Ok, so typically I don't offer or engage in "reviews" and I never give FULL stars, but I wanted to in this case with Mr. Jim's Pizza. I am a New Yorker whose lived in Texas for nearly 14 yrs. Since I've been here, I've had my share of pizzas from the commercial to the family owned. With the exception of the family owned business, none of the pizzas that I've had impressed me. So, when ordering something to eat, pizza was never really an option because I just knew I would be greatly disappointed (and most time I was). Then one day some year or so, I had Mr. Jim's pizza and found myself liking it. No really, I was exceptionally pleased with the crust, the flavor, seasonings and most importantly .... the sauce (that's the part that matters). Some time had elapsed since we had pizza again, so yesterday we ordered a pizza from Mr. Jim's, just for giggles and let me say, "no matter how you slice it" (yes...I used an ol' lame cliche'...lmbo), Mr. Jims pizza is the ONLY pizza I will be choosing from now on. Online ordering is user friendly, delivery is relatively fast, especially since they have expanding their delivery distance and the cost, well it's worth the cost because this pizza is what pizza should taste like, to me. Our "Mr. Jimaterian" (all veggie) was loaded with just the right amount of toppings, sauce and cheese. It didn't arrive greasy, burnt, salty, watery or sitting on one side of the box. It was still warm, aromatic and most of all flavorful. I don't know who's running and managing the location we ordered from, but I certainly hope that the quality remains as good as it is right now. This place is absolutely filthy. We decided to try it one night after getting so much marketing material in the mail over the years. We placed our order on the phone and I wish I had just visited one before ordering. There were flies buzzing around the kitchen. None of the people preparing food were wearing gloves. The guy making pizza would take out his phone to text in the middle of making pizza and then carry on touching all the toppings. Now I know why they advertise so much, I'm not sure how they stay business. Only silver lining was the cashier seemed nice. Never coming back. Here's the Detroit style pizza. We used to get Mr. Jims all the time, then corporate about ten years ago changed the sauce. We didn't like it. In the past year we returned to find a decent pizza delivery place. I received a flyer in the mail which offered a variety of Detroit Style pizzas, pictured as rectangular-shaped, with 10% off if ordered online. I decided to order the Triple Top, priced at $12.99, and attempted to order it online. The Triple Top showed in the ad to come with three toppings, but, no matter how I tried, the site would not let me specify anything but the basic pizza with no toppings, priced at $7.00 plus change. There was no mention of the availability of the special shown in the flyer, or how to apply the special code shown in the flyer. So I decided to try calling in my order, and tried to place my order over the background noise at the phone answerer's location. I took special note to explain that I had the mailed flyer, but the order-taker would only quote the $14.99 price. With difficulty, I found your almost-hidden shop in Carrollton to pick up my order, and tried to show my flyer and explain why I thought I should only be charged the amount on the flyer. The clerk just looked at the flyer and said, "Uh-huh, and charged me the full price. When I got home and opened the box, the pizza inside was the usual round variety, and not rectangular at all. And, when I tried separating the slices, they were not cut all the way through. I found out why when I tried to separate them with my own knife I had to switch to one of my very large knives, and the crust you brag about was so tough I kept turning it over to see if it had a Michelin brand stamped in it. Mount it on a vehicle, and you should get some pretty good mileage on it. But i wouldn't drive across the street to get another Mr. Jim's pizza, even if it was free. read more

I've been ordering pizza from this location for over a decade and I love it! I get the pizza delish because it's a thinner crust. The pizza isn't too greasy like some of the other brands, so that's a plus for me. Their Canadian bacon is also diced into small cubes which is a huge preference for me as well because I don't like it as much when it's round‍. read more

I called in my order and had an easy time placing the order. The guy over the phone was super friendly and telling me what I should order seeing that it was my first time coming there. Now upon arrival the greeting was not as friendly as my phone interaction was. No one greeted me the guy and lady behind the counter just continued their conversation as though I was never never. Maybe a minute and a half later I was asked how I could be helped. My pizza was coming out the oven right then and there so I was able to get home and enjoy it while hot. The pizza was soft and filling. The slices are large portions and not too much sauce. I'm particular about my crust and the crust was actually really good so this is a pizza where you can enjoy the whole slice from start to finish. read more

