Those who know me well know that I've spent $200 on A5 grade Kobe Beef in Japan. They also know that I put hot dogs on the same culinary pedestal. The service here has always been wonderful, be it at the window or drive-thru. But my last two visits were a little less than satisfactory. Long story short, I've arrived around 11 a.m. on both previous visits and, as I have continued north of U.S. 59 toward my destination, my hot dogs from this location have had the consistency of something that has been on a convenience store roller for multiple hours. Further, the kraut on my most recent visit tasted like they ran it through rock tumbler alongside aluminum foil. Besides fried okra, hot dogs are my favorite food in the world. Not only have I checked in at hot dog joints and called them "Mecca," I've also attended City Council meetings and encouraged them to attract more hot dog places. This place needs to do better. I understand that employees probably arrive at the joint around 9 a.m. But could the manager ease up on the throttle with tossing dogs on the grill immediately? And the kraut ... it had a strong metallic taste this time around. I'm a little spoiled on kraut, since I make my own, but I can still stomach the canned stuff. This was beyond that. Will I return here? Yep. Hopefully, my next trip will yield some fresher dogs.

I get the Wyatt Earp hotdog everytime I go - it's topped with their delicious caramelized bacon and Sriracha that just brings everything else together. I've tried every hot dog on their menu, and I can say that none of them will disappoint you and you will leave satisfied. Their desserts are just as good as well. Your traditional carnival eats jazzed up to the Nth degree. Trust me when I say that you will find something to eat here that will satisfy any craving you have, and you'll leave here feeling 'fat and happy ' as they say. The service is great too. While a two person crew, Jamie and Breian always do their best to make sure every customer is 1) Taken care of, and 2) Always served a meal that hot, fresh, delicious, and worthy of being called Buldogies. Ignore these crappy 1 star, fake reviews. They don't do the restaurant justice, and I can attest that whatever 'nonsense' they are spewing that it's embellished crap with zero information on the situation at the time.

Figured I'd start my time with a chili cheese dog. It did NOT disappoint. Reminded me of how tasty JCI used to be when I was a kid. Juicy hot dog, chili spiced just right not mild or hot just fabulous. Fries were super crispy without being over cooked. Was way too full to have anything else. So I'll have to go back for a funnel cake. They've had some rough times because of construction and other issues but they've barreled right though! Now I feel like I need a good coaster ride.

And then there was a picture of a skull lol. It's very spacious inside. Parking is like downtown parking, we parked in the street. My husband's parallel parking skills could've been better. He's too used to his back up camera. You wait in line and order. The taste of everything was solid. It's fresh. The Cajun dog is made with alligator and pork meat. Texture was good. It's messy so eat it with the fork and knife they gave you, which is my mistake. Everything just tastes better when you eat a hot dog without utensils. The paddie melt is also good as well. The rosemary garlic fries had good flavor and same with the onion rings. They happened to just bring us out the loaded onion rings so we were pleasantly surprised. Service is friendly. Very nice place. The portions were actually loaded because normally I wouldn't think I'd be full from the food but it was really filling. I give it a four out of five because it didn't blow me away. But very solid. Definitely give it a try!

We walked in during a busy breakfast rush, but there were still plenty of open tables. Once we reached the front of the line, the young lady behind the counter greeted us right away, took our order, and handed us our cups. The drink station was clean and stocked with a good selection. We grabbed a table--both the tables and floors were clean--and within about 10 minutes our food arrived. I ordered the French Toast Combo, which came with four slices of French toast, two eggs, sausage, and seasoned potatoes. The meal came out on two plates, and everything was spot on. The French toast had a perfect light crunch on the outside while staying pillowy soft inside. The scrambled eggs and sausage were solid, and the seasoned potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft inside. My wife ordered the Breakfast BLT--bacon, lettuce, tomato, fried egg, and Duke's mayo. She added a little hot sauce and absolutely loved it. Not a crumb left! She liked it so much that we also picked up a tub of their chicken salad to take home, and it was delicious later that day--no complaints at all. We'll definitely be back to Roost to try more of their menu!
