Extremely disappointed and honestly grossed out. I went here for brunch this morning and had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. First, the bread they served was molded... not just a tiny spot, but several and clearly something that should've been caught before it ever made it to a table. Then, as if that wasn't enough, there was a hair in my food. When we let our server know about the moldy bread, she told us the only thing she could do was comp our sodas. Wahoo's Restaurant has just hit the bottom of the food chain. Yep it just dropped beneath the worst of the worst. My ribs all dried out and I sent it back the asshole that owns it still charged me ( No I didn't eat it). Needless to say we use to come up here but No More. My porterhouse steak tasted like it was spoiled. The owner refused to make it right and let me get something else, and made me pay for, insisting it was fine even though he hadn't tasted it. Will not come here again, the food is bland and boring, steak aside. Don't waste your money. read more

I'm not to sure how to start... Very seldom am I at a loss for word..... It's a old diner probably original wallpaper, tables, and decor, but getting past that the service was very friendly. I'm kinda thinking smaller town vibes, so that friendly greeting like omg !!! Thank God u came in lol !!! Ok, as for food... Cheeseburger was a decent size, but it was just a Cheeseburger, nothing stood out, noting made it better. It was BASIC !!! French fries soggy on both plates. Hubby didn't want the soup offered so he ordered Cole slaw and let me have it. I'm not a fan. It's a texture thing. It was cut in small pieces, mind thought potatoes but tasted slaw. Lol. I got a standard club. It was pretty good !!! Bread nice and toasty enough toppings, I'd get it again. But my overall feelings are. I'm gonna try it again !!! I give this place a three star review because it's okay I mean if your driving through Dowagiac and you wanna stop I wouldn't recommend this place but if everything else is closed then it might be okay it always packed for some reason and it just feels sweaty and greasy and I just feel weird whenever I go there idk I think the prices went up but overall it's about a 6/10 read more

The restaurant is handicap wheelchair accessable, a big plus for us. Mostly booths , but tables in the center and we had no problem with seating. Our party ordered Hot Beef, Hot Turkey and chicken parm. Hot beef was " the most tender she ever had ". The hot turkey is "a huge portion", and she liked it. I had the chicken parm, and it had a very generous portion of spaghetti. The place is a bit dated but clean and it came highly recommended by a local, well founded. read more

This place is disgusting...I ordered the Roast Beef (picture attached) and I had to hold back my gag reflex when she put it in front of me. I immediately said it looks disgusting and she notified the cook who wouldn't do anything to satisfy me (I just wanted something that looked appetizing, it was not about taking it off my bill, I was hungry). I am from out of town but I will take it to my sister in laws dog but not sure if he will eat it. On the plus side...our waitress, Brandy, was very apologetic and super nice. Good food at a good price. We came here with family. It's a seat yourself kind of place, so we did so in the larger dining area because there were seven of us. Since there was a group of people who had just left, the staff had to clean off our table for us. They did so in a timely manner. Our food and drink orders were also taken fairly quickly. I ordered three blueberry crepes. They arrived fresh and hot to the table. They were pretty darn big. They filled up the entire plate! All three had ample blueberry filling and were topped with whipped cream (by request). They weren't gourmet by any means, but they were tasty, and I had enough left over to take with me. All of this for less than six bucks. That is practically unheard of these days. The rest of my family all had large quantities of food for very little money as well. The only reason I am dinging them a star is because we were without drink refills for too long. They serve their drinks in teeny tiny cups to begin with, so for someone who consumes large amounts of liquid with my meals, I go through several. read more

