We've used the services of Mr. Plumber several times. We always had a positive experience. It's quick and easy to request service online, they always show up in the timeframe they said they would and they always completed the work satisfactorily. After a number of recurring pinhole leaks in a 38-year old house, Mr. Plumber recommended that they re-plumb the entire house. That work was completed in September 2022 and included a 3-year warranty. On October 9 of this year, we discovered water on the floor in the terrace level bathroom. Looking further we found that water had been leaking long enough to result in mold covering 40% of the wall in front of where the pinhole leak was ultimately discovered. We did not see the mold or the discolored wall because it was directly behind a large heavy piece of furniture. Mr. Plumber discovered the source of the leak and repaired it. Mr. Plumber refused to honor their 3-year warranty because we made them aware of the issue after 3-years time. No dispute with that. However, given the amount of mold that grew and the ultimate extent of the damage to the terrace level, the leak obviously occurred prior to the warranty expiration. It just wasn't discovered before that. While onsite at our house, Mr. Plumber's representative, who repaired the pinhole, spoke to the office regarding the warranty and was told that it had expired and the only thing they could do for us was offer a discount on the repair. When he requested that someone in the office who apparently had oversight to authorize repairs for the leak and pay for the damages the leak caused, he was told that he was to break the news. Obviously, Mr. Plumber's manager did not want to speak to us. As I said above, until now, we've always had good experiences with Mr. Plumber. The plumbers who have come to our house and made repairs have always been excellent representatives of their company. I can't say the same for management which chose to hide behind their on-site rep, knowing he had zero authority to authorize warranty repairs and damage. Not a good way to treat employees or customers. Next time we need a plumber, we won't be calling Mr. Plumber. read more

Without my knowledge my elderly mother approved having a new sump pump replaced by Mr. Plumber. They charged over $1600 to unplug the old pump and pull it out of the sump. Then drop in a new $100 pump. No wiring. Just plug and play. A 5min job. It's horrible knowing there are companies out there doing stuff like this to vulnerable people. We called Mr Plumber when we discovered water leaking under the kitchen sink. We scheduled an appointment for today between 12a and 6pm. While we were out of the house earlier today the tech calls to say he was on the way to my home even though he wasn't to arrive until after 12p. Strike One! When the tech arrives he looks at the job which was to repair the drain assembly of a kitchen sink with PVC fittings. The price he wanted for the job was $1000.00! He said he was going to waive $200.00 from the price bringing it to $800.00! We feel like you are price gouging and we are disappointed in your company. read more

We used Mr. Plumber when we had new flooring put in 2 of our bathrooms. They were always on time as well as professional and courteous. Mr. Henson and Mr. Ervin did an excellent job removing and replacing our commodes. They went above and beyond with our project! Unfortunately, our flooring instellation was delayed and Mr. Henson drove from Atlanta to our home, Gainesville, GA, to replace our commodes. Otherwise, we would have been without commodes for several days! After replacing our commodes the second time, Mr. Ervin checked the insides of our commodes and they needed repair work. This is in Response to Donna K: regardless of the way you price jobs, you're extremely expensive. My hypothetical I gave is accurate. My cameras on my house clearly showed 2.5 hours. Your flat rate, is excessive and that's why a lot of plumbers have lousy reputations. The fact that you don't break out your pricing is proof that you're a crook. I had my water heater go out on Christmas Day. I filled out an appointment request for the next day. They were late getting to my house, which isn't all the big of a deal. Why they get the one star is that they charged me $3200 for a new 50 gallon water and a water pressure relief valve, which they had to go to Home Depot to get. Their invoice wasn't itemized. It didn't show the cost of the heater, just a line item for $2800 and another line item for $550. I called their office to ask for an itemized invoice, the woman said she'd have the technician call me, which he did, but said his iPad doesn't have the ability to show an itemized work order and that he's ask a manager and call me back, which he never did. The technicians were at my house for a total of 2.5 hours. Hypothetically speaking if the water heater was say $1500, labor for 2.5 hours was $1300? Plus the relief valve is $168 at Home Depot, so the labor to install it was $382? I will never use this company again. Today, Wes repaired the brass back-flow connector on my side of the water meter. The threaded part had cracked and leaked badly. The cost, $644, was in line with other estimates I had received. He showed me how the water can be turned on and off. Also explained how a more extensive repair could have been done for $1,100. I opted for the less expensive repair. I think it will hold. Back in October, Brandon repaired my one-year-old Rheem gas hot