If I had any critique it would be that they were slightly lightly seasoned, but that is just me nitpicking. The mashed potatoes were rich, buttery, and decently seasoned, but felt slightly one dimensional. We were seated quickly in the quaint restaurant. Our server gave a great first impression. She said the haddock chowder was the best in town. There was a piece of fish almost as big as a bar of soap! At the table, we enjoyed the fillet mignon, cooked very well, except for one burnt corner (couldn't figure out what happened there). We also enjoyed some nachos and a very pleasant, simple lobster roll, on a perfectly grilled New England style hot dog roll. Hot buttered was an option too, but a true New Englander would never try one hot. No cocktails tonight, but several neighbors imbibed and they all looked smashing. Also no deserts for us.
