I've had new tires installed in the past. Currently I go for frequent oil changes. Service is consistently good, decent wait time, courteous employees. They don't try to upscale you on service. Jiffy Lube is notorious for this...they tenaciously doggedly try to up-sale on work you might not need...they take you out to the bay like cattle and read from the computer screen things you might not need then your cramped inside a tiny wait room like sardines ...then there's different people working there each time you go. I stopped going there for these reasons. The shop guys at Mr Tire in the Symrna location are not like that. Same guys each time. If they see something that needs attention or replacement they inform you, then you make the decision to get it done without pressure. Show wait room is usually quiet. I look forward going there each time and catch up with reading or just pausing a little from a busy schedule. Keep up the good work guys. You have my business. October 19, 2017 I've attempted a few times to get a Basic oil change and tire rotation. No problems in the past with walking in and waiting. As of lately the last 3 attempts I was told I needed an appointment 3-5 days out. Say what? So I've been doing it my self except for the tire rotation. They tighten the lug nut too much were as I cannot loosen them. I was going out of town so wanted to rotate the tires myself. Called them to see if they could loosen them. They said I needed an appt. say what? I show up and begged them to just loosen them and I'd take it from there. They would not do it unless I had an appointment. Now how long would it have taken to loosen the nut lugs using their air gun? Rode up the street and a lesser known tire place loosen them for me for $10. I took my vehicle to Mr. TIRE to replace spark plugs and the ignition coil because my engine light came on and the diagnostic said one of the pistons was misfiring. When they removed the spark plug, they found oil in the well. So they determined that the leak was caused by a bad gasket. They replaced the gasket, spark plugs, and did an oil change. That cost me $2300. They next day, I noticed a bigger oil leak and the smell of burning oil. I took my car back in and after investing, Mr. Tire determined that the turbo line was leaking. They said they did not have the ability to order the part or complete the work and recommended I take my vehicle to the dealership. So, now my vehile is leaking and burning oil worse than before I brought it in originally. (The excessive oil leak and smell of burning oil was not happening before the original visit). Now, I can not drive my vehicle due to the danger of the oil line feed spraying oil and causing an engine fire. After spending $2300, my car is worse off than when I had it serviced. read more

I got new tires for my mustang today 10/25. Not only was the price WAY more expensive than quoted. $977 and got charged $1,221.57 They left my rims and new tires covered in stuff. My rims are damaged and scratched. When I went back in the guy told me it was "curb rash" but I've NEVER hit a single curb in this car, and there's no way possible I could hit the inner lip of my rim on a curb. I even spoke with someone who is a mechanic/tire technician who said that it was from the tire machine. The thing that upsets me is I would be more than understanding if they came to be and would've been honest about the damage instead of trying to blame me. I'm waiting for a call from their DM to discuss. I would NOT recommend this place. And would give ZERO STARS. read more

Avoid this place like the plague. I took my car in for repairs to the right front tire after my daughter ran up on the curb. I went there because they were one of the only places in the area that had the tires I needed. Once I received my new rim, I took the car in. Paid for tire installation and a front end alignment. My wife picked the car up once it was done. I took the car out for a test drive, and found it they didn't do the alignment. I returned to the store, he gave me some dumb ass excuse why it wasn't done, and said it would be a week before he can get to it. Once I asked for a refund he somehow found appointment to get done sooner. Now something still isn't right with the car, it making some kind of noise on the same side. Sound like tire is out of balance or the alignment is still off. They also replaced the TPS, now the light want go off, and he same person is telling me to check back in a week, because he don't have the equipment to check it. WHAT A JOKE THIS PLACE IS. How ironic, AFTER I had work done, I'm now hearing how bad they are. read more

These guys are crooks! I got an appointment to have an oil change and a tire rotation. Granted the tires are worn and uneven but they're making it sound like it was life and death if I did not get new tires that day. I looked at them and there's certainly still some life in the tires they were not worn flat. But the part that was the worst is they said I needed new brakes and rotors and that the brakes are practically metal on metal. I have not had any problems with the brakes so I was surprised to hear that. This is a car I just bought eight months ago so I don't know the last time the brakes were done. But they were quoting me a couple thousand dollars for all that. I went to them because I was down on vacation in Delaware but I live in Upstate New York and actually use Monro Muffler which is a sister company of theirs all the time. I went to my mechanic and he said there's absolutely nothing wrong with the brakes and they're just fine. This is because I am a woman I am sure. I was warned that they would try to upsell, but to lie to me and say that the brakes were dangerous and could go out at any time and it was practically metal on metal to get a $2,000 sale is more than an upsell. I don't know if they try to cheat men the same way as women, but avoid this place!!! If they lie to one customer about one thing they will lie to anyone about anything!! read more

I called and asked if they had an opening to balance my tires today. The fella I spoke with was attentive and able to fit me in. Its a small thing but i was appreciative that I could hear him when i called. I have hearing loss and sometimes shoos have a very faint voice when they answer the phone. The store is clean and had ample seating for sit and wait customers. The bathroom was also very clean and well stocked. The shop did a great job balancing my tires and the cost was comparable to other local shops. They didnt change my seat settings and left my vehicle as clean as when i got out of it. im happy to see them back after the tornado wrecked their shop a couple years ago. This shop has always been a favorite of mine for none dealer services. read more

That place is awful! If you gonna go there please have a man that knows about cars cause there's people will take so much advantage of you! I went you get my car looked at for a noise and all they did was change my oil. They didn't even address the noise and when I asked they told me it would cost to tear out my dash so they could know and that would be an additional $100 I had to go to another shot shop they could examine my car in front me. read more

