I used to be a fan until yesterday. A big fan.. An hour after I ate the calzone yesterday, I got stomach cramps and had to go to the hospital . She said that had the signs of food poisoning draw your own conclusions. Also, sadly today, I just noticed a review from 13 days ago or someone commented that the place smelled like raw sewage z I wish I had read that comment before . I ordered from Zio Al's Pizza & Pasta through Uber Eats, and even after delivery, the food was fantastic! I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I got the ZIO's 7" sandwich and the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. Both were delicious, and the portions were very generous--so much food for the price! The flavor of the wings was perfect. That was what I mostly ate. I had one slice of pizza and I highly recommend the stuffed crust because oh my gosh they make the stuffed crust pizza perfectly. I love how they put the little :-) on the two go box since we picked it up to go. Highly recommend if you want to have an actually really good pizza that will hit the spot! We ordered a Thursday night and decided to select the Gyro. I've ordered Gyro pizza at other places, and when it arrived, it is not what I expected. They were really light on the Taziki sauce. It was near nonexistent, or it wasn't very flavorful. What threw me off and I probably should've read the description a little bit closer (so that's my fault) are the black olives and also the fresh iceberg lettuce that was placed on top. It made everything feel very wet and also for reheating purposes iceberg. lettuce is not helpful. We also ordered jalapeño poppers which were pretty decent. It's not a cream cheese filling it's more of like a cheddar pimento filling in case that's a preference but they became nice and crispy. We would be open to trying more traditional styles in the future. read more

Therefore, these basic issues shouldn't have occurred. Food Quality and Portion Size: The food was reasonable in terms of flavor, and the portion size was much larger than expected, especially for lunch. Menu Accessibility: Like many food establishments, they use QR codes to display menus, which doesn't bother me. However, the QR codes on different sides of the same table led to different websites/menus, with one not even showing their current offerings. If you're investing in fancy QR code stickers and attaching them to your tables, ensure they are correct before deployment. Service Issues: I ordered a meal that included a salad, which I never received. They graciously adjusted my meal pricing from dinner to à la carte. However, I was charged a fee for ordering ranch dressing with my salad, which seemed unnecessary. Bread Options: Both the à la carte and dinner pasta options come with bread--one with breadsticks and the other with actual bread. It seems more cost-effective to offer one type of bread to ensure consistency and reduce costs. Major Complaints 1. Hookah Lounge: If you've never been to this restaurant, be aware that it is also a hookah lounge. This is not clearly identified on any signage outside or inside the building, only in small print on the online menu. The smell of hookah was noticeable throughout the establishment, even though our party was on the opposite side of the building. This significantly impacted our dining experience. 2. Automatic Gratuity: Regardless of your party size, an automatic 18% gratuity is added to your bill, and then you're asked to add a gratuity. This is not posted anywhere, nor mentioned when presenting the electronic payment device. We only found out because we asked about the low gratuity selection options. This practice feels deceitful. When I asked about the deal, the owner was extremely rude and claimed they had "no idea" about the promotion. It has been a long time coming and I have heard nothing but GREAT things about Zio Al's! Everything that you read about it too is true! The bread is ridiculously fresh. So much so that it makes me question other pizza spots in the area. I am not sure what kind of special ness that they put on that crust but boy I sure did dip all that bread in ranch and gobbled it down to the last bite! I got a small cheese pizza and a Greek salad. Honestly too it is more than enough for two days of eating. They put the perfect amount of sauce which makes me happy because there's nothing that I can't stand more than way too much tomato sauce on a pizza. Open til 3 AM too for all of you night owls! You know when you're dying of hunger at like midnight and you scour delivery apps desperately like a grubby little raccoon and you spend way too much and regret it the next day and OMG that could've gone to bills etc........... Zio doesn't seem to be that place. I ordered tortellini before & tenders that were underwhelming but was feeling especially uncaring tonight. I got an NY pizza, what DoorDash calls a "zatar wrap" but seems to be unmentioned on Yelp & has no description, raspberry chipotle wings, garlic cheese bread & a calzone for the bf. I know that ninety bucks is gonna last because the portions were HUGE. Go for it. The wrap packs a lot of flavor but if you like Greek/Mediterranean don't worry - you'll like it. I do recommend a tzatziki to go with it. Make sure whatever you order you also add garlic sauce. I thought pizza hut's little fifty cent garlic sauce packages were as good as it gets - nope. Zio wins. And they cater to us weirdos who are up until 4 am. One star missing because the pasta kinda needs work and the crust isn't too spectacular.