Haven't been in a short while trying to cut down On bread and such. Returned Sunday ordered a small sticky fingers and a large pepperoni, their original Crust. It was hot, loaded with toppings and cooked just right. A bit of a crunch to the crust and gooey melted cheese with awesome sauce. What more could a person ask for? I have to give it to Mr. Jim's. The the staff was down to earth and polite over the phone and in person. My pizza was piping hot and tasted particularly good. They didn't skimp on toppings and the crust (regular) was perfect to me. The only thing I didn't care for was the amount of grease (see pics). It was REALLY greasy. I know some if it was from the pepperoni and cheese, but it seemed to be quite a bit. All in all a good experience. I may use them instead of Papa John's next time. read more

We ordered a pizza at 7:00pm... received a call an hour later asking us what we ordered another 40 minutes passed and I called to check on the pizza only to have someone tell me they called and confirmed the delivery which wasn't the case. I normally enjoy the pizza from this place and they are normally timely but I think after this I am going elsewhere with my money. I recently moved into the area and much to my surprise I received a coupon from Mr. Jim's welcoming me to the neighborhood with a free 2 topping large pizza. So far so good. I called them up and ordered a Hawaiian pizza and was even happier that they didn't fuss about the coupon and instead added a free cinnamon stick dessert with my free pizza. Even better... Pizza was hot when it arrived home and everything tasted great and fresh. The Canadian ham was small little chopped pieces which was actually quite nice. The pizza overall for me was actually just good because I don't tend to love the thick crusts but was sold by their welcoming attitude and friendly service. Thanks for the free meal, Mr. Jim's! I was craving some pizza and Mr. Jim's hit the spot. The large 3 topping thin and crispy was just well cooked and toppings plentiful. Definitely a step above other large chains. Food seems fine, and the staff is friendly enough but it is NEVER short of a hassle to retrieve an order - more trouble than its worth! I understand things can get busy, and staff can be overwhelmed at times, but I continue to find myself waiting aimlessly at this location with unrelenting consistency. Maybe the store just needs more help, maybe it's etiquette, but I value my time dearly and would just hope I get through a single transaction here without a complete hassle. What a wonderful pizza place. Favored by our kids, we ordered some pizzas including the Mr Jim's Special, an order of the Jim Stix and lastly the Cin Stix. Pizzas hit the spot with garlic Parmesan handstretched crust. The Cin Stix were a surprise, nice finish. I've been ordering from this location for years and they know us. But tonight the delivery time was 90-100, so me and the wife planned accordingly and they tried to deliver contact less after 30 min. Well that's a lot earlier than 90-100 min so no one was home. Apparently they tried to deliver but didn't leave the delivery...not too mad about that with an hr to hr n half early, but when we called the store after no delivery 2 hrs later, they hung up on me. After calling in my concern the associate handed my call to Brian who sympathized and problem solved without any judgement or biased. I decided to order pizza, but didn't want Pizza Hut today. I'm over their taste. I'll start with the good. The pizza sauce was pretty good. It's not too overwhelming on the pizza like other chain stores. It seemed to have a good sauce-topping ratio. The price was ok too and it was delivered in a good time. Now on to the bad. The crust! It was awful. It has no flavor, was burned and chewy, but hard to chew type of chewy. It tasted how I imagine a cardboard box might taste. To me, the crust is so important. It holds the whole thing together. Unfortunately, not today. I was disappointed in the taste. I guess I hoped for something better than what the main chain restaurants give us. Just no.. the pizza is just OK. They really need to update their website, you can not order ahead you have to SAVE it to your cart. I went in to pick up a three cheese pizza and salad. The place REEKED of body order, underarm stink! Not cool when your getting food from the place! Ugh upset my stomach, the pizza was really small and the cheese BURNT on top. The salad had old lettuce! The ingredients were starting to welt the mushrooms just looked OLD.
