No problem, there's additional seating in the back for a more relaxed feel. Service was a win. Our waiter was courteous, attentive, and accommodating without hovering. Now the food, the Gooouda Burger caught my eye immediately. I ordered it bunless, wrapped in buttery romaine lettuce, topped with crispy bacon and fried onions. Paired it with their straw fries (seriously good) and a cold beer to wash it down. First bite? Exactly what you want. Food to temp, everything was crisp not soggy, the burger was cooked perfectly, even at well done, which is not easy to pull off. I can only speak for the burger, but based on that alone: don't judge this place by its exterior. Give it a shot, you might be pleasantly surprised. I spotted several Dave's Hot Chicken "Now Open" lawn signs near Amsterdam HS. As expected, there was a long line from the door to the registers. I ordered my favorite #2 Combo, 2 Sliders (Medium spiciness) & Fries ($14.99 plus tax) and a side of Mac & Cheese ($3.79 plus tax). They call your number when your order is ready. It took 15 minutes after ordering for my order to be packed and ready. The sliders had very crisp thick chicken tenders, slaw, pickles & orange sauce on soft buns were very good. The chicken tenders were crispy outside which had a sweet flavor, then medium hot taste! The crinkle cut fries were golden fried and firm. Dill pickle chips and tangy orange dipping sauce was included with the box of food. The Mac & Cheese had soft macaroni and orange cheese sauce, which I dipped the crinkle cut fries into for cheese fries. This place lived up to the hype IMO. I would recommend this place if you love to eat spicy hot chicken and fries. Still crossing my fingers, as they expand and open more locations including in Portsmouth NH, hopefully more in NH in the near future.

But it's closed and reopened two or three times over the years, and in its current iteration it seems much more agreeable to me than it has in the past. The three or so times I've been in there since it last reopened I've found it quiet (even when busy), with friendly staff and customers alike, and an overall not-unpleasant place to spend some time. The food is good, simple fare in ample quantities and the atmosphere is pleasant. I don't feel like I'm anywhere near as good as I used to be at coming up with catchy and conclusive conclusions to my reviews. So I think this is going to be another one that ends a little awkwardly. :P
