I had a really positive experience at Mr. Tire on Dobbin Rd in Columbia. I initially brought my car in for two new tires and to have a plastic piece underneath the front fender reattached after snow knocked it loose and it was dragging under my car. From the very beginning, the experience stood out. I called several shops to compare pricing, and Mr. Tire was by far the most responsive and helpful. I really appreciated the upfront pricing and the fact that they were able to get to my car the same day, even though they had to order the specific tires I wanted. When the tires arrived, I had a medical emergency with my son and was not sure I would make my appointment. Kevin was incredibly understanding and let me know the latest I could arrive and still have the work completed that day. I was able to make it in time, and they got everything done while I waited. The waiting area is spacious, and the WiFi is solid, which allowed me to get work done without any inconvenience. They also reattached the plastic piece under the car at no charge, which I really appreciated. There was one small oversight. I had asked for a tire to be plugged or patched, and it was missed during the initial visit. However, they immediately took responsibility for it and repaired it at no charge the very next day. That level of accountability goes a long way with me. Overall, I have zero issues with the customer service I ultimately received. His rude, arrogant demeanor and lack of basic customer service skills are a direct reflection of poor management or lack of accountability at this store. When I came in with a flat tire issue, instead of receiving helpful guidance, Kevin chose to speak down to me with a condescending tone, mocking my situation rather than offering a simple explanation or support. His exact approach was dismissive and disrespectful--clearly not someone who values or respects customers. If Kevin represents how this location treats its paying clients, Mr. Tire headquarters should seriously reconsider whether he's fit to deal with the public at all. This isn't my first visit either. I previously bought four tires here, but even the free tire rotation service--which should be straightforward--took nearly four hours with an appointment. Mr. Tire fraud. I went in for AC inspection and AC recharge. They said my compressor was broken. They still recharged my broken AC system with $280 worth of freon even though the AC system was broken. and charged me $280 and my AC is still broken. The manager refused to refund my money. The corporate office refused to refund my money. I filed a complaint with the Maryland Office of the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau for a refund. I am currently still waiting. I wish I had seen the many complaints they got before I went here. EDITED: Notice the company gave the same generic, auto-response to every customer review, word for word. They do not care about customer service. Steer clear, It's not just one location, it's a company issue. After attempting to get my tire repaired at several automotive shops, it was determined that the tire was irreparable. Out of seven automotive centers both small and large, this shop was the only one able to locate a tire comparable to my vehicle's tires. Though it was not in stock, the manager offered to order the tire with an estimated delivery of that afternoon. Additionally, all of the other vendors either wanted phone payments with a next-day delivery date or did not offer to place an order. Since I came here two days prior for a tire repair but did not stay because they were extremely busy, I almost didn't return. Ironically, they were the only location that could assist. Because of the state of the tire, time was of the essence and they delivered. The tire was ordered around 10:00 am. By 11:30 am, the manager informed me that the tire was available and that I could come in before 5:00 pm. When I arrived a little before noon, I was assisted immediately. No projected completion time was presented. However, within less than an hour, the tire was replaced and I was out the door. I was pleased with this visit. Everything about it was efficient from the phone call to completion. The amount quoted over the phone was the exact with the exception of a minor upsell for tire protection, which appeared to be a wise decision. Based on this experience, I would return. read more