water heater. The gas regulator failed. Rheem sent the part but I had to pay for the labor. The heater had been installed by another company with only a 30 day warranty. The Mr. Plumber plumbers were professional, wore company shirts, had proper ID, wore masks, and took the time to clearly explain the repairs. Long time Mr. Plumber customer that is very disappointed. Here's what went right and what went wrong: What went right: There was no problem with the technician that was sent out. He doesn't arrange the schedule and he doesn't set the cost for each service. It appears that the task he performed was competently and successfully completed. What went wrong: Pretty much everything else. I scheduled an appointment with Mr. Plumber to replace a shower cartridge because the shower handle was no longer functional. I was given a time between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon for the technician to arrive. At 10:30 am I received a call from Mr. Plumber saying that the technician was running behind and it would be closer to 12:00 noon before he arrived. He didn't arrive until 2:30 pm. Upon inspecting the shower handle and its cartridge he said that he didn't have the necessary part however I could order the part from Home Depot and he would come back first thing the next day and make the repair. I've never had a technician from any industry tell me that I had to order parts myself so that was interesting. The part arrived later in the day and I called Mr. Plumber and explained what had transpired. They told me that I would be the first call the next day with a window of 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. By 9:30 am the technician had not arrived and since I was expecting to be the "first call" of the day I called Mr. Plumber. They said that they were sorry but the technician had been assigned to an emergency plumbing call. He'll call you when he can come. The technician finally arrived at 11:07 am. The actual work time to install the shower cartridge took 36 minutes. The cost - $582.55. That's with a discount for being a long time customer that pays for an annual maintenance agreement and for having to pay for and order the part myself. The part cost $29.47 so my total expense was $612.02. Shocked at the cost, (for 36 minutes of actual labor this seems more in line with what a doctor or lawyer would charge), I thought I'd check around to see what other plumbers would charge for the same service. I discovered that it's well known in the plumbing community that Mr. Plumber is excessively expensive. I spoke with several other plumbing companies and asked for an estimate giving them the exact specifications of this job, (apples to apples comparison). The highest estimate I could find was for $425.00 and that included labor and parts. I also asked for an estimate for installation of a 50 gallon Bradford White gas water heater. Mr. Plumber had installed one for me one year ago in March 2024. Mr. Plumber's cost was $2,674.25. After I complained Mr. Plumber did refund 10% or $267.00. Again checking around with other plumbing companies and providing installation specific information the highest estimate I could find was $2,250.00. Significantly less than Mr. Plumber. One company owner I spoke with told me that he used to work for Mr. Plumber. He said that they are in fact ridiculously expense. So that's my story. My advice: If you have money to burn then Mr. Plumber is fine. However if you're retired and on a fixed income like me then an extra $200.00 to $300.00 for a service call is a lot out of your budget. read more

Two guys are at my house repairing the hot water tank I had to do a heater was not working and control. Module was not working so they had to actually go to the local store to buy it because it wasn't same model what they they had on their truck so they took their time and did a great job and I appreciate it and I give them a good score of 05 out of five stars is very good. They do very good work quality excellent. They have an excellent value of the product that they sell and everything look fantastic. we've used Mr. Plumber for years and have always been happy with them until now! we had a water leak in our basement where the pipe comes into the house. My husband called in for an emergency service. They were supposed to come first thing the next morning but didn't show up until 3:00. we were told by the plumber that he could not do the work because of the nature of the leak; the water line would have to be rerouted to the other side of the house. He took pictures and measurements and sent them to the ground grew. I was pleased with his service, but the next day, only one guy showed up. He did everything the guy before him did, gave me a quote of $6400, and said the crew would be out the next day! Horrible service experience! Do not use Mr. Plumber. I contracted to have a garbage disposal installed (that I had purchased from Home Depot) after receiving an on onsite estimate of $275. On the day of the install, the same plumber then told me it would be an additional $700 to move the existing PVC plumbing over a 1/4" to accommodate the larger size disposal. She acknowledged it required about $20 in new PVC parts and would take an hour to complete. That pricing, which she looked up by pictures on her iPad, seemed excessive so I declined the additional expense saying Iwould do it myself, or find another plumber. She was unable to explain how that additional fee was determined. I