I am from District Heights Maryland coming through on a road trip with a Tesla that I rented. While I was driving I heard a noise coming my from left tire. Once I pulled over and looked at the tire I realized my tire was stripping. We road Off the highway down Airport Blvd and seen a Tesla in front of Mr. Tire, which lead us to believe they can help. We wasn't wrong, once we went inside we was greeted with warmth and positivity. Calib owns the Tesla that attracted us to the store and he was so knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to help us get back on the road to Miami Florida. He saved our trip and took so much stress off. He even offered to take us to get something to eat, words can not express how thankful I am for Calib. The Tesla I was driving was a rental. Caleb even spoke to the owner and worked things out for us. He gave the Tesla owner detailed information on the Tire issues, so much that the owner trusted him right away. Also as I waited for my car to be fixed I noticed that everyone that came in seemed like family. Caleb is the Owner and Operator who is mortally Intact, trust worthy and fare. I highly recommend this shop. If I lived near this MrTire location. I wouldn't go any place else. I had a bad experience with a Mr.Tire in another state in the past and I will say that Calib has redeemed the name and rep. of Mr. Tire. I will also say that the gentleman working with Caleb was welcoming as well, great atmosphere. Basically for a person as myself on a road trip with a car issue, far away from home, worried. Trash service. I had a 9:30am appointment for an inspection for registration renewal. They tell me I have to wait 20 minutes WITH AN APPOINTMENT! 30 minutes later they tell me I need wiper blades. THEY CHARGE ME $60 FOR A PAIR. I can go get rainX for $36. I say something and the guy rudely tells me I have 2 options: 1 get charged for a submitted failed inspection and go buy some and put them on and get recharged by them for a passed inspection, or pay them plus $3 a piece to install. Lashika was at least kind and gave a small discount after showing her a comparable price. The dude was on a power trip with his tone. By now they have got me and it's not worth leaving. It then takes them 30 minutes to install 2 wiper blades that I did myself in 30 seconds per wiper. $3 for 30 seconds of pressing a button and snapping a new one in. I am there an hour for a preset appointment that they are late for, for an inspection only and 2 people sitting in the waiting area. Rude, manipulative, and setting traps for people they think don't know cars. I've done a full motor rebuild in my shop, I know my stuff. I just needed an official inspection done. They are ripping people off with a sorry attitude. read more

If I could give less than 1 star,I would!!!! Took my vehicle to get my ac repaired, it worked for an week, and started back blowing hot air. They kept my vehicle for 2.5 days,mind you. I took it back, they kept it for another 2.5 days, still not fixed. Claimed the rubber seal around my vent door actuator was melted to the vent door, causing it not to open, and close like it should, but it was nothing that they had done. Mind you, nothing was sticking or anything else, until they called themselves fixing my air. Needless to say,I'm out of over $1500,still with no air,and no help from them. Spent over $700 for a new compressor for it to go out a year and one month later. One month past the warranty and no explanation could be given to me why this would happen, if a new or remanufactured part was used, etc. It's ridiculous to have to buy a new one almost a year later. I was traveling from New Hampshire to Florida and had a screw in my tire and the tire sensor light went on. I was just outside of Wilson NC. and called a few tire companies and they all said they could fix me up but it would be 2 or 3 hours before they could get me in to there shop. So I called Mr Tire Auto Service Center shop #342 at 2124 Wilson Hills Road West in Wilson N.C. I explained my situation and they said even though they were very busy that they would get me right in and they did. Within one half an hour upon my arrival I was in and out with my tire problem taken care of. The were very friendly, courteous and professional. WOW! I love Mr Tire Auto Service. I cannot say enough great things about this location! I was driving from Virginia Beach to Miami when my air conditioning stopped working. I was of course very hot and overwhelmed. I called Mr Tire Auto and the owner said he could definitely get me in same day. I stopped and all the technicians were so kind and reassuring. Within two hours, they had my air conditioning all fixed. I only paid $150! It's so refreshed to find a car repair shop with excellent customer service, amazing prices, and the ability to repair things efficiently and effectively. I will definitely be returning. read more

There are precious few businesses I'd rate as 5 stars. I wanted to rate the Mr. Tire location on Airport Blvd. at least 4.5 stars. I have brought my vehicle and my lady's vehicle into this Mr. Tire location on several occasions. I have never done business with a better auto repair facility. They are reasonably priced and I have NEVER been strong armed into having unneeded work done. The employees (especially the manager I apologize for not recalling his name) are exceptional. They do the work requested and there, are in my experience, precious few auto repair businesses that don't try to "pressure you into expensive, vague repairs." John the service manager was awesome. One of the speed sensors on my charger was going haywire sending wrong info to the transmission. Left me stranded over night in Wilson. I showed up to Mr Tire the next morning and he got me a good price on the part and labor getting it done on a Sunday with no appointment for $115 out the door and on the road. I went here to get my tire patched and they said the nail was very long and they can't patch it and I need a new tire. I said no. I took it to my regular shop and they took the nail out the tire and showed me, and it was short! And my regular shop said it was no reason they couldn't have patched it for me. Only reason I went to Mr. Tire is because my regular shop wasn't open on Sunday. Mr. Tire should be ashamed of trying to get over on people!! read more

