Called and got a call back. Was told they would charge fifty bucks to appear, but they could not give me an estimate because they don't give estimates over the phone. A big swing and a miss. I tried running some scenarios past the dispatcher but she just kept repeating they never give estimates over the phone. I said, so I could pay for your visit fee and you could estimate it would cost five thousand to install my stove--actually giving me no clue, beforehand. Yet I've read other reviews where it says they charge 209 bucks an hour and that at least gives me a clue. Decided they need to better train their staff. My response to your response--stating the obvious; that your dispatchers aren't plumbers does not address the need to be able to give a potential customer a clue as to what they will be charged. I can literally call any service but yours and at least get a clue. Something like, well installing a stove usually takes an hour and we charge two hundred for an hour less the appearance fee would have at least given me a clue. Instead we went elsewhere read more

We called for help because the shower backed up with water. Mr Rooter had just been here in January to clear the pipes. This time we were informed a pipe was crushed. Since they ran a camera last time why wasn't this detected. We had the septic pumped just 2 years ago and there are only 2 of us. They insisted on doing it again so they could work on the pipe. It was $200 to locate the septic even tho I told them where it was. It was $800 to pump the septic, which they did LAST!! When they got done we owed them over $4000. Never again!!! We could have skipped the pumping and I knew where the septic was. There are a number of local companies who can do just as good of job or better for less money. Call one of them!! Toilet was blocked up. The Mr Rooter guy told me he wouldn't try a snake because "it's metal and the toilet is ceramic and I cannot risk breaking the toilet". I've had this problem 2-3 times over the years and a snake always did the trick and the cost was reasonable. Mr Rooter wanted to remove and reinstall the toilet, new wax ring etc. Cost would be $349. I was happy to send him on his way for the $49 "dispatch charge". It seems this is standard practice with this company. It works because they often have the customer over a barrel - plugged toilet and "expert" telling them they need an expensive solution. I needed to have a leak detection service at our property in Parks. I can't say enough about the excellent service we received from Mr. Rooter.. Sometimes it's tough getting subcontractors in this rural area to respond and show up when they say they will. They seem to always want to charge a premium trip charge. This is definitely not the case with Mr. Rooter. From the first phone call, Dustin was kind and gracious of his time, spending 20 minutes on the phone with me talking through our issue. He referred us to a leak detection provider who was FANTASTIC. Mr. Rooter followed up with me yesterday to confirm our appointment again. Today, Ryan from Mr. Rooter was onsite to assist the leak detection process. He was kind and really helpful. Fortunately we didn't have a leak, but there are a couple of recommended improvements that we already knew about - it was great that they picked up on them, too. Confirms they know their stuff. The most impressive thing is that there was NO CHARGE for MR. Rooter to show up and assist. No trip charge, no fee at all. If there had been a problem, they would have been there to understand the magnitude of the issue and would have been able to provide a proposal for work immediately, saving me time. Thank you. we had the problem with our sewer draining. On my day off I started digging to see what I might find. once I got down to the pipe. I found that it had come apart from my septic tank. I knew I would need a larger hole to do the work so after renting a mini excavator It was dug for repair. My wife had call Mr Rooter Plumbing to see if they could repair the break and they had a technician to our home with in a short time. Rich Carter came and was very polite. Mr. Rooter charged a $49 fee to come out and simply provide a quote. Their estimate was $569 to replace a hose bib! . I had it done by another local company for $200 who quoted me the price without having to come out and charge a trip charge. Another local plumbing company also quoted over the phone for replacement of the hose bib and was in a similar price range. I selected Mr Rooter because they could come out the same day, but wow did they charge a bundle! I waited till the next day and save $369. read more

This company is what I received from Angi's list for an emergency water line leak, and the first to respond unfortunately. The first repair did stop the leak, but I was not shown any gauges displaying water pressure, just told what it was and any work would not be under warranty. I paid $1990 for a 50 cent part. Less than a month later the leak was back, and they wanted another $2500 to repair and add a pressure reducing valve. They did say they would repair the work if found to be a result of their previous work, but also tried to convince me the entire line to the home needed to be replaced. I got a second opinion, who found the leak and the 50 cent part from Mr. Rooter defective, had the water pressure reducing valve installed and water line repaired with 2 year warranty by another company for $1100. Wish Angi's list would have referred me to them, Gold Star, in the first place. This company took advantage of the emergency nature of the work. read more

Mr. Rooter came out on June 30th to our home in Uptown (while we were out of town), to repair a broken irrigation line for a pricy $989.00. Their plastic coupling went bad in 10 days. We had our private plumber come out and he replaced the line with a galvanized steel T - for just $125.00. We have filed a small claims case with Coconino County Court suing Mr. Rooter for damages. Our AZ Water Bill was close to $1,800. Mr. Rooter claimed it was an electronic issue. I would NOT recommend using this company. read more

