The atmosphere is amazing. The owner walked around and greeted the guest checked on us consistently throughout our meal. There is live music and the ceaser dressing is made at the table! The staff was amazing. And the food was great! Overall it was a great experience

Walking in - was thinking gunna be 5 stars easy. The 1970s ambiance - plus even the bus boys dressed in ties. Didn't take reservations, but seated right away, at 8:50 pm Breadbasket- water arrived. 10 minutes later- a very busy waitress brought menus. Next time thru - had to ask for wine list. Lobster cargot appetizer was recommended- ordered- came back - they were out. Ordered escargot instead- came to table burnt & black - had to send back - ordered prime rib - they were out. Changed to duck dinner & chicken Marsala. Was told they were out of potatoes? Onion soup came - tasted great. Duck & chicken tasted very good - rice was so salty couldn't really eat it. No reason for me to rush back

Came here on a Saturday night without reservations and waited about 25 minutes, which was understandable since we were a party of four and the restaurant was packed. We grabbed a few rounds of drinks at the bar while we waited. The ambiance was beautiful, especially with the holiday decorations. This restaurant has been around for decades, and surprisingly this was my first visit. We ordered the tableside Caesar salad, which came highly recommended. Unfortunately, it had too much dressing for my taste and wasn't lemony enough. The French onion soup was very salty, and I could only manage a few bites. For mains, the filet mignon was a 10/10, cooked perfectly. We also ordered crab legs, which were pricey and below average, though that's somewhat understandable given it's off-season. On the other hand, the halibut and scallops were outstanding and definitely a highlight of the meal. Overall, the service was decent, but I do wish our waitress had checked on us more often, as we found ourselves waiting quite a bit between visits.

This is the sorriest Caesar salad I ever had. I actually asked for the Parmesan cheese to be added. Staff is what won here not the food. The steak wasn't flavorful, but tender.

I dined here with my best friend after reading all of the great reviews and we were not disappointed. We were seated right way on a Saturday for an early dinner. Service was excellent from start to finish. We had the table side Caesar salad, the 9 ounce filet with redskin potatoes, clam chowder and it came with a bread basket. Our waters were constantly filled. It's a very old school dining experience and we loved it.

My buddy brought me here to celebrate my birthday (well, the day after--but still a celebration!), and wow, what an incredible experience! It was me, Robert, and RJ, and from the moment we walked in, I knew this place was special. Paul's Chophouse has that classic old-school steakhouse vibe -- dim lighting, great atmosphere, and a level of service you just don't see much anymore. First off, the customer service here is absolutely top-notch. Our server Valia was fantastic -- attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect. She kept the wine glasses full for my buddies, and since I'm more of a water drinker (and sipping on my Kettle One), she made sure my glass never went empty either. One of the coolest parts of the night was watching Riley make our Caesar salad tableside -- and let me tell you, it was hands down the best Caesar salad I've ever had. Perfectly balanced, fresh, and full of flavor. For dinner, I went with the filet, and it was cooked to absolute perfection -- tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. I joked with my buddies that I was going to ask for A1, but then laughed and said the chef would probably come out and beat my ass for that one -- because honestly, the steak didn't need anything. It was that good. This was my first time at Paul's, which is crazy because I used to work in Roseville back in the '90s -- and now I can't believe I've been missing out all these years. Between the vibe, the food, and the amazing service, this place is a gem. I'll definitely be back. Paul's Chophouse is a true classic.

Is the 17.00 Caesar salad for only one person?

No the salad is prepared at your table and served ..depending on how many people at your table having it.. they won’t prepare just one at your table..they make enough for four servings…

Are the meals a la carte?

No but you can always add À la cart

Is there a private room for small groups?

They have several little rooms available that can be reserved off

Hi ,should I make book for reservations?

While there is plenty of seating, and you could potentially get seated quickly without, I would recommend a reservation.

What is your favorite dish (dishes) at Mr. Paul's?

We visited on a Saturday night during the dinner rush and it was extremely busy. We joined the call-ahead list and were seated about 15 minutes after our arrival time, which was actually pretty reasonable considering how packed it was. We had three little kids with us, so we ordered drinks and everyone's meals right away. Everything took quite a while to reach the table, but the restaurant was clearly slammed, so it didn't seem like anyone's fault--just the result of how busy they were. Unfortunately, both my steak and my mother-in-law's steak kabobs were overcooked. We had ordered them medium and they came out well done. The kitchen did remake them, but because the restaurant was so busy it took quite a while for the replacements to come back. By the time they arrived, everyone else at the table had finished eating and our sides were already gone. The manager came over, spent some time talking with us, and adjusted our bill, which we really appreciated. He handled the situation well and seemed like a great guy who genuinely cares about the restaurant and the guests. We will definitely return, but probably not on a Saturday night during peak dinner hours.