I was on my way back home from vacation, on a Sunday, and my van started shaking. My husband could not figure out what was wrong. I called Mr. Tire and, although they were booked solid, they agreed to look at my van to see what was wrong. Couldn't be more grateful of these amazing people at Mr. Tire. I've been driving since 6pm yesterday from Florida on our way back home in Maryland when my tire goes flat, I pulled out to the nearest exit, put my temporary tire on and headed to the nearest tire place... The lady that tended to me was friendly from the start and noticed that my wife and I were taking turns being outside in 23 degrees with our puppy, she called us inside and told us that our fur baby was welcome inside as we waited for our car to get serviced. It turned out my rim was slightly bent and air came out my tire. Nothing was severely wrong and they were kind enough to put my tire back in place and dug through my luggage to put my spare back in my trunk at no charge! Amazing people. I went in for an alignment at Mr. Tire on Airport Blvd in Wilson NC on 5/6/19. It was about 6pm but didn't get this man name. It was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. First thing he asked was why did I need the alignment. I went on to say I had a rack pinion and a wheel bearing hub put on. He asked who done the work and I answered. He then said they should not be doing work if they don't do an alignment. I did not respond to ignorance because there is a lot of places that sell tires but they do no do alignments first and foremost. He then told me that it will be about 6:30 before we can get to it. I said ok I do not have any other choice. I went outside and sat on bench and waited. Mechanic came and got my car about 6:47 and 5 minutes later he came back and said we were not able to perform the alignment because some pin was broke and I wouldn't be satisfied with the service. I thought they closed at 8pm but they closed at 7. Now it sounds like to me they were ready to go home and both appear to have attitudes and see color because the mechanic walked by and did not even speak after being spoken to . Then the mechanic said that if I go the other Mr. Tire on Forest Hills road at 8 in the morning they will do it. I have gone there when they were meinekee muffler and had them to put a fuel pump on and they didn't do that right and had problems after that. I sure hope nothing happens to my vehicle while driving on mail route. I don't think I'll be going there either because they may have same mechanic and just changed name. And yes I went to other shops before coming here because I felt like they catered to certain people. It turns out that I was right. This is the main reason why I do not go to some of these shops because you can see that some see color and wouldn't be surprise if we were charged a different fee from white people. I feel that if you have that much hate in your heart then you do not need to be sitting behind a desk and dealing with the public. Just thought I throw that out there. Especially if you call yourself a Christian. Last I checked our blood is the same color and the money is too! Don't forget the scripture, "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you." I called Mr Tire on the way home from a trip on Saturday b/c my TPMS light was on, made an appointment to bring it in on Monday. I needed the light checked, an inspection, oil change and general check up. I made arrangement for someone to pick me up and take me to work, etc. When I get to Mr Tire and go over things to be done the guy tells me they can do everyting but the inspection, he says "We don't have anyone that can do it today." Why didn't he tell me this when I made the appointment? I reschedule for Tuesday, made arrangements again for transporation to and from work. I take a 30 minute break at 4:00 to go get the car (I left it with them at 9:30). I ask the guy if the TPMS light had been checked, he said yes. I asked if they put a new headlight in when they inspected it. I did forget to tell them about the headlight but don't you think they would have noticed one of the headlights was not working when it was inspected.I thought headlights had to be working properly to pass inspection. I ask if they could put one in but I needed to be back at work at 4:30. Someone else came in behind me and I never got a headlight before time to go back to work. Now I wonder if they inspected my car at all, much less changed the oil, or reset the TPMS light, and checked anything else. The one good think, he did forget to charge me for the inspection but did they do one anyway????? read more

As an individual who knows something about vehicles and has taken his vehicle to this location before, it's disappointing this business tried to take advantage of me simply because I'm a college student. After bringing in my truck for brake work due to a metal on metal noise and feeling when I would hit the brake pedal the manager who was working when I had my oil changed was working again. After inspecting the brakes he informed me my right back brake caliper was locked up and in doing so it wore through my rotor and brake pads and that it would cost me $199 for new pads, $109 for a new rotor and lastly $100 for a new caliper. However, I have had to do similar repairs in the past and had the same parts saved on my advance auto account, as such I new parts should cost $130 maybe $150 at the most. The manager then had nerve to tell me he was saving me $100 by only charging $7.99 for a brake fluid drain (which I did not need) after which I realized the shop had nearly doubled the cost of parts for this repair and then labor. The invoice I was given listed the total price as $378.94 despite some $100 discount. After taking the vehicle home where I had the tools to do my own repairs with some assistance from my uncle we realized the caliper did not need replacing at all and that the manager of Mr. Tire simply wanted to do this so he could perhaps convince to allow him to do the full repair. I understand profit must be made but I am very disappointed that this individual and business would try to screw me out of $200 dollars in unnecessary parts and repairs. I will be informing the rest of my friends and family of this in hopes they are not swindled by this business. read more

