Greetings. : This letter is being submitted to Both the Store Management Mr. Rick and Mr. Chris as well as being sent to the Owner of the business as well. It is undetermined at this point if Legal council will be retained as I've already consulted Legal and am seriously considering legal action, The goal of this letter is to b ring to attention not only to management but the employees / Mechanics as well as the Owners, if plural, situations that have taken place that are largely considered as Irresponsible, Negligent, and VERY Unprofessional, and describing a situations of deemed extreme negligence and incompetence. Or Misfeasance and Malfeasance. My intention is largely to inform management as well as owners that the business is a business and should be performed as a business that is providing a Serious and professional service functions. YOURE DEALING WITH PEOPLES LIVES HERE. Its obvious that this is NOT the main agenda, but rather making a profit. If this is so, then One can ponder just by watching the activities in the shop and clearly see less than serious employees with professional attitude and work ethics, that the time spent at Mr. Tire might be getting something accomplished on their vehicle that is NOT taken seriously by the Staff at Mr. Tire. My first, I believe interaction with them was 07 July at 0730 hrs to balance and install a set of tires. That went pretty well. I've had a total of 7 dealings with them since 07 July 2023 Each time I considered them at once my main stop for vehicle maintenance. But due to the last two situations noted after interaction with my vehicle, I will NOT consider taking ANY of my vehicles there again and I STRONGLY urbe EVERYONE seriously consider this upon gaining this information. To the blunt of the issue, I had spoke wit h Chris the manager with Rick right there and made an agreement that I would bring in new shocks for this vehicle and new upper and lower ball joints to be installed and he Mr Chris and I had agreed upon a total figure for labor, scheduled an appointment for 10 July 2023 at 0730 hrs. on 10 July 2023 I had kept my appointment with Mr. Tire to install both front shock absorbers and both rear shocks on the truck, I also made arrangements to have both upper and lower ball joints to be removed and replaced with the supplied OEM parts for this vehicle. I had acquired the OEM parts for this application I had believed brought them in to have installed and was called approx 6 hrs later to come pick up vehicle. During the process of delivering vehicle to me I was informed that the shop technician installed the two front shocks but not the rear shocks because the shocks for the rear were not for that application. I was informed that t he ball joints went in well and all is good, for me to acquire the right shocks and theyed install as per agreement. I had gotten into a hornets nest with the shocks, but simply acquired new shocks for the truck both front and rear OEM from Mopar dealership, took them to another mechanic and had the front shocks the mechanic from Mr. Tire installed that were clearly not the proper part for this application removed and new shocks installed as well as rear shocks. BUT during this process, upon lifting the hood to access the front shock removal and installation, We noticed that a "Snap On Green and black LED Light " was discovered laying or sitting on the top of the engine, and it was clear it had been sittint there for a while due to the scuff marks on engine components that clearly shows wear. When the shocks that were installed on the front of the vehicle by Mr. Tires mechanic I ran the numbers and discocovered thes part number was in fact for my vehicle but for my vehicle with a 4" suspension lift and there is none on this vehicle. These shocks were installed without checking the part number because it was CLEARLY OBVIOUS to anyone with the IQ of 3 or above these were NOT for this application. But the mechanic installed the front anyway, without running the part numbers to discover they were a no go for this application. He installed them anyway without checking and there fore risking the safety of the occupants in the vehicle. Not only would that be a professional thing to do but a responsible thing as well. But by installing the shocks that voided the warranty on the shocks hence cant return them due to be wrong item, which means I got to eat the cost of them, both sets. This is where it gets interesting. When scheduling the appointment with Mr. Chris the manager at Mr.Tire He cautioned me regaring the front wheel bearing assys seem to go bad after ball joint installations. I had advised Mr. Chris that I had new front hubs with front wheel bearings installed by Dealer in March of 2024. I have received superb service from this establishment. Chris and Ricky have been more than helpful and upfront. I have been going through a difficult time with Carvana and repairs on a vehicle that I haven't been able to drive a full month. I am a single woman and their honesty has been much appreciate. Some people would take advantage of this situation to make an additional dollar, but they have steered me correctly in the repair process. I recommend them highly. I have been to Mr. Tire here in New Bern three times now. They have saved me a lot of money that other shops wanted for the repairs I "needed". NOW, when I have a problem with the car, I go straight to them. It is like asking a family member for advice. They are in it for the long run, not the short profit. You will not waste money on unneeded repairs. They must trust that their honesty will pay out in the long run, because they will tell you what is best for you and your car, not their wallet. We had 2 visits to this place, and unfortunately the 2nd one soured us. My wife had an engine problem a couple of days after a different place replaced a bunch of plugs and valves on it, and this place was one of the only places open on the weekend, so we called them up. Took it by, the next day they had looked at it and determined the issue, and had it fixed the day after, fantastic. My wife tells me a week later that the next day it acted up again in the same manner, which is not their fault. So I called, dropped it off over the weekend again, with the implication I was given being they would look at it the next day. Monday, nothing. I call tuesday, just checking in, didn't know if you guys had a chance to check yet or not, they say no, they're waiting on their boss to come take it for a drive. Okay that's fine, I'm thinking maybe next day, I understand places are busy. Wednesday, nothing, my wife calls, mechanics are out. Sure, everyone needs days off. Thursday, nothing. Friday, my wife calls again, now they tell us it won't be until next tuesday when they can look at it, so unfortunately we had to take the car back and move it elsewhere. The crux of my complaint is not that they couldn't look at it, because I understand that we brought it in unannounced. It's that I was led to believe it would be within the next few days, and now we're looking at 9 days just for a diagnostic alone, that's not even counting any potential repairs? I just wish they had been up front from the start and said "We can look at your car but honestly we do not know when, we are backed up on work." I would have totally understood and respected that, especially given that it was not their fault that the car wasn't brought back immediately like it should have been. But I just feel I was given the run around because they didn't want to tell me that. I am giving an average score because they were legitimately quick the first time around, but points off for it not fixing the problem (we paid 1k for a catalytic converter part, which to us is a lot of money), and for implying that it would be a quick second look and it not being that at all. As a plus, the people we dealt with were nice and understanding in our interactions, but just be up front with people if it's gonna be a while. We would have taken it somewhere else anyway if we had been told that, but at least it would've done right by us. read more

