We had the duck egg BLT, we also had the fried dough app and everything I put in my mouth was delicious! 06/20/20 we walked in at 11:15 and got seated almost immediately outside on a beautiful day. Our server Nicole was awesome and the beautiful and the kind hostess Sunshine was bussing tables and being sweet as pie. The one server inside that I have to brag on is Zaria! This place is so-so. About the best thing going for it is that it's like $8 or less per person. I've heard people "rave" about this place, but when I went I really wasn't that impressed. I ordered their biscuits and gravy - which I've heard from multiple people that it's the best thing on their menu - and it wasn't anything incredibly special. The sausage gravy had good flavor, but it could've used more sausage in my opinion. The actual biscuit was overcooked. Same with my potatoes/hashbrowns. So yea - I probably won't go back here regardless of how much I hear about it. read more

Incredible food but the server i always seem to get is always full of attitude, never comes back to the table, is never patient for anything but then also doesn't refill water/coffee anything. sat at my table without a menu for 10 minutes, waited another 15 to order after we had already known what we wanted, then we're met with attitude while ordering and leaving. This is my favorite place to go for breakfast & brunch! Everything I've tried here is amazing! They use locally roasted coffee, local produce, meat, grits, eggs! There are specials during the week & mimosa specials on Saturday! They have an area for big groups if you call ahead. The staff is awesome! On my first visit the waitress took the time to talk over the menu & make suggestions based on my likes! After many visits & trying pretty much everything on the menu, I've decided that she could've suggested any option & I would've been hooked! My favorites are the appetizer donuts, The crab cake benedict with fried green tomato, & the chicken & gravy!!! Portions are huge! First time trying this place after hearing nothing but good things. I got the Farmers Breakfast. Very happy with my choice. The eggs tasted fresh. The sausage is from a local farm and was some of the best I've had. The server was very friendly and checked on us just the right amount. Tina is amazing! The food is hot and fresh! You can tell their food is no grocery store bought food. Their pancakes with the maple syrup is to die for! People who love pancakes, they have different specials every few days. All the breakfast meats have so much flavor as well as the coffee. They serve different types of coffee every day/other also. The food is delicious, and the location is convenient. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. However, every time I come in, it seems that majority of the servers don't want to be there. This is demonstrated in their attitude towards myself and other customers. There's one in particular who is ALWAYS in a bad mood whenever I come to the restaurant. Despite this, I'll keep visiting because as mentioned before, I love the food & atmosphere. I just think some of the staff needs to work on their customer service skills. read more

Been there one time, but I will say that the gravy is some of the best gravy I have EVER had. I ain't shittin'. It's really good. Anderson needs a good breakfast joint downtown that's not the same ole, same ole. That's not speaking bad about the other businesses but Mr. Rivers is refreshing. All that I ask is that the owners hire more help because the poor girls in there were killing themselves to keep up. Nevertheless they did a great job and were working very hard. I can see why this is typically number one here for Breakfast & Brunch! The best service I've seen in Anderson and the food is EXQUISITE. I had the Chocolate Covered Cherry Pancake special, the Island Breeze coffee, and a cup of grits. SO. DANG. GOOD. Husband had the Fried Pork Chop Biscuit, which is his favorite breakfast option. He LOVED it. He's a chef and said he's never had Veggie Gravy this good. One small weird anomaly is that they only offer 4 soda options rather than the typical run of 6 or 8. So if Sierra Mist and brown sodas aren't your thing, but something like Mountain Dew is, you're out of luck. Since we both work in Food & Bev, it was really great to see that the higher-ups here take these reviews seriously and make changes based upon them (i.e. Disinterested servers, and Sake but no Vodka for Bloody Mary's.) I had heard several locals mention this joint and decided to give it a try. Not at all disappointed! We had several in our party and had to share...passed the plates! OMG! Hands down the best breakfast you will experience in Anderson, SC. They have $5 frittatas on Wednesday's although they offer a different frittata selection daily. I'm a vegetarian so I always order the veggie version. They only use fresh from the farm ingredients in their dishes. They have crazy good pancakes that are always indulgent by the way they are prepared: bananas foster style, chocolate and peanut butter, etc. The staff is wonderful and friendly and they always have delicious flavored coffee ready and waiting when you walk through the door. I forgot the name, but think that I had The Farmers Breakfast. It was fine, some fried eggs and sausage. The sausage was dry and definitely needed ketchup for taste. The fried eggs on biscuit were decent, but didn't really stand out. Wanted a Bloody Mary, but they only had them with Sake. I understand trying new things, but there is a reason Bloody Marys have been around forever. If you have Sake, cant you also have a bottle of vodka? I was really looking forward to eating here, but it wasn't very good when I went. I can't remember exactly what it was called on the menu, but I got a chicken biscuit that was absolutely dowsed in gravy. I am not a huge gravy fan, plus I'm pretty sure the description on the menu didn't even say anything about gravy coming on it. My daughter got pancakes that she said were good, but they came with a biscuit that tasted like chemicals. I am from Asheville NC home of Tupelo Honey and Early Girl and Mr Rivers tops them both. Portions are huge and the creamy grits are amazing, as are the pancakes.