Mr. Tire Auto Service Centers - Auto Repair Near Me - Wilson, North Carolina

This business ruined my car. They may be good for tires, but do not use them for major repairs. After I blew a timing belt on the highway, this was the only shop that my insurance would tow to. I had the repair done there against my better judgment. The new belt was not appropriately adjusted, and the engine was out of time thereafter. Before even leaving the lot, I noticed a rough idle, and told a manager. I was told the belt would break in, and to give it time (this is not true of timing belts). After two weeks, I returned to a Mr. Tire location closer to home, where I was told that to look at the timing would cost $1000, nearly the bill for the original repair and bringing the total cost above the value of the car. I offered to return to the shop where the work was done, but got the same answer. I called and returned to Mr. Tire locations (both this one and others nearer my home) several times over the subsequent months, as more issues piled up, with qualified mechanics (not tire shops) assuring me that they were due to the engine being out of time, and only Mr. Tire saying otherwise. I now have problems with power steering, power to electrical systems (i.e., the headlights pulse and flicker), the catalytic converter, idle speed (causing frequent stalls), and likely to internal components of the engine, all attributable to driving it while it was out of time. The car runs, but is essentially totaled, with no resale value and questionable safety. Mr. Tire has stuck with the line that any damage to my engine was caused by the original timing belt break (which should not be the case with a non-interference engine), not their faulty repair job and refused to look at it to check whether that is the case. Although the work should have been warrantied, they would not honor that warranty to re-adjust the timing, even on the very day that the repair was finished. I have since moved out of North Carolina and given up on getting any recourse with Mr. Tire. I do not like to publicly shame a business, but I feel that this is the only option open to me any more. read more

Never going back to them again. Go for an inspection they get almost done and tell me my wiper blades are wore out and can't pass inspection. But if i buy some from them... So when i denied to buy some from them i still had to pay 23.75 for the part of the inspection that was done even though it failed.. And they would complete the rest for 6.25 if i got my wipers fixed. So basically i would have to go back to them or pay someone else another 30 dollars. I didn't like the girl at the front desk attitude and i felt like they were trying to get over on me because I'm a young woman..but its fine because I'm never going back and my boyfriend did call corporate. This place took advantage of my 82 year old mother. She broke down across the street from MR. Tire on Airport Road in Wilson. She was told she needed a starter. The place pushed her car into the lot and charged her $50 for a tow truck service. They then told her she needed a starter. They charged her $39 to throw out her old starter. $520 later she pulled out and made it 4 blocks and broke down again. This time they told her she needed and new battery and Alternator. When I tested her battery it was old and needed replacing. When I pulled the alternator off to change it the place never connected her live wire from the new started to the alternator. These guys are low level crooks who prey on helpless people. When I asked the place what they were going to do to make this right I was told she drove the car off our lot and it's not their problem. They never fixed this correctly in the first place. read more

Went in for an oil change, told them did not want a tire rotation, they did any way. After i left the car drove funny. After a couple of days noticed that one of the lug nuts was missing. Let them know about it and they said it wasn't there. A couple of days later it was worse, checked the rest of the lug nuts on that tire and ALL were loose and almost all off. Now I have to replace one of the lug studs because it has broken off. Will not ever go back here and will never tell anyone to go. read more

Absolutely will never be back . Desk staff is unprofessional, There are no posted prices for routine services or anything else for that matter. Beware, beware of inflated estimated labor times. I was quoted 3 hours labor and estimated replacement costs for parts that were associated with the system that was giving me problems before that part had even been deemed "broken". I managed to save $300 by going elsewhere, even after paying Mr Tires' rack fee (huh?) My car is now fixed (only the parts that were broken) and it only took the mechanic 1 1/2 hours. read more

