese broccoli, pork bone soup, and a bowl of braised pork rice. The food, though not award-winning, is generally well-executed. Even the soup, which can be an afterthought in other places, was somewhat substantive. Other: Most of New World Food Court is a mobile phone dead zone. The restrooms in the basement and 2nd Floor are poorly maintained. Plan ahead accordingly.

The noodles were incredibly bouncy and had an amazing mouth feel. The broth was rich and bursting with flavor. I'm allergic to shrimp and got the vegetable broth with beef and was worried about that flavor but it was so amazing I plan to become a regular. My husband enjoyed the traditional shrimp wonton soup and he said it was delicious!! Small inside dining area but on a weekday we had no wait. There was also "outdoor" dining area Can't wait to return (salivating writing This review )

I ate in the enclosed patio which only had two tables, and the inside didn't seem much bigger. There is no bathroom for customers so don't bank on bio breaks here. It's efficient in that I was seated promptly, was able to place my order when I was ready, and the food came out lickety-split. Carry cash for a discount. I ordered the Wonton, Dumpling, & Beef Stew Noodle Soup ($14.75) under the "Popular Items" section of the menu since it seemed sampler-esque. The wontons and dumplings were similar since they both contained shrimp and pork but I leaned towards the dumplings since they also included mushroom, bamboo, wood ear, and chives. The duck egg noodles, beef, and broth rounded out the awesomeness. Can't wait to return with others!

You order on iPad at the table, and the staff is available if you have any questions. When you confirm your order on the iPad, they will confirm with you. Service is friendly and helpful. The food came out quick! Their kitchen is in the basement and they have the dumb waiter sending up food, so very efficient use of space. The Dumplings in Chili Oil (can adjust spice level and cilantro) has added texture with crushed peanuts. We got the regular spicy, but could have gotten extra spicy. They were a decent appetizer but I'd go for something else. The Abalone and Chicken Rice Noodles had decent chicken flavor. There were a couple pieces of dark meat, which I enjoyed. Not sure if there was abalone in here, but if there was, it was nondescript. The rice noodles were well cooked. The Plum Juice had a lovely smokey flavor, along with a lemony flavor form the couple of lemon slices inside. It was not too sweet, though I personally could go for less sugar. Overall, a decent spot for rice noodles. They do have multiple locations, so go to the one near you! No need to go out of your way.

I've brought friends here because I've always enjoyed their dishes. There also aren't many noodle restaurants left in the neighborhood, so it's nice to have a spot like this. It's a great place to visit on a cold day. The restaurant itself is a decent size. It can get busy in the evenings, but for the most part, you can still find a table. The portions are quite generous, and the service is good. There's minimal interaction with the staff since you place your order through a tablet provided at the table. Be mindful if you have peanut allergies definitely let them know so they don't sprinkle peanut on certain dishes. Overall, this is a great place to get a warm noodle soups during Winter season.

It has become one of our regular spots whenever we're in Flushing. We stopped in tonight around 5:00 p.m., and it was already busy, which is always a good sign. We shared the seafood pancake, my husband ordered the steamed dumplings, and I had the soft tofu with long noodles and vegetables in a mild flavor. Everything was flavorful and satisfying as always. I forgot to take photos of the seafood pancake and dumplings before we started eating--they looked too good to wait! They also bring two complimentary small side dishes to start. I usually go straight for the kimchi, and the staff is always attentive, asking if we need more and happily bringing additional servings. The entire staff is kind, courteous, and attentive. This continues to be a reliable and enjoyable place for us, and we will definitely keep coming back.

Big space, easy to come in on a weeknight and get seated for a table of four and the service was very friendly. This place is perfect for when it's the winter and you need some knifecut noodles to help heal your soul. We got a variety of them of varying thicknesses, which one you'll like better is entirely preference. We got the dumplings and the okonomi which were solid, though I think the noodles is really where they shine. Unassuming place, made it onto this reddit list of authentic places people would eat seeking food from their own countires and as someone who grew up eating a fair amount of korean food I really liked it here. Hope they stick around for a long time!

Super comforting and satisfying!!! The spice level wasn't overwhelming, but it still had that numbing mala kick I like. Definitely better with rice noodles! One thing to note is that it doesn't actually come with protein or vegetables by default. You have to order everything separately, which wasn't super clear since the pictures made it look more complete than it is... I also tried the shredded potatoes, which was pickled...I've had better elsewhere. Got a side of pig ears as well. It was fine, but they were sliced very thin so there wasn't much to it. Overall, I'd come back for the noodles and would try different broths next time.

They serve the classic, affordable Yunnan rice noodle soup with all the toppings deconstructed into little side dishes. We ordered the first option-- the spicy green pepper crossbridge noodle soup. Although we have an okay spice tolerance, do be warned it is pretty spicy!! We even asked for it to be less spicy when ordering but it was still a decent amount of spice so we asked for some extra plain broth on the side. As for portion size, the amount of rice noodles they give you is MASSIVE. They basically give you an entire mountain of noodles, and next to your table on the wall there's even a sign that says you can get a free second serving of noodles (we could barely finish the first serving of noodles). Service is quick, and our order came pretty quickly as well. It's not my first time having Yunnan cuisine, I just wish that they served some other classic Yunnan dishes as well! (Which has been pretty hard to find in the US.)

This place feels like a hidden gem you almost want to keep secret... but it's just too good not to share. What makes Pho Metro stand out right away is how authentic it feels. You can tell this is truly a labor of love. One guy runs the show and somehow manages to do it all, from cooking to serving, and the care he puts into the food absolutely shows in every single bite. It has that comforting, homemade quality that makes you feel like you've stepped into a small family kitchen rather than just another restaurant. The food itself is outstanding. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, from the herbs to the broth. I highly recommend the thin noodles with the spicy lemongrass broth (you can request this if it's not listed). It's bursting with flavor, slightly tangy, perfectly spicy, and deeply savory in a way that warms you from the inside out. Every spoonful feels like a cozy blanket on a cold day. The summer rolls are another must-order. They're fresh, light, and packed with flavor, and the peanut sauce that comes with them is absolutely delicious. It's rich, savory, and addictive enough that you'll find yourself scraping the cup to get every last drop. Another detail I really appreciated is how everything you need is right at your fingertips. All the sauces are readily available at the table, so you can customize your bowl exactly how you like it without having to ask or wait. It makes the whole experience feel easy, comfortable, and welcoming. And don't skip the Thai iced tea. It's perfectly sweet, creamy, and refreshing, especially alongside the bold flavors of the pho. It's the kind of drink that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. Overall, this place delivers on flavor, authenticity, and heart. It's rare to find a spot where you can truly taste the effort and pride in every dish, but Pho Metro does exactly that. I will absolutely be returning again and again. If you're in the area, make the stop. You won't be disappointed.