Have taken my cars to Mr. Tire in New Bern before it was Mr. Tire however will no longer spend any $$ there. A hub was broken on my F-150 and was assured it would be replaced. After a year of asking and being strung along, was told it would not be replaced. It was a $32 part. Complained to corporate however it's apparent the lack of customer service starts at the top and finds it's way to the rank and file. Needless to say we will no longer take our cars for service to the Mr. Tire in New Bern. read more

My 82 year old mother went to Mr Tire for her state inspection. They told her she needed 4 new tires URGENTLY. When she wanted to leave, they told her it would be unsafe for her to drive on the tires. She called me upset because they wouldn't allow her to leave, citing her unsafe tires. I told her to just get in the car and drive away. She did and went straight to a mechanic who told her the tires were good for several thousand miles more. She drives very little but didn't replace the tires for nine months and even then it wasn't "urgent". It's disgraceful and disgusting to pressure and take advantage of the elderly! I had a flat tire and could not get off work. My girlfriend came by to get the tire and took it to Mr. Tire. Because she was a woman and seemed not to know much about tires, they tried to tell her that it was a specialty tire and it cost 200 dollars. I have bought the exact same tire for years for around 120-140. She went a mile or so down the road to black's tire and they sold her a tire for 130 and were extremely helpful. Stay away from Mr. Tire. They are crooks and have terrible customer service. read more

I wish there were a way to give less than one star! I won't even address the unprofessionalism and inexperience witnessed in the garage area. My concern is the lack of professionalism in the front office. My daughters car was taken there to get an oil change and she had called gotten a price and use the coupon and was told how much it was going to be. Six hours after her appointment time, there was still a 45 minute wait! After the oil change the price was $30 more than what was quoted. She was unhappy but paid the bill. After she left she went on Mr. tire's Facebook page and left a review. A short time later on their Facebook page my daughter found her personal information including her full name address vehicle tag number and cell phone number, all posted by the "" manager" Andi Taylor ( Anderson Barnett). There are multiple phone calls made asking her to remove the information from Facebook, as well as multiple request with in the post to remove it. She flat out refused, after new Bern Police Department was called and paid a visit to the Mr. tire store and then discussing this issue in the lobby, in front of customers, Ms Taylor (Barnett) was told that she could be charged with cyber bullying. the information was then removed from the Facebook post. My experience with this store and Andi Taylor ( Anderson Barnett) are far less than professional! I personally would never visit this store or any other that Andi is an employee of. This is my first visit to Mr. Tire and honestly very disappointing. They obviously do not know how to work on BMWs. They should just admit that instead of trying and ruining other parts. During the alignment, they screwed up some parts and they have the guts to tell me that the part broke while making the adjustment and in the end charged m,e for the labor. I brought a tire there to get a nail patched up around 3:30 and they said it would be done by 5:00, luckily we didn't need it by then so I called and asked if he could have it ready by the next morning, so the next morning I call around 1030 and the work still hasn't been done. read more

