Good Mexican food is hard to find in Meridian, so I was willing to try just about any place. Mr. Taco from the outside is nothing much to look at, but the food is excellent. I found myself comparing other street tacos to Mr. Taco when I traveled, and I still haven't had better tacos al pastor. The more I visited, the more I came to love the casual outdoor dining area and its thrown-together style. The staff at Mr. Taco are friendly and give great service. Stopped on our way through MS on a road trip. The tacos were delicious, we got a second round they were so good(pic is of second round) We tried the steak, chicken and pastor. Mr Taco has excellent Mexican food at an excellent price point! I highly recommend the chorizo and carnitas tacos. This is a no-frills place but the food is excellent and they have a cute area to sit in the back. The staff are really kind and generous, and service is very timely. First visit - The flautas were great, and we liked the California burrito (except the fries inside weren't crisp). The chicken quesadillas were good, if a little soggy after a 20 minute drive home. Probably the best place to eat in Meridian! Super clean and good customer service. I'd come here all the time if I lived nearby. Every single restaurant we have been to so far has been awful in Meridian!! Even chains like Olive Garden and Applebee's. The chicken here is super fresh and the food is amazing! You have to get takeout since there's no tables but who cares! I have starved since I got here and finally I found some real food that won't give me a heart attack!! Definitely recommend this to anyone! It's pretty reasonable to for the portion size! They also let you substitute anything on the menu for whatever you like! Don't let the outside of the building fool you! It was super clean and they were very nice. The carnitas street tacos were amazing. Verde sauce was very fresh. The chicken quesadilla was sooo good. Large chunks of all white meat chicken breast and the cheese they use is creamy and amazing. The chicken flautas were fresh and crispy. Light and prepared when you ordered.