was none-the-less required to pay the install price even though the disposal was not installed. I found another plumber who very professionally completed the work for less than a third of the quoted cost from Mr. Plumber. The worst part was the next day I received a quality control call from someone from Mr. Plumber who acknowledged she was unimpowered to offer any remedy to the concern I shared with her other than to transfer me to another party would could help. I was placed on hold for 3 minutes listening to on-hold music that parodied people being put on hold (seriously!). After three minutes, my call went to voice mail. I had a bad customer experience made worse by their perfunctory QA call in which the caller said she "would notate my account" of my dissatisfaction. I asked what good "notating my account" would do to resolve my concern. She acknowledged nothing, but offered to transfer my call to the apparent black hole of Mr. Plumber's customer satisfaction department. My advice, find a professional outfit for your plumbing needs. read more

I called Mr plummer for a sink and tub that were slow to drain. The plummer called me when he was there and I told him that I was not there but my contractor was there. His first comment was "well how are you going to pay me"? That rubbed me wrong. I told him my credit card. He said he was going to look at the situation and call me back. In 5 minutes he called me back saying the drains in both the sink and tub needed to be snaked. That was what I expected. I asked him how much it was going to cost. He said $500 for the sink and $500 for the tub plus any associated costs. I asked if this was going to fix the problem and he said there was no guarantee. This is beyond ridiculous in price and guarantee. I had to pay a $79 fee for them just to come out and it was not going to be credited towards what I spent. Had a gas line connected to my new natural gas grill. For $2600 they delivered as promised, but in the process got plumbers sealant on my brand new deck. I spent an hour scrubbing at it with a tooth brush. Failed to remove the old line. Left drill shavings all over my brick work. Tore out the insulation and failed to replace back into the space under my sun room. Left insulation on my basement floor. Left several pieces of debris from the job on the ground underneath. Not sure about the service quality but THEY ARE ROBBER！ Warranty company sent this contractor over and they diagnosed the water heater. The technician recommended me changing the upper and bottom thermostat. Since home warranty won't cover it, Mr. Plumber quoted me for $567!! The price of the parts is only $35+tax from Home Depot. They charge $500 labor fee for thermostats which spends 20-30 mins at the most. Thank god I said no to them. Blake was on time and professional. He had a helper with him, but I didn't get his name and he spent most of his time staring daggers into space or texting on his phone like most young people. Lol. Like most homeowners, I wanted to get three estimates - so I reached out to JK Plumbing (they flaked and never got back to me start the repair / installation), RotoRooter and Mr. Plumber (which is also a part of CoolRay & Britebox Electrical). The estimate for the toilet and sink install were very reasonable compared to the RotoRooter. The estimates for the valve stem replacement and the outdoor spigot / faucet were in line with Roto Rooter. I appreciated the technician being on time. He also put on those little blue booties to protect my carpet (the carpets were actually being cleaned while he was here). He was very quiet and subdued - so even though I had a few questions - I felt a bit like I'd be getting on his nerves if I peppered him with questions. He did ask if I had any questions and he attempted to explain to me why the outdoor spigot / faucet would entail a lot of labor. I have yet to make my decision, but based on this visit - I would feel comfortable letting Mr. Plumber perform the repair. read more

I have been a Cool Ray customer for about 13 years. Today, I was quoted a ridiculously high price to fix a vent problem in my attic by Mr. Plumber. When I refused to pay that much for the job and let them know that they were also about to loose 3 other jobs related to insulation, suddenly, they were willing to do the plumbing job for less than half of what they quoted me. After this experience, I will NEVER recommend them nor will I ever consider Cool Ray, Mr. Plumber or Brightbox for any jobs in the future. The first time they came out to address an emergency leak, it was great and I would have given a 5-star review. However..... After a DIY gone bad, my wife called them for some minor repairs - at shut off valve (which needs replacement), a connection (which probably only need tightening), and flusher (need replacement). I anticipate repairs like this would cost around $200 and $400 based on what I read online. The technician came out and told my wife that we need a MAJOR plumbing system repair which include replacement of water heater, expansion tank, pressure regulator, and major rebuild of 2 toilets. Hello....my plumbing was perfectly fine before I screwed up my DIY project and now it's going to cost me $3,000?!? I got a second opinion from another plumber that a buddy recommended. To Mr. Plumber's defense, everything except the pressure regulator, need to be replaced. HOWEVER, the estimate I received was only $1300 - a third of what Mr. Plumber quoted!! The toilet