I took my car here last week for service because I ran over the many pot holes in Baltimore **rolling eyes*** and the tire pressure light comes on. The back tire was losing air. I immediately drove here for tire replacement or repair. I got my car back and it sounds and rides differently. I called the store and I was told that they only patched and re-balanced the tires. Im hearing brake noises bad now and those noises were not there before. In fact, I'd just got my car inspection done a few weeks ago in Jan and they said that my brakes were great. I swear it feels like they swapped out my good pads/rotors for bad. All i have to prove it right now is my state inspection stuff, a firestone inspection that I did just a few days ago after hearing and feeling the sounds that my car is making and what this place claim to have done when they had my car. I came in to get oil change and tire rotation. The tires were not rotated as requested. I reminded the technician to have this done and informed him of the location of the wheel lock and he noted it in bold in the work order. I also informed the technician who was working on the car to rotate tire, yet it was not done. They quickly got it done after. I spoke to the manager Chad about this noting that this was the third time this occurred. He said to me, and repeated it 5 times that the technician was new and he will talk to him about it. I needed to purchase new tires for my vehicle and as in the past, decided to go to Tire Rack. They offer you the option to ship to your home or a local tire installer. I checked around and decided to go with Mr. Tire...BIG MISTAKE !!! The first time I called Mr. Tire, Kevin answered the phone. I wasn't greeted with a warm welcome but whatever. I I explained that I was planning to order tires from Tire Rack and wanted to know the price to install and balance the tires. He asked what price did I pay Tire Rack for the tires ? After I told him, he said he could beat Tire Rack's price. He told me he needed to order the tires and it would be a couple of days before they arrived. Based on the price, I agree to go with Mr. Tire. After about 4 days, I contacted Mr. Tire to see if the tires I ordered had been delivered. I spoke with another not so pleasant person name "Moe". He told me the tires were scheduled to arrive tomorrow and that Kevin was off but he would have Kevin call me Friday. Friday morning I got a call from Kevin and told him that I'd be in to have the tires installed. I asked did I need to make an appointment and Kevin said "what for" ? I said because I did not want to come I. And have to wait 4-5 hours to get them installed. He said "you're going to have to wait but it should only take 1 hour". I brought my car in around 2:00pm and dropped it off. I was told it should take 60-90 minutes to complete the job. I told them I'd go for a walk and they said they would call me when my vehicle is ready. About 2 hours later, I got a call from Kevin tell me that while installing my tires, they noticed " I need front and rear brakes and struts all around" I said "just put the tires on please" !!! I arrived about 20 minutes later and noticed my car wasn't finished , so , walked into the shop and Kevin was having a personal phone call. Trying not to be rude and interrupt his phone call, I stood there for a few seconds and Kevin looked up and said..."what do you need" ? I responded...I need my car". He said "I told you I would call you when it was finished" You also told me it would only take 60-90 minutes and it's now been 2 hours. I didn't see my vehicle in the window so I walked around back and saw my car up on the lift with one tire on. I walked back to the lobby and asked Kevin if he told the technician to put my old tires back in the car ? He said "did you ask me to" I said yes, you don't remember ? He said "do you" He went outside to instruct them to put the old tires back in my car. When he came back to the lobby, I said to him " I just had brakes and stunts put on my car 2 months ago, so how can I now need new brakes and struts". I told him..."you have a bad attitude to be working with the public" He responded...what did you say...I said you have bad attitude to be working with the public. As he's asking the question, he's walking towards me. I see him approaching me and get into a martial arts stance. He says "what are you going to do ?" I said...you come any closer, you'll find out" He said , I was coming to talk to you. I replied , I could hear you from behind the counter, you didn't need to approach me. He said "Get out of here" I said...not without my car. He said pay for it and leave. I said, I'll pay once I have my car and inspect it. I got my vehicle and left. I'll never go to this or another "Mr. Tire" again. They are rude, dishonest and unprofessional. I'm sure I'm not the only person they tried to take advantage of. Do not go here! I had my breaks and rotors done in April 2021. I called several days later because it sounded awful and was told it may do that the first couple of weeks. I tried making an appointment to get them looked at and would be told I didn't have an appointment, although I had the paper where they wrote down the time and date. After months of back and forth, I finally got them looked at and was told I needed new calipers and the breaks and rotors would be covered under warranty. I took it for a second opinion somewhere else and was told my calipers were fine. I had the breaks and rotors fine at a different garage. I was told that there is no possible way those rotors were ever changed, let alone less than a year ago. the cost for new rotors and breaks at a different garage were $200 less than Mr. Tire. read more

Came to them cause I thought I had a flat tire, they said my tire pressure sensor needed to be replaced. Had it replaced and they told me the light would go out after driving 30 minutes, It didn't go out after driving for over 2 hours. I called back and whomever answered the phone was very short and rude but told me the same thing. A week later light still on, came in and told them it needed to be programmed because driving 30 minutes didn't work. I did tell him another mechanic looked at it and said it was not programmed correctly. The desk clerk got an attitude (I would say belligerent actually), he took my car to check. I was then told it's another sensor. While I was trying to confirm what to do next the clerk bought my car and handed me the keys, I got the message. First issue, if there were other sensors not working when I bought it in why didn't they find it then. When I said the one they replaced didn't work how convenient it was that another sensor had "gone bad". I had a so-so experience here. I have been needing new tires for a little while but no places were offering any good deals. I gotten a flat before and replaced it with a Cooper tire from Mr. tire because it was near where I caught a flat a few months ago. I caught another flat and figured it was time to finally replace the rest of my tires. So I looked online and saw that this Mr. tire location had the same Cooper tires that I had previously purchased. I only needed three and wanted to get them a matching set for the one that I already had so I scheduled an appointment. When I arrive I was told by the person working the front desk that they did not have any of the Cooper tires in stock but he recommended a Kelly tire that was close but a little bit more expensive. I was riding around on a spare so I figured I might as well get the tires there. So I went ahead and OK the service. He also recommended a alignment. I've haven't not had one done for a while and since I hit a big pothole because the flat I thought I might as well get one while I was here. After leaving my vehicle there I waited a few hours before I got a call that my vehicle was almost done. They also told me that I needed brakes all around and new shocks. I found this a little surprising since I had gone to my car dealership where I normally take my vehicle and they did a full inspection and said that my brakes were OK and did not need to be replaced anytime soon and my shocks were good. After that conversation I decided not to get those repairs done and to take it back to my dealership in order to get that checked out. You know I got the alignment I noticed that my vehicle was not riding as good as it was before the alignment. Overall the tire prices were decent but I would probably not bring my vehicle back here for any other types of service. read more