Smyrna Delaware. Beautiful new facility. Service writer and store manager, very nice. Price was reasonable. But something didn't feel right. Received an oil change. Made sure I stood outside the bay to observe the work. I had doubts about this job. The young man with the long hair didn't seem right. Fairly obvious he has no clue. Back to him in a minute. The other mechanic, very personable and polite did the work and that went OK. The young long haired man was unsteady pulling the car into the bay. When my car was done the young long hair guy came and informed me the antifreeze was low. I asked "how do you know?" He said there was nothing in the tank. I asked how is it low? He said it leaked out. I asked where? He didn't know. I then told him he was looking at the coolant expansion tank and that's not an indicator of missing antifreeze. He walked away baffled. Being I or anyone would see leaking coolant or an engine running hotter than normal his claim would have merit. Possibly an upsell to the unknowing customer. This kid should not be working on any vehicle unsupervised. My 2nd time there and had to wipe grease off my hood, fenders, and arm rest after I told him to not get my car greasy. He may be a little slow upstairs and not sure this is the best industry for him. I'll go elsewhere next time. Places like Mr. Tire, Firestone, probably can't hire knowledgeable mechanics and may be just another Pep Boys facility employing service technicians with no realistic requirements to do automotive work. Another indicator would be nobody in the waiting room both times I went there waiting on work to be done while other places have no fewer than 6 customers in their room. I can only assume auto mechanics with skill are not working in chain garages like this one or anywhere else given today's economic situation. Be leary and ask the right questions. It could cost you some big bucks for a misdiagnosed car. read more

In my travels from VIrginia to Delaware I hit a pot hole and got a flat on my front right tire at 8:30 pm on I-95. I called AAA and all the tire repair shops were closed or closing by the time the tow truck would arrive. I got my car towed to Mr Tire. Mr Tire was closed so I left my car over night and arrived the next day at 7:35. I was greeted right away by Stuart, the manager. My car was taken back and I was advised I would need to replace 4 tires. I got 4 new tires cause I have all wheel drive. I also needed a wheel alignment. The shop is clean and they have magazines for all reading types. Updated review regarding Upcharging for tire warranty services I did not agree to: I had my car towed by AAA on 3/23/18 from Marylany to Mr Tire (Smyrna, DE) after hours to have a tire replaced on Saturday morning(3/24/18). I arrived at 7:40 and was greeted by Stuart. I explained I was driving from MD to Smyrna and got a flat tire on my Mercedes. I have run flat tires. Stuart advised they do not have run flats but they have a good tire that was approimately $200. each. I have 4 wheel drive so Stuart advised I needed to replace all my tires. I told Stuart I had a time contraint and as long as I would be out by 10 to move forward with replacing 4 tires. He ran a analysis for a wheel alignment and showed me the results that indicated I needed a wheel alignment. I agreed. I requested the tire and wheel alignment discount codes on line and Stuart advised he would take care of me. Little did I know he would apply the discounts and upcharge me for the tire warranty for 4 tires which we never discussed or reviewed on the bill. I was in a rush and a women and Stuart took advantage of me. I didn't realize until my friend reviewed the receipt. The warranty is 20% of the value of the tire and I would not agrred to pay for it since the bill was $990 and I was trying to save as much money as possible. I also want to mention that I was so happy to get out on time that I offered and paid for lunch for the staff since I was able to make my appointment on time. I did not think that the great customer service they provided was a front for the upcharging of a tire warranty. Beware if you drive a nice care and a women alone seeking services. They will take advantage of you beacuse we are not aware of the tire industry. I will never go to the Smryna Delaware Mr tire again. I will return to the Mr Tire in Canden, Delaware where the service is top notch. I also felt pressured by Stuart to do a review of the service prior to leaving. read more

Awful Go somewhere else. Spent over $450 for install of new tires ordered from Tire Rack, alignment and road force balanced. Car pulls to left or right and feels wobbly over turns. Took back to have checked and they made excuses and didn't even check to see what the actual issue might be. Just readjusted the alignment and nothing else. read more

Went in there to get a simple oil change on a 1998 dodge durango and yes they showed me what other things that were wrong with they said "Your truck will break in 2 days" after 2 hours later of waiting on a oil change i started to wonder what they're doing cause i told them clearly only wanted a oil change.*but they kept bring up the fact my truck will be broke in 2 days i kept saying okay cause ive been driving it for awhile now and its really not a bad truck it only needed a oil change . but when i received my truck there was no oil on the dipstick so i wondered i waited here for 2 hours and they didn't do anything to my truck and YES I guess my truck woulda been broke in 2 days cause they didnt put oil in it wow when i go to ask for a refund of half the money back they denied me my money back i was so mad i just said okay and walked out best thing i coulda done wish there was a place i could go if i felt like i was scammed read more

I returned my vehicle to mr tire in Smyrna today to get the free windshield wipers from the coupon i received online on their site.I had taken my vehicle in on Sunday for oil change ,tire rotation and wipers all free with the coupons. They didn't have the wipers then and was told to come tonight for them. I was told that the wipers for my vehicle would not be free but an additional 11 dollars. Not sure why they give coupons when every time I try to use them there is a catch. Plus the customer service in the store was awful, and when I called the customer service number they said they would call the store and then call me back. I received no call. Mr tire is a good service center for tires and such. I ordered tires for my BMW and they had a difficult time arriving at shop because of holidays and shipping delays. The management were very helpful and kept me updated on arrival. The installation went very well and the prices were just as good. I would have given a five star if not for delay but has no bearing on service which was excellent. read more