My daughter went here for an inspection. They said she needed new break pads. She brought the car home so her dad could put the new break pads on. Once he took off the tires found that the break pads did NOT need replacing. Unfortunately, my son, who goes to school out of state, did not know about this bad experience and went here 6 months later for his inspection since it was close by. They said he needed new tire rods at a cost of $300. Of course, once they put that in the inspection system, it needs to be changed in order to pass. They also said he needed new windshield wipers which they always say to make money because their wipers are more expensive than the auto stores. I have always put an extra pair of wipers in my car before inspection so if they say wipers need to be replaced, I hand them the wipers for them to replace. I am never going back again, I normally take my vehicles to Mr.Tire in Rocky Mount as I live in the area but now that I work in Wilson have taken my car to this location a couple of times and both times was bad service. After this last time I will definitely not be going back, I took my car there for a four wheel alignment, as my car had been pulling to the right. Dropped it off and they called once car was ready and I went to pick up, paid them close to $200.00 for services. They said everything was ok. Once I left I noticed right away car was still pulling to the right, and seemed to be even worse than before!!! I could literally take my hands off steering wheel and see it pull right away! I called and the manager told me to bring it back. I took it back and he says that they did all they could do, that I needed a CAM kit , that would be the only way to the correct the problem. Nothing was mentioned to me when I first picked up my car!! I ask to see the wheel alignment sheet of before and after. I am a female and may not know much of what I am looking at but for the most part is common sense, plus my dad is a mechanic so I have more knowledge about cars than most females so I knew that it looked as if nothing had been done and it was obvious driving the car nothing had been done. I told the manager that I felt like nothing had been done!! He was arguementive and insisted they did alignment, and I kept telling him to drive the car and he will see what i am talking about. He drove the car around back again and then comes back and tells me that they did all they could do. I took my car to Mr.Tire in rocky mount this past weekend for an oil change and the manager there ask to speak to me, he proceeds to tell me that he didn't want to rotate my tires (which is included in oil change) because of the wearing pattern on my front tires, and they should not be put on the back that I need an alignment. I told him I just recently took my car to Wilson location and was told the alignment was done and need a cam kit!!! Make a long story short, I basically wasted my money, now I need to buy new front tires and pay for another alignment!! I also have a coworker that recently had a bad experience with them. She didn't go for the same service but basically wasted her money there too as they didn't fix the problem, she was told to bring it back and once she got there they tell her there is nothing they can do!!! If I could give 0 stars, I would. We've had nothing but trouble with them from the start. We got 4 new tires in March. A little while later, a sound was coming from the front driver tire/wheel. Went back and they said they don't know what it is but they rotated the tires to see if it would help. I was concerned it was a wheel bearing but they assured us it wasn't and it's nothing to worry about, when it gets worse, bring it back. It didn't get better so we came backa while later. They said they think it's a wheel bearing but not sure. We had to come back a week or so later when we had the money. When we came back they said no, it's not the bearing, it's the tie rod. So, we get that replaced. After $300, it didn't do anything but get worse. Took it back yesterday, they say it's probably a bearing and quoted me at 120. Made an appt for today and they didnt even drive it to see what im talking about. I asked about an issue and he said 'yeah, it's probably from the bearing'. Probably?!? Then says if i get it all there its another $300. But i could buy a part for $50 at Advance and just pay the $157 labor. And of course he didnt know where the other guy got the $120 from. I will NOT be going back. They just keep guessing and fixing stuff that probably isnt even broken. What's worse is they know that I've been jerked around. They know the tech that worked on my car messed up but didnt bother to offer me any kind of discount on fixing my car. If they had fixed it right the first time, we wouldnt be here. I wouldn't be trying to figure out whether I can afford to spend our grocery money to fix the car. Worst place ever to take your car. Dont go there if you want your car to actually work. read more

My daughter and I went in there today to get her brakes done and oil changed. The original estimate was $212. The oil change was supposed to be $17.99, but when I reviewed the ticket, it was $28.99. I asked why this was and they couldn't give me a straight answer. They tried to beat around the bush telling me because I got a corporate discount on the brakes that the oil change was more. Makes no sense as that was completely irrelevant. The woman, who seemed to be the manager?, didn't even give any of the other service consultants a chance to speak. Any time they opened their mouth, she cut them off. It was extremely frustrating. Despite all this, we left the car to perform the services. I get a call an hour and a half later saying that I all of a sudden need rotors and brake pads front and back (99% sure the back is fine as we've recently had them checked out.) The rotors were $95 each, but I know they're available for only $55. I'm all for business making a profit, but this is an exorbitant markup. To go from an original estimate of $200 to almost $600 feels like a scam, and after reading other reviews of this location I believe I'm correct. We will take our corporate business elsewhere from now on. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. I had been dealing with this mr tire for about a year after moving back to wilson. In a years time, the personnel changed many times. It got worse:(. The last time I went in I was told I needed about $700 worth of work to my car not including $250 for brake work. I did have them do that because they scared me into it but waited on the rest. Took it to a mechanic in another city that had always worked on my car before I moved back to wilson. He said there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car. I'm not even sure there had been anything wrong with my brakes!! I felt so taken advantage of and will not go back there. I did go in and speak with a lady who was the new manager and all I wanted was an apology and admission but she just talked about how great she was!! So never got any kind of explanation.
