I stopped there for dinner and was seated right away. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered the Hot Turkey Sandwich along with a cup of cream of broccoli soup. The soup came quick and was good, but not great, it needed salt and pepper. The Turkey followed and it had a deep brown gravy which would have been fine with me, but it was so salty. I had to scrap it off the Turkey to eat it. It's a shame because the Turkey was WONDERFUL. Very juicy and tender. I'm not sure if I would be back, it really didn't impress me that much. read more

Topped for lunch on our way to Shipshewana. Great menu with lots of variety. I had the hot pork open face with mashed potatoes, corn and chicken noodle soup. Sis had the same with beef. Pleasantly surprised! Large menu, excellent service. Both husband and I had the soup of the day, ham and bean and it was delish and piping hot. I had the monte cristo and my only complaint was no raspberry jam but hey, every restaurant puts their own spin on food. Husband got a club blt and it was huge. Fries were outstanding as well. Great breakfast place with very friendly staff. My favorite is their blueberry pancakes which are large and fluffy and full of fresh blueberries. We are now "regulars" and our favorite waitress has our drink orders memorized. I enjoy their patty melts for lunch several times. Plus they are not stingy with the pickles. read more

The clientèle sharply certainly was representative of rural America: hicks! People were doubling down on stacks of pancakes, strips of bacon, and one guy was even going to town on a steak. Being a skillet man myself, I didn't hesitate to order a Hungry Man skillet featuring bacon,ham, sausage, green peppers with hash browns and onion. The Hungry Man came with poached eggs, 2 giant pieces of Texas toast that came laced with butter. A strange oasis amidst the cornfields on the cheap. This is a quick "re-review" of Country Table as I haven't been there in a while and stopped in again recently. As always, it's an extraordinarily clean restaurant, coffee is hot and fresh and food is great. My only surprise was how very busy this little roadside diner was. At any one time there were virtually no empty tables to be had-that speaks volumes for this business. Even though it was busy we had a table within minutes. As usual the owner was there with a big smile, helping seat people, bus tables and cleaning up as people left. The place has seen a recent "upgrade" inside-clean, bright and cheerful.