First time I needed any plumbing service removing to the area form California. Kitchen sink wouldn't drain called Mr. Rooter. They said there's a $49 service fee. Adam showed up in about 45 min. I told him there was an outside clean out so he wouldn't need to access from under the sink. He said it would be $349 and couldn't guarantee it, but he had a better way for more money. Around these parts you are hard pressed to get a plumber out within 2 weeks of your request. We moved to the northern az area of camp verde and have had all sorts of issues with plumbers not showing up, booking them 2-4 weeks out and giving insane quotes where they essentially earn about 300-500 an hour and wont do demo or trenching. Fed up with the local offerings we went with Mr. Rooter for a backed up pipe in a 60s original house. The sewer pipes had been hydrojetted after a long period of little to no use to get the system functional and they hydrojetted into our sink drain which used to drain fine. The team of two and often 3 guys worked for 2 days on their job and miraculously they were able to save the pipe and clear it bit by bit. I ended up the winner on the pricing as its a standard price nomatter how long it takes. To have 3 guys converge on my original 1960s bathroom and take good care to respect its fragility (I happen to really like the original bathroom and it works -again- beautifully) while at the same time being creative about p traps and sink drain set up, I was really happy. I got a great deal in the end though it did cost a lot for what could have been a simple job...it turned out to be gruelling and take many many man hours. We purchased the membership as it lowered the costs significantly and return calls for other issues we knew we would have would be waived. 2 months later and we wanted to change out the kitchen faucet which was deteriorated. Tyson came out and got everything done in about 2.5 hours with a trip to ace. Had great advice and they got to us within 24 hours of our call. Nobody around here can do that but them. So...i think they are on the high end of costs...but if you end up with a job that takes longer to figure out...they stick to their quote for the service. You dont pay extra. They are available when nobody else is and they have to maintain a large crew for this convenience. Our neighbors think we are nuts because they know mr. Rooter has a higher cost overall. But for our situation, where simple and easy arent the norm due to the challenges with this houses age and construction, we come out ahead. When you need fast service and you want up front pricing that may feel a little painful...and you want actual warranties and guarantees...I can easily recommend Mr. Rooter. Their crew is respectful, usually early rather than on time and never late. They coordinate with other plumbers on staff for difficult jobs and they can save very old sinks and pipes. I was very impressed with the magical sink drain rescue honestly. My new kitchen faucet is perfectly done and a major improvement. Make sure you provide parts FYI. You will get what you want as they have a limited set of styles and equipment they carry and can warranty and those are not cheap. read more

They are cordial, diligent, and very friendly without ever crossing any possible professional boundaries. I signed up for the their advantage plan, Which has already paid for itself. The company rep came out to do an annual inspection. The water heater wouldn't drain due to mineral buildup. He said he could put in a new water heater that day for $4500. I said OK not knowing what it "should" cost. He reduced the cost by $300. But with a bottle of septic system cleaner and other charges it all came to $4500. He said I needed a pressure relief valve as my local water pressure was 110 psi and that my new water heater should be in the 70psi range. So luckily I called a different plumber to do that. When he arrived I asked what he charged for a 50 gallon AO Smith water heater installed. He quoted me $2100 for the identical water heater installed. I called the company to complain about paying double normal cost. The person I spoke with said they're a franchise and have lots of extra costs and offered to refund me $100. All I can say is "Buyer beware." Don't get stung like I did. read more

The service technician, Jose, performed a whole house plumbing check with a gauge for pressure checks where applicable as well as performing a video inspection of our main sewer drain as part of a routine home/ residential initial routine check up. Drains treated with biodegradable product to minimize clogging of drains. Service plan available. Prices are higher than most, but work has a warranty included with service performed. Here is my message I sent to the owner after he responded with a lie that his company tried to give me a refund. Sir I Was never offered a refund at any point by anyone from your company. Had I been offered a refund I would have taken it because your company clearly did me wrong. It makes no sense at all why you claim I was offered a refund. Why would I refuse a refund? Your employee Dustin is clearly telling you a lie when he says I refused a refund and apparently you are believing it. Just like when your company told me the lie about the price to come out and do my estimate. Just like when your company told me they can't give me the corporate number for me to complain it's just another lie. It's funny I had to call another Mr. Rooter to get that number and they gave it to me fast without any issues. I see a pattern of lies and deception here and what seems like intentional miscommunication to cover up more lies. I am shocked you actually accuse me of refusing a refund, but I think people reading my review will start to see the kind of shady unprofessional company you really run here. Also, just the way you charge a dispatch fee and can't give a price till you get to the door and knock on it is more proof of your deceptive ways and you claim this is honest up front pricing? When I called other plumbers to fix my issue none of them are doing this deceptive pricing like you and they have real up front pricing on the phone and not when they get to the door. Ripped Off! I explained to the dispatcher that I had a mobile home with a leak and that the plumber would have to crawl under the mobile home to inspect the leak prior to quoting. He refused to crawl under the home unless I paid a quote of over $300 just to inspect so he could give me a quote. Flat rate pricing is a rip off. As a retired plumber, I would have fixed the problem myself, except that I am too large to crawl under the mobile home. I am quite sure the fix is simple and would not take over 1 hour to perform. I called Mr. Rooter Plumbing because I was looking for a plumber in our area. They sent Ryan out within the hour. We did not have an emergency which I explained, just a clogged kitchen sink. My husband had already dismantled & checked out the drains so we knew it must be in the cleanout, however we did not have the appropriate tool needed. I would give Ryan 5 stars, he was very professional and took care of the problem in a matter of minutes. The problem we have is the amount we were charged, $316.68 for maybe a half hour's work. I was taken aback at the time, but since he had already brought his equipment in I went ahead. The following day I made the mistake of calling around to a couple of other plumbers and found the fees for this service to be considerably lower than what we were charged. Beware, even though they say there is no additional charges, it seems they've elevated their costs to include them. Now, I feel taken advantage of, especially during this difficult time of the pandemic. When you are on a lowered income because of the current situation these things really matter! I had a water leak and Mr. ROOTER was called out to fix it. Only bc my 1st choice couldn't get here for a week. So i had to get someone out sooner. So far no problems but they did tack on a $150 fee to work in a crawl space which I've never heard of.. I was not happy about that. One iota, but what are you gonna do when you need water to flush your toilets? Next time I will call a local business. They wouldnt let me have the warranty either bcuz they couldn't test my water pressure, even though I told them to. I was not happy about this. So these guys are way overpriced.
