I don't know where to start! The steak was over cooked, bland, and tough. I was hopeful towards the end that the free dessert would save the meal, boy was I wrong! Bread pudding was more like something you'd find in a porn stars dresser! Not to mention the booger in my soup!

    DISGUSTING!!!!!

This place is disgusting...I ordered the Roast Beef (picture attached) and I had to hold back my gag reflex when she put it in front of me. I immediately said it looks disgusting and she notified the cook who wouldn't do anything to satisfy me (I just wanted something that looked appetizing, it was not about taking it off my bill, I was hungry). I am from out of town but I will take it to my sister in laws dog but not sure if he will eat it. On the plus side...our waitress, Brandy, was very apologetic and super nice. BTW....I had to choose a star and only did so to continue to post this review.

Good food at a good price. We came here with family. It's a seat yourself kind of place, so we did so in the larger dining area because there were seven of us. Since there was a group of people who had just left, the staff had to clean off our table for us. They did so in a timely manner. Our food and drink orders were also taken fairly quickly. I ordered three blueberry crepes. They arrived fresh and hot to the table. They were pretty darn big. They filled up the entire plate! All three had ample blueberry filling and were topped with whipped cream (by request). They weren't gourmet by any means, but they were tasty, and I had enough left over to take with me. All of this for less than six bucks. That is practically unheard of these days. The rest of my family all had large quantities of food for very little money as well. The only reason I am dinging them a star is because we were without drink refills for too long. They serve their drinks in teeny tiny cups to begin with, so for someone who consumes large amounts of liquid with my meals, I go through several.

Great small town spot to get some good food. Not the cleanest and it's pretty cramped, but the excellent customer survive and the food totally makes up for it. My wife and I stopped in for a quick bite to eat while visiting some family and were shocked at the amount of food we were given at an unbeatable price. We both got 1/2 lbs burgers that came with fries and the soup of the day for just over $12! We were both shocked at how great everything tastes too! They're definitely giving all the large fast food chains the surround them a run for their money.

The breakfast is decent and the service is great...depending on who you get. In my opinion the dinner is too greasy and lacks seasoning.

One of the best breakfast places in Dowagiac. I'm also a huge fan of their bread pudding. It's a really great place to get a meal.

I arrived in town earlier than expected after a 3-hour drive and was looking for something to eat…read moreand drink. Unfortunately, options were limited--mostly fast food and a few pubs that were closed at the time. This restaurant was open, so I decided to give it a shot. The place was nearly empty, aside from a few locals. It's a surprisingly large space, which only made the emptiness more noticeable. The tap list was underwhelming--mostly domestics like Bud and Busch, along with a heavy focus on IPAs (not my thing). I ended up ordering a Corona, but it was clearly skunked, likely from sitting too long--suggesting slow turnover and possibly overstocked inventory. I ordered the half rack of ribs with baked beans and their corn coleslaw. Unfortunately, the meal was disappointing. The ribs were lukewarm, dry, and lacked flavor. No BBQ sauce was brushed on or offered--which is surprising for a BBQ joint. The beans tasted canned, and the corn coleslaw, while creative in concept, just didn't work in execution. No pickles, no bread, no condiments--nothing to round out the plate. I get that this is a small town, but when you're the only BBQ spot around, there's a real opportunity to stand out. Sadly, this place missed the mark. I don't like leaving below-average reviews, but in this case, I had to be honest.

Jumped online and looked for some reviews of local restaurants in Chesterton, Indiana, a little…read moretown adjacent to Indiana dunes national Park. Found a couple promising choices and we settled on northside diner. And it was a great choice. Inside it has that quirky retro 50s, nostalgic feel. Memorabilia and art around the small building. Standout performances by the service staff. As it should have been, it was extremely busy on a Saturday morning. There also happened to be a festival in town. Which may have even subtracted from the amount of people waiting to get a booth, as there were some food trucks and other activities going on. But that being said, we sat at the little counter and ordered your basic breakfast with eggs and bacon and toast plus some biscuits and gravy and I was pleased that I didn't order the full-size biscuits and gravy because the half size was as big as a normal size at other restaurants. Gravy was full flavor, not gritty at all, and there was more than adequate amounts of sausage. Sometimes you have to play hunt the sausage, which is just a scary statement. I had ordered an extra well-done sausage patty just in case I needed to cut up more and had it. But I would've been OK without. Happy with our choices plus a tremendous value. Highly recommend anyone coming into the Indiana dunes area looking for a great breakfast value I believe the place closes at 1 o'clock, so keep that in mind. Now we were there on a Saturday so please check hours. Enjoy.

It was busy, so we sat at the counter, and "Ti" (not sure how she spelled it) and her assistant Haley gave us excellent service, and then Ti's Mom came out and talked with us. What a friendly, positive place for good food! Highly recommend!