I proceed because I didn't have time or ability to run around and price compare it was a weekend day and trust me I called around to weigh my options. Either no one could take me or they didn't offer the services I needed and only sold tires. My receipt stated the alignment alone was $129 but came with some sort of warranty or something... that I did not at all ask for nor was notified that I would be paying for. Any alignment I've gotten in the past has NOT been more than $100. Honestly, they've only been from $60-80. $129 for an alignment is RIDICULOUS. Don't go here unless you absolutely have to. Went to this location for 4 new tires, balance, and alignment with a Saturday AM appointment. Told it would take 2 hours, ended up taking 4 hours. Upon completion I checked the tire pressures myself, found a tire was 8 lbs under deflated. Manager had it corrected, but good thing I checked myself. Reason for 1 star is that $80 was taken out of my center console, had a large coin jar in there. Called manager about it and got the expected response of "sorry to hear that" and denying all accountability. I wish I had not assumed the employees were honest and ethical, so I am partly to blame here. If you choose to use this shop be sure to allocate extra (double) the time estimated if they are busy, check tire pressures yourself afterward, and remove anything of value from your vehicle. read more

Sales staff was stellar. I actually left my car there overnight after I hit a curb and blew out my tire on my way to an event. The lady at the counter was so nice and patient when looking at my old, worn out tires and trying to find the size. They were dry rotted, she said! Wowwwww... I guess Jiffy Lube isn't obligated to tell me that because they don't sell tires. She looked them up and within 5 minutes had an estimate for me. Prices were pretty good and I didn't feel like price shopping when I had somewhere to be. I told her I'd think about it and let her know the next day but then decided to go ahead and replace all 4 tires. What I found great about their service is she called me the next day to make sure I wanted it done before they got started. How cool was that? Most places would just do the work and expect payment, especially because I had left in on their lot. Only issue was after I picked up my car, I was pulling out and realized my spare was still sitting on my back, folded down seats. Ummm, that was a problem. So my friend went inside and a rude technician comes out, scowling and muttering about it wasn't on the ticket. Excuse me? Who wants a dirty spare sitting in their car??? My friend and he had a few words and he did what should've been done pretty quickly. I would've rated Mr.Tire 5 stars if it wasn't for that dude's funkiness. My tire blew while driving southbound on I-95. (And I will add here for context that I'm a woman who's completely clueless when it comes to car-related anything). AAA guy came and helped me put on my spare. He took a look at my tires and recommended that I get all 4 replaced immediately, and that I don't attempt to drive all the way home to DC on the spare. So that's how I ended at this Mr Tire. To be honest I wasn't that happy about it because of the abysmal yelp reviews, but the place turned out to be pretty nice. Staff (esp Gena) was friendly and offered me the use of coupons that I didn't know existed. So for 4 tires (that are good for 50,000 miles) + alignment + labor = grand total of $460ish. If my car lasts me another 50,000 miles (heck, even 30,000 miles), this'll be worth it. I also appreciated that Gena explained to me what to look for when inspecting the tread on my wheels. The informative posters in the waiting room I thought were also pretty high yield (though probably common knowledge to everyone but me). read more

I walked in the door, approached the register and spoke directly to one of the staffers: I need the belt for my air conditioning replaced. Before I could finish my thought an older gray haired gentleman w/ ponytail typing on the store computer belted out, "You're not getting that done today!" I ask, when could I have it done and how much does it cost? Response: "My air condition guy isn't here!", he said. Look, perhaps I'm speaking for myself. Perhaps I'm a bit more sensitive than others when spending my hard earned money but, at a minimum, it would be nice to be greeted by a customer friendly manager who would say, "Welcome sir! We would be happy to perform this work but our technician isn't available today. However, I could schedule you for tomorrow or the next day. How's that?" But unfortunately I (walked). Not to mention the fact that my car also needed additional work. In fairness, it is worth noting that the original staffer who waited on me appeared stunned by his cow-worker's speech to me - the customer. Went back today and was met another staffer who was the consummate professional. Again, he shared that he too couldn't get it done (today) but took the time to explain the pricing and arrange a date and time for the work. TIRE AUTO SERVICE CENTERS Store# 757 on Dobbin Center way on December 12, 2020 to get slow leak fixed in one of the tires of my car. I was quoted $50 for the service. Later that day I received a call at around 5:15 PM on that day saying there is some problem with the TPMS system of the tire and they will have to replace it which will cost $167. I had no other option but to say Yes as I needed the car next day. I went to pick up the car at around 5:30 PM and I was told multiple sensors of my car were broken and the TPMS warning will always be up. When I dropped my car off, all these sensors were working just fine. There was nothing wrong with the TPMS sensors in my car. So now after paying $167 I have car with broken parts that were working fine before they worked on it and on top of it, it still has the same leak in the same tire. So basically they fixed nothing and charged me $167 and conned me. On December 14, 2020, I went there and asked them to give me my money back as they have not fixed anything and broke what was working. To which I was ridiculed and given all sorts of explanations and none of which made any sense.