rebuilding that would have cost me $909.....the other plumber charged me only $200.....see the pattern here? I know the technicians are trained to up-sell....but what I really don't appreciate is the scare tactic....using words like major rebuild - which really mean replacement of flusher, flapper, handle...etc, which even someone not handy like myself can do. Also, they make it sound like if I don't do the work now, the plumbing system will explode tomorrow. By using these tactic, they justify ripping you off with the high price. Their scheduling is horrible. Day 1 of scheduling with them, we were given a window of 9-12. No one showed. We called shortly after 12, and were then told between 1-4. No one showed. We wound up canceling and rescheduling for another day. A complete waste of a day off. On the next day, the person did show up, and we needed someone to show up again. On Day 3 of scheduling: again, we were given a window of 12-3 on a Friday. NO ONE SHOWED UP AGAIN. At 3:35 PM, I called, and was told that someone was on their way. Why would you send a crew out to an elderly disabled woman's home to fix a leak, tell her it's 977 and then after she pays you to fix the leak you tell her it's another 1200 to fix a leak that was 12" away from the first one? On March 4, 2024 my gas water heater started to leak. I called Mr. Plumber for assistance and installation of a new water heater. What went right: Mr. Plumber did get a plumber on site quickly. They get an A+ for that. What went wrong: After working for 3 hours the technician installed a new 50 gallon Bradford White gas water heater. The problem; the tech said that the new water heater leaked. The technician told me that he would have to get another water heater and that he would be back "first thing" in the morning. He said that he would pick the new water heater up at 7:30 am and be back out no later than 9:30 am. He arrived the next day at 11:56 am. So much for "first thing" the next morning. This cost me a days pay missing work for a problem that should have been fixed the first time within 3 to 4 hours. The cost to install the new water heater - $2,674.25! Wow!! That's what they charged a long time patron that's been a loyal customer and has used Mr. Plumber for well over a decade. Despite the hefty fee no price adjustment was offered for the inconvenience and aggravation which like I said, cost me a days pay waiting for Mr. Plumber to make the "second" installation. Needless to say I am not pleased. For the pricing and lack of customer service Mr. Plumber gets an F. Also, every year I have signed an annual maintenance contract with the expectation that Mr. Plumber would be fairly priced and customer oriented. In addition to being a very capable technician, Kevin is friendly and he will discuss the problems and the options with you, without any sales pressure. It's your choice. I recently requested Kevin when it came time for me to deal with a burst copper water pipe in my garage ceiling. The copper pipe line is too long from the shutoff valve inside my house to the hose faucet outside the two car garage. The line wouldn't drain and it froze during a week of 15 degree weather. I discovered it when I turned on the water this Spring. I cut into the garage ceiling to try to find the split pipe on my own; found one, but there were more. I needed Kevin's experience. Kevin repaired all three burst pipe sections. A special power crimping tool was used to make the repair connections, no soldering! I should have looked on Yelp before using Mr. Plumber. I had a backed up kitchen sink. Called Mr. Plumber and they came out the next day. This is the first time I have ever agreed to a service with out getting at least 2 quotes. The plumber snaked the drain connected to the garbage disposal. Took about 20 minutes. The charge was $371, plus the $49.99 service fee. When I called the representative said if I used them the fee would be included. Guess the plumber was trying to make extra money. I called today and they are removing the $49.99 fee. I paid approximately $200 more than what it normally costs. My advise is to shop around. I feel ripped off... read more

We hired Mr. Plumber to repair a toilet at our Founders Office location. The plumber started the repair and did not secure the pipes before leaving the location for a part which caused the entire office to flood. Mr. Plumber then started the water remediation and then stopped the clean up mid-way and refuse to finish the remediation and unfinished carpet and dry-wall repairs. Andy Piercefield (President of Coolray/Mr. Plumber) has been included on all correspondence about this disaster and hasn't done ANYTHING to make this right. I appreciated that the plumber communicated the appointment and arrival time via txt. The issue i had was a small section of what remained of a cast iron drain pipe that was leaking. It was located in the crawl space of my home. I hoped that the plumber would repair the leak instead he told he i had to call back into the office and schedule another appointment after already waiting 2 days for this visit. A good plumber makes about $25/ hr and this job intimately took 45 minutes to repair (different company) so if you assume 1 hr of work max this works out to close to $1600 (minus materials) of pure profit. I can understand a company need to make a profit bur $1800 to fix a 1 foot section of pipe is beyond a rip off!!!!! I ended up spending $400 to have it repaired and it took about 45 minutes.