This isn't slow like - just relax - you're here with friends - it's slow like - is anyone ever going to take our order, bring us a drink or bring us our food? It's pretty irritating to sit at a table with nothing on it and wait for anyone to come by and ask us what we want to drink. Then when we finally did order a drink - (waters, beers, pops & coffees), where are they and where is she? Finally she returns with drinks - disappears again. Everyone is getting mad - we just want to order some food. Once our food order is placed we wait again a lot more. The food came out in shifts - poor kitchen management? I don't know. I ordered the Southwest Eggrolls that sounded delicious, but when they finally showed up they were undercooked and awful. I was finally able to send them back and the waitress promised they'd be cooked some more. In the meantime food was slowly coming out. One of the guests meal literally came after everyone was finally done eating - not kidding. Poor guy sat there and watched all of us eat - he was a saint. Waitress kept promising it was 'almost ready'. My eggrolls came back out - still not good. I just decided not to eat them. No one was happy when we left. This is my second try here, I won't be back. Several others commented that this place is always slow - so I think they won't be back either. They just lost 10 diners.

My chicken was very overcooked to the point it was rubbery and inedible. The Marsala sauce tasted nothing of Marsala, but only of garlic. The potatoes tasted as if they were made that morning and kept in a container before being microwaved and served to me. The Parmesan tastes and looks like the fake Kraft sawdust crap... very disappointing. You can get better "Italian" food down the road at Olive Garden for the same price. Building is also pretty small, making seating extremely cramped and uncomfortable. On the plus side, our wait staff was extremely friendly and answered all of our questions. To broaden our experience, my friend and I split everything we ordered. Dinner was AMAZING....5/5 APPETIZER: "Burrata Camponata" A mound of this heavenly Eggplant Relish, severalthick slices of fresh Burrata oozing cheese, and a big mound of imported, freshly shaved Prosciutto off of the special shaver that sits in the dining room for the dishes that require this beautifully seasoned ham. Absolutely delicious appetizer! The basket of fresh Italian bread and olive oil for dipping was put to use with our glasses of Chianti and then enjoyed very soon as an olive oil topped bread base for our well-placed trio of this gorgeous appetizer. Next, for the salad, we chose to split the "Charred (on a hot coal grill !) Romaine on the grill Caesar Salad" with an anchovie garnish The perfectly seasoned croutons were made in-house, and so was their most divine (BEST I've ever had) Caesar dressing! We split 2 Entrees: Pasta Carbonara created in the imported, authentic, giant Parmesan wheel table-side Espresso-encrusted Prime cut sirloin steak Med Rare with roasted redskins and fresh, petite green beans. It was the most tender cut of beef with huge flavor, made even more so from the grill. It was perfection, simple fare, highest quality of ingredients, all prepared and presented beautifully. The staff were always attentive, though not smothering, and genuinely friendly with a ready smile. Our dinner started with easy to make reservations for four for a Friday night. Once arrived we were promptly seated and introductions made, Annie was our server(and more). I had note seen the menu in over a year so I personally was delighted to see plenty of ocean going features, specifically the grilled Octopus, shellfish and more. Before the food everyone agreed on a drink. Everyone tried something different than the others. Drinks included a Chocolate Martini, Limoncello(homemade) like grandma made it) Martini, Tanqueray and Tonic and Makers Mark Old fashioned for me. Everyone agreed the drinks were just right. Annie was then asked to bring out some Grilled Octopus. A HUGE and thick long leg was then served. DELICIOUS! Dinner was ordered with some questions(by me). I was intrigued by the Black Linguine. Basically a fruit de Mare or shellfish but with white wine. I asked for a subscription to a spicy red pasta sauce, not available. However, my friends wife chose this and said it was delicious. My friend and also my opted for the table side Carbonara. Basically a long sting pasta with a cheese wheel at the table. The cheese gets heated up and then scraped and put into the pasta. Our cheese scraper was entertaining and put on a nice show. For me, I decided on the Branzino, which was served whole but deboned at the table, with sauteed spinach. From the first bite, I was in heaven. We then had a second round of drinks, the girls switched things up and went for Cosmos, us guys repeated what we had earlier. Lastly, we just had to have dessert and were we glad we did. Both couple opted to share with one another. Our friends chose the Profiterole which they said was delicious. However, everyone loved our choice; Nicciola Mousse Tart. This is a MUST get. I can't even describe it other than I should have gotten one for the road. This place also had some soft entertainment, keyboard player. So glad we made the journey here. Highly recommend it!
