There are very few places to order a mixed plate here in Austin and this tasted the closest I've had to home in a long time. We ordered the Ohana Platter, Garlic Butter Shrimp Plate, Maui Kalbi Ribs, and Spam Musubi. Everything was hot and delicious and so so so flavorful. The finedene was an amazing touch. I wish I had gotten a chance to order a plate of red rice to complete my craving but I will definitely be back to order a catering pan of it! The mac-n-cheese, and greens were not well cooked. Soul food to me is oven baked mac-n-cheese and not stove top mac-n-cheese. The greens were missing a lot of flavor. Again, the fried ribs were okay but nothing to be too excited about. Korean Fried Chicken Plate: I wish the sauce would be mixed into it, but I know they did um like this to prevent it from being soggy. The delicious sauce on the side is great as a dipping sauce. Garlic Shrimp (Special): I ordered a side order of just the shrimp. I wish it was a bit more garlicky and salty, but otherwise, the shrimp are a decent size and not tiny. It is flavorful with a slight crispy texture. Teriyaki Chicken Plate: I was always an ok fan of teri chicken, but my kids loved it. Spam Musubi: exactly how it's supposed to be. While placing the order, she mentioned there were plumbing issues and something was overflowing, which raised another concern about the cleanliness of the environment. She also seemed anxious and unprofessional during the interaction. We were told the food would take about 15 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 30-45 minutes. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations, especially for the price. The oxtails, rice, greens, and macaroni and cheese were around $36. The okra looked like it had been refried, and the chicken wings tasted as though they were cooked in old grease. The greens had an unusual flavor, and the macaroni and cheese did not taste like traditional mac and cheese. The oxtails were messy but not tender. Based on the lack of professionalism, the long wait, and the overall quality of the food, I do not plan to return.
