I stopped by Mr. Q Chinese Restaurant on a Sunday afternoon for takeout, and I left impressed. I ordered the General Tso's chicken with light sauce and no spice, fried rice with no vegetables, wonton soup, fried chicken, and chicken lo mein. The food was ready exactly when they said it would be, 10 minutes. It's refreshing when a restaurant respects your time. The first thing I noticed was the flavor. This didn't taste like the typical Americanized Chinese takeout you find everywhere. The dishes had depth, and the fried rice stood out because it included eggs, which made every bite richer and more satisfying. The portions were generous, especially for the price of the lunch special, so I felt like I got excellent value. My only suggestion would be to add a little more sauce to the General Tso's chicken. The flavor was great, but I wanted a bit more of it. What impressed me the most was the customer service. Mr. Q was friendly and personable. the price is good as is the food. it could be cleaner. the tea cups are way to old and needs replacing and i even told that to the owner who didnt care about what i said. will not rush back there. thats why there rating is a b. they dont use tablecloths only paper placemats. the hawaii sea is much cleaner and nicer atmosphere and alittle more expensive. you get what you pay for. the noise level is average but that depends on how crowded but lately not crowded at all. they rely on take out orders. read more