Do not go to this body shop as they are running deceptive business. Customer service and service was as bad as it could be.

The service there was fast and friendly. Unlike most places that try to convince you that you have more things wrong with your car than you actually do, they focus on being thorough with their work. I went there for a leaking tire and was worried that because they are a tire place that they would convince me I need all new tires (and I know that I don't). I was surprised that they actually fixed the tire and did not try to make additional sales by pushing new tires on me (which has been my experience at many other places). We went in 30 minutes before closing because our tire was flat. We knew the store was almost closing at 7pm, but we rushed in as soon as we could after work. We had bought a warranty with our new car that covered our tires (road hazards), and the service manager, Rick, was absolutely wonderful! He spent a lot of time on the phone with the warranty company, which very obviously tried to lowball how much they wanted to pay (i.e. they wanted to put the lowest quality tire on the car). Rick dealt with the company very professionally and fought for to get a comparable tire to the one we had on the vehicle. We left the shop at 7:10pm, only ten minutes after closing with a good quality new tire, and without having to pay a penny! Thank you, Rick! read more

Well first of all the employees love to talk crap about the customers, which you can hear right through the glass. I made an appointment for an oil change for 4:30 and arrived at 4. They said they wouldn't be able to get to it until 4:30, but it wouldn't take long. They didn't lift my car and start working on it until 5:45, never letting me know anything. 2 employees had gone home for the night while waiting and only 1 lube guy is here. As he lifts my car he yells "f***ing Christ," when he walks under it, again not telling me anything. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but if you have vehicles waiting, why are you sending workers home??? This is ridiculous. I won't be coming back here again. This isn't my first time here either. I'm still waiting on my car to be finished and it's after 6. The woman behind the desk walked out to the work area and said that some ppl must not have ever gone through anything in their life. Uh well I have, thanks but no thanks. Buyers Beware!!!! About a week ago, I noticed that my car kept saying that my tire pressure was low. Now my vehicle always says this when the temperatures change drastically. So I usually just fill it with air and keep going. However, two days later it said my tire pressure was low again. So I checked my tires out and found a nail. The next day, I took it to Mr. Tire in New Bern. I asked them to plug or patch the tire. They said they would check it out and if they could fix it then it would cost $30. I said that was fine. I showed Andy (who I assume is the manager) where the nail was. After waiting about an hour, they put my car on the lift. I watched the mechanic the entire time. He sprayed the tire and I thought it was strange because he was looking over the tire but never where I showed them where the nail was. I figured he was just looking it over. He then walked away for a few minutes. After that he came in the shop and told Andy that the nail was in my sidewall and I would need a new tire. For the record, my tires are four months old. And they are top of the line Michelin tires. So I'm not a genius at cars, but I knew enough to know that the nail was not in the sidewall. Furthermore, I work with a bunch of aircraft mechanics who told me it would just need a patch or plug. Andy then continues to wait on the customer she was helping. After they leave, she calls me up and says my tire will need to be replaced. I told her to have it filled with air and I would check back later. They kindly did and I went on my way. I then took my car to Honda in New Bern the next day. They plugged my tire in less than two minutes flat, filled it with air, and charged me nothing because I'm such a frequent customer. Now I understand I showed up at Mr. Tire at 5:30 and they close at 7. But that shouldn't matter. I was willing to pay $30 to have it fixed. From now on, I will tell anyone with ears to avoid Mr. Tire!!! They clearly lie and overcharge customers. So please do yourself a favor, educate yourself and listen to your gut.
