In the sea of all that, we wanted to find a local spot for lunch, and we're glad Yelp brought us here. We just wanted a couple of sandwiches. The lady running things highly recommended the Chicken Philly (the kid with her seemed too nervous to recommend anything), and we also got a bacon egg and cheese (SPK). Both folks behind the counter were so friendly, and during the 15 minutes or so we waited for our sandwiches, we were the only people they didn't greet by name. They obviously have a number of regulars, and it's no wonder, because the sandwiches were great. I actually thought the BEC was outstanding, and better than the Chicken Philly. In addition to good sandwiches, they've got local pies for sale, all the chips and drinks you'd ever want, and tables inside and out if you decide not to take your food home with you. It's obviously a local gem, and I'm glad we came by.

Amsterdam Dave's Hot Chicken Review June 30, 2024 I'd never heard of DHC before. Frankly I thought it was a cosmetic thing my wife gets in the mail. The guy at the counter was really nice and though the prices were a bit steep I chickened out and got the normal slider and fries with nothing too spicy. I love spicy but I didn't want to freak my family out. The decor was super cool and colorful and busy. The sauce was amazing and the kale slaw was phenomenal. My wife and I were very tempted to get another one which was much spicier. We would go for the very hot next time. But we didn't. Next time. We plan on passing through Amsterdam again on Saturday. We look forward to more Dave's Hot Chicken! Our little one has an egg allergy and peanut allergy. He got the tenders and it was great. It came with a slice of toast, probably the most expensive slice of toast ever. But to make sure he was taken care of we got the OREO shake too which was really really good. A nice sweet contrast to the sandwich. In about 2 weeks I might be coming through again with a bunch of HUNGRY boys and Dave's Hot Chicken better watch out! They will be hungry! The pita was cut into small pieces, but I would have preferred a whole or half pita. I will ask next time. The owner supplied me with three different sauces on the side to try ranging from mild to spicy (green one). The Chicken Chapli was a cut up well seasoned chicken patty. A few meat combinations are available. (See pic of Menu) The Swarma Wrap was moist and a little messy to eat since I sliced it into two portions. It had a medium spiced sauce and small salad pieces such as cucumber. Not my favorite. The owner was friendly and thanked me for my business. He said they cater for as few as ten people if interested. I commented on the long hours they are open (10 am to 1:15 am), and he responded with a smile, "We're from the City." There are several tables to dine in if wanted. Lots of natural light from the large front windows makes the place inviting. The pick up counter with kitchen behind it is beyond the tables. The walls are decorated nicely, and the place screamed CLEAN. Parking is in front, and the restaurant is easy to access. There are no steps to enter.
