Skylar posted her pies for the week on Wednesday on her Instagram account, and I was able to purchase a pie slice box (3 different slices for $35) for pick up in Ventura on Sunday. This week's pies were strawberry cream, lemon with meringue, and coconut cream. They were all beautifully decorated and baked to perfection. The coconut cream was my favorite because it had a salty crust that paired well with the sweet coconut. But honestly, they were all so delicious! Looking at the old photographs displayed in the store, you can see that Mr. Softee has been loved by people for a long time. I usually order a simple vanilla soft-serve ice cream from the truck, but since I was at the store, I decided to try something different. I had a strawberry sundae, and my friend had a warm chocolate cookie sundae. Of course, both were delicious. The ice cream here is simple and reminds me of the ice cream I had as a child. They also sell original merchandise in the store, which was really fun. It's a fun place for both children and adults. There isn't much parking space in downtown Camarillo, but I was able to find street parking this time.