Great small town spot to get some good food. Not the cleanest and it's pretty cramped, but the excellent customer survive and the food totally makes up for it. My wife and I stopped in for a quick bite to eat while visiting some family and were shocked at the amount of food we were given at an unbeatable price. We both got 1/2 lbs burgers that came with fries and the soup of the day for just over $12! We were both shocked at how great everything tastes too! My wife went there yesterday late morning to pick up breakfast we ordered for take out. We just newly bought our full time home in Michigan because of the beautiful area and fond memories. She went in with a mask on and immediately was ridiculed by an older man across the restaurant. He started yelling at her, saying she must be an idiot from Chicago because she was wearing a mask. He heckled her the whole time she was picking up our food until finally an employee told him to shut up. He was a regular there. My wife had to inform him on the law in his own state that he had no clue about. What an ignorant A? It's not a matter of what you or I think is right or wrong, it's about respect of others around you and the law, no matter how silly it may seem. Although, I've previously been a long time patron, my experience on 4/15/11 has changed my mind about this restaurant forever. My experience on this day was not only disappointing, but demonstrated a lack of compassion, and extreme unprofessional ism. Upon drinks being ordered, I requested a hot chocolate, in a to go cup, for my 5-year-old granddaughter, to avoid any spills, as I did expect the drink to be hot. Drinks arrived at the table and we began to place our order with the server. While doing this, I noticed that my granddaughter was crying, and then noticed that the lid of the hot chocolate had come off of her drink, causing it to spill down the front of her dress, which caused her to drop it on the table. At this time, I immediately tried to assess my granddaughter, who had been clearly burned in her mouth, lips, chest and stomach. At this time, the server walked away. She only returned to clean off the table. She showed no concern or acknowledgment to my granddaughter's condition, but she appeared to be angry and annoyed. At this time, we questioned the temperature of the hot chocolate, as it appeared to be hotter than our coffee, due to the steam rising from the table. The server refused to take any responsibility, showed no compassion, and argued about the incident, using profanity. I gathered our belongings, and assisted my granddaughter away from the table, and outside to determine if she needed to go to the emergency room. My friend went to the cashier counter, following the server's demands, to take care of generating a drink bill. At that time, while waiting for the cashier to complete the sale, whom appeared to show concern, non verbally, my friend asked calmly, if she could speak to the owner, or to a manager, to report this incident and to also let them know how we had been treated. When the owner, of Wahoo Eatery, met with my friend, she asked if she could speak to him in private, to avoid disrupting other patrons in the restaurant. The owner refused, and started to argue and deny any responsibility. No one at this establishment inquired about my granddaughter's condition. read more

The food is hearty, the prices are uber cheap and the staff is quick. They have the menus with local advertisments in them and some of the best hot turkey sandwiches I have ever had. Ate at Mr. Wahoo's Eatery for the first time today. Decided to try it out when we saw the parking lot was full and all the other restaurant parking lots were empty. Glad we made the decision to stop in and eat. Man-o-man, the food was great (and abundant). The price for our two meals was way under what we would have spent for two at Mickey D's or B. K. Ok. So 3 out of 4 of our take out orders are incomplete or totally wrong. It's been years of history of not getting our orders correct. It's just the little things that continually seem to be forgotten by this local restaurant. When you drive 10 miles both ways to pick up take out, any customer would assume they'd get their order correct. Well, shame on me. Any one knows if you ass/u/me you make an "ass/ out of u/ and me! Never again Mr. Wahoo! We're done with you. I will be sure to let everyone I know that they'll never get what's promised. Never got a call back to resolve the issue. Went here for breakfast and I ordered the Hillbilly it was the special for the day. It came with American potatoes topped with a half order of biscuits and gravy and then topwith two eggs. It was delicious and extremely filling. The price was reasonable. However the staff wasn't very friendly, our server didn't make good eye contact while taking our order and when she checked on us. Any time we are in the area, we make it a point to go there for at ,least one meal. Their "specials" are the best, think the "Blue Plate Specials" of yesteryear, complete meals. Several "specials" are offered each day and any of them that my wife and I have tried are awesome, to say the least. Dinners come complete with some of the best pudding desserts you will find and the service there is always as good as you will find anywhere. The owner apparently prefers cash payments as they have a $.65 surcharge to charge your meal(s) to a credit or debit card. This is the only place where I can honestly say they try to keep costs down, though. read more